Tinnitus is defined as perception of a sound without sound stimulation. This study aims to investigate the correlation between chronic tinnitus and the most significant clinical comorbidities and pharmacological treatments. We recruited 130 consecutive outpatients with a tinnitus for least from three months and 100 subjects without tinnitus. All patients had a full medical and audiological evaluation and all filled in Tinnitus Handicap Inventory questionnaire and Khalfa’s Hyperacusis questionnaire. We also analyzed the qualitative variables: audiometry exam, tinnitus characteristics and psychometric questionnaires. Univariate logistic regression was performed to evaluate the associations between the presence of tinnitus and the presence of comorbidities and drug intake. The statistical analysis provided the following results in the group of patients with tinnitus. We obtained an Odds Ratio statistically significant for the following categories taken into consideration: the presence of anxiety and depression, neurological diseases, headache, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, intake of levothyroxine and proton-pump inhibitor. In this study, we tried to evaluate the audiological characteristics in the subjects affected by chronic tinnitus in order to find a possible correlation with the comorbidities and any drugs intake. We found a statistically significant correlation between tinnitus and comorbidities like anxiety, depression, TMJ disorders, dysthyroidism, headache and levothyroxine and PPI intake.

The rum aging process shows volume losses, called wastage. The operation variables: product, boardwalk, horizontal and vertical positions, date, volume, alcoholic degree, temperature, humidity and aging time, recorded in databases, contain valuable information to study the process. The qualitative variables were processed using Weka 3.8.0 software while the quantitative variables underwent a statistical analysis using Statgraphics Centurion XVII.2. The biggest reductions correspond to barrels located in areas which solar irradiation, favoring the evaporation of the product. The variable temperature and humidity present very high variation coefficients; these factors are uncontrolled so a regulation process is suggested. A regression model was obtained that predicts the losses based on the variables: numerical month volume and aging time with mean square error values (ECM) and R2 of 0.115 and 95.88 % respectively.

AbstractAim. The purpose of the paper was to determine the type of concerns of pregnant women and women in childbed during the announced state of pandemic in the country.Material and methods. The study included a group of 102 women, including 87 (85.3%) pregnant women and 15 (14.7%) puerperal women. A self-written questionnaire containing 18 questions was used for the study. The comparison of the values of the qualitative variables in the groups was performed using the chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test. The statistical analysis was performed in the R program, version 4.0.22.Results. In the study group, the respondents’ greatest fear was childbirth without an accompanying person. A frequent cause of concern among the respondents was the limitation of follow-up visits to the doctor or midwife providing prenatal care. Limited physical activity during the pandemic also turned out to be a significant concern. Only 11.8% of the respondents did not feel any fear in their current pregnancy. Additionally, among the reasons for their concerns, the respondents mentioned, among others: fear of separation of mother and child after delivery, the need to care for an older child, no visits to specialists, fear of infection with SARS CoV-2 virus. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant correlation between the number of children already owned and the concerns of pregnant women regarding being resourceful in caring for themselves and their child after returning home.Conclusions. The duration of the pandemic is a significant stress factor for a pregnant woman. A significant group of female respondents was concerned about the deterioration of maternity care and infection with the virus during hospital stay. Therefore, the task of medical personnel is to provide mental support and educate patients.

A formalism is developed for describing approximate classical behavior in finite (but possibly large) quantum systems. This is done in terms of a structure common to classical and quantum mechanics, viz. a Poisson space with a transition probability. Both the limit where ħ→0 in a fixed finite system and the limit where the size of the system goes to infinity are incorporated. In either case, classical behavior is seen only for certain observables and in a restricted class of states.

SummaryIn the statistical literature there are proposed many test measures to determine the independence of two qualitative variables in contingency tables, in particular in two-way contingency tables larger than 2×2. For statistical analysis, three of the so-called “chi-squared tests”—the T3 test, BP test and |χ| test—were selected. These tests were compared with a logarithmic minimum test, which is the author’s proposal. Critical values for the tests were determined with the Monte Carlo method. To compare the tests, an appropriate measure of untruthfulness of H0 was used and the power of the tests was calculated.
