The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of an IT certificate program that contributes to the career development of individuals in terms of gaining 21st century skills, given the increasing competitive conditions of globalization process and developments in Information Technologies (IT). This study covers the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate Program in Vocational and Technical High Schools in collaboration with Cisco Networking Academy, one of the important institutions among IT certification programs. This certificate program provides training to students in the department of information technologies and electrical-electronics technologies in vocational high schools in order to meet the labor demands in the field of computer networks technology in Turkey. This certificate program is a comprehensive study starting in 2011-2012 academic year and completed in two years. However, the scope of this study is limited to the comparison of demographic characteristics and 21st century skill levels of students participating and non-participating in the certificate program. The study was conducted with 1453 students and the majority of these students were male. According to the findings of the study, it was concluded that the students who participated in the certificate program had a high level of skills in terms of 21st century skills. In addition, there was no effect of gender among students participating in technology-based certificate programs. ​Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Özet Küreselleşme sürecinin artan rekabetçi koşulları ve Bilgi Teknolojilerinde (BT) yaşanan gelişmeler göz önüne alındığında, bireylerin kariyer gelişimlerine katkı sağlayan sertifika eğitim programlarının 21. yüzyıl becerilerinin kazandırılması bakımından ne derece etkili olduğunun ortaya konması bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, BT sertifika eğitim programları arasında önemli kuruluşlardan biri olan Cisco Networking Academy işbirliği ile Mesleki ve Teknik Liselerde gerçekleştirilen Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Sertifika Programı ele alınmıştır. Bu sertifika programı, Türkiye’deki bilgisayar ağları teknolojisi alanındaki işgücü taleplerini karşılamak maksadıyla meslek liselerinin bilişim ve elektrik-elektronik teknolojileri alanlarındaki öğrenciler için eğitimler düzenlemektedir. Bu sertifika eğitim programının değerlendirilmesi 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılında başlayan ve iki yılda tamamlanan kapsamlı bir çalışmadır. Ancak mevcut çalışmanın kapsamı, eğitim programının birinci yılında sertifika programına katılan öğrenciler ile katılmayan öğrencilerin demografik özellikler ve 21. yüzyıl beceri düzeyleri bakımından karşılaştırılması ile sınırlıdır. Araştırma toplamda 1453 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiş olup bu öğrencilerin çoğunluğu erkeklerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre, sertifika programına katılan öğrencilerin katılmayan öğrencilere göre 21. yüzyıl becerileri bakımından birçok düzeyde yüksek becerilere sahip oldukları ve teknoloji ağırlıklı sertifika eğitim programlarına katılan öğrenciler arasında cinsiyete bağlı dezavantajlı grupların oluşmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract Lack of knowledge in a number of teachers who are not able to operate the concept of learning well, namely teachers only rely on learning methods and strategies on the handbook or documents that have been received. The impact of learners has difficulty in solving problems. By utilizing the results of research on the development of mathematical learning tools in the form of teaching materials, LKPD, and RPP based on 21st century skills that are feasible to be used can solve the problem. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize and implement the results of the research to the community, especially teachers in junior high schools. the outer target of this agility is the understanding for teachers of 21st century skill-based learning tools, particularly mathematics and other subjects.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe the development of 21st century skills in learning physics in high schools using creative problem solving models. This writing is motivated by the demands of the 21st century that education should be able to produce human resources capable of mastering 21st century skills including, critical thinking, communicative, creative and collaborative. The development of 21st century skills can be done by all disciplines, one of them is in learning physics. To develop 21st century skills in learning physics, educators can use creative problem solving models. The method used in this paper is to study literature by studying some literature to be analyzed and made conclusions. The results of this paper conclude that the creative problem solving learning model can be a solution in improving 21st century skills and motivating students to be more active and motivated in their learning success. The creative problem solving model is applied to students in high schools with several steps including clarifying the problem, expressing opinions, evaluating and selecting and implementing.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi e-modul berbasis smartphone pada materi integral tak tentu berorientasi keterampilan abad ke-21 yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dari Borg dan Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi enam langkah. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa hasil skor validasi ahli materi sebesar 4.2 termasuk kategori valid, ahli media diperoleh 3.8 termasuk kategori valid dan guru matematika diperoleh 3.7 termasuk kategori valid. Sedangkan hasil efektivitas diperoleh dari persentase ketuntasan 70% dengan kategori tinggi, dan n-gain sebesar 0,7682 termasuk kategori interpretasi tinggi. Lebih jauh, hasil praktis diperoleh 44.55 jumlah rata-rata skor pernyataan yang termasuk kategori sangat praktis dan 39.80 jumlah rata-rata skor pernyataan yang termasuk kategori praktis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan aplikasi e-modul berbasis smartphone merupakan media yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Abstract: The research aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective smartphone-based e-module applications 21st-century skills-oriented integral material. The Research method was developmental research (R&D) according to Borg and Gall which was modified into six steps. The results of the research show that the validity of material experts score is 4.2 (valid category), media experts obtained is 3.8 (valid category) and the mathematics teacher score is 3.7 (valid category). While the effectiveness results obtained from the percentage of completeness of 70% with a high category and n-gain of 0.7682 including the high interpretation category. As well as the practical results obtained 44.55 the average number of statements in the very practical category and 39.80 the average number of statements in the practical category. Based on these results it can be concluded that the development of smartphone-based e-module applications is a valid, practical, and effective medium.
