Continual reforms in the Australian Higher Education Sector result in ongoing significant changes to the experiences of the Australian academic. As a result, massification, internationalisation and corporatization form the landscape of academia in Australia. The Australian University Accounting Academic (AUAA) faces ongoing challenges and opportunities within this dynamic academic environment, and this study explores these challenges in relation to teaching themed issues that confront the AUAA. By using a questionnaire and interviews with AUAAs, three themes emerged, being curriculum, teaching workload, and the impact of online teaching. The “ASSET” support framework is developed from these conversations with the AUAA’s to help them become an “asset” to the university during these times of disruptive change instead of allowing the system to “gazump” them.

The subject of this research is the implementation of digital technologies in educational process of a university. The goal consists in studying the impact of digital technologies upon the students’ learning activities. The article presents the results of questionnaire-based survey among students by the three question pools. In the course of research, the author examines such aspects of the problem, as the positive and negative impact of technologies upon learning activities of the students of digital generation. Particular attention is given to consideration of students’ attitude on digitalization of higher education. The opinions of pedagogues on the results of conducted research are presented. The scientific novelty lies in mainstreaming the question on the negative impact of digital technologies upon learning activities of the modern generation of students that deserves special attention. On the background of common passion of the scholars of researchers and pedagogues for the ideas of digitalization of education, when digital technologies are viewed as virtually the key factor for modernization of educational process; second come the problems of growing pathological dependence of youth on digital technologies, undesired to switch to digitalized educational process to the disadvantage of communication in social networks and pleasant pastime online. The problem of the negative effect of digital technologies on learning activities must be recognized in order to find the ways for its solution.

Extending the analysis further, there is an investigation of how institutions have tried to respond to the emerging challenges and opportunities presented as a consequence of the shifting field. The focus then moves to the African continent and peruses the particular development of higher education under the influence of colonial legacy and globalization, examining how institutions have endeavored to adapt. The chapter draws to an end with a reflection of the main issues, inherent limitations, and how the research agenda could be taken further.

Introduction. To keep in pace and remain competitive in today's environment, the lecturer must do innovation in educational process. However, encouraging lecturers' willingness to do innovative teaching is challenging in higher education due to the dual roles as teachers and researchers, which makes the excessive workload and leads to the teacher-researcher role conflict (TRC). Therefore, it is crucial to analyse the impact of TRC on the innovative teaching of lecturers. The present study utilises the job demands-resources (JDR) model due to its high popularity but rarely used in higher education.Aim. This study is aimed to explore the predictor of innovative teaching by utilising the JDR model as a theoretical anchor.Methodology and research methods. This study uses structural equation modelling (SEM) to examine the research model on a random sample of 233 respondents.Results. The results indicated that teacher-researcher role conflict negatively predicted the innovative teaching of the lecturer. Besides, the occupational well-being is a mediating variable to explain the influence of teacher-researcher role conflict on innovative teaching.Scientific novelty. This study reveals innovative teaching predictors in higher education by using the JDR model as a theoretical anchor. The authors found out that teacher-researcher role conflict (TRC) was significantly related to innovative teaching. The high-level expression of TRC will reduce the lecturer's innovative behaviour on teaching activity, and vice versa.Practical significance. The current study provides critical insight into the related stakeholders, such as the universities and related ministries, regarding the negative predictor of innovative teaching. They should discover approaches to reduce the negative effect of TRC on the innovation behaviour of lecturer teaching activity and to address the problem of job role conflict.

Students in higher education institutions encounter different problems which are normally reported through the appropriate complaints channels. Sometimes institutions and their employees do not address the reported problems on time due to systematic issues such as internal processes or procedures which are cumbersome. This paper assessed the impact of service recovery strategies (speed and empowerment) on procedural justice in higher education institutions. The study was conducted across three public universities in South Africa using a purposive sample of 430 students. The findings showed that speed and empowerment have a positive and significant impact on procedural justice. The findings underpin the importance of fairness in the procedures being used to address student problems. Besides, the study could help faculty and institutional managers to pinpoint areas that are hindering the smooth running of the operations and interface between students and employees of the universities. This study contributes to the literature on procedural justice in the higher education sector and provides an analysis of students' experiences from the developing world where infrastructural and financial challenges contribute to the final recipe.

Studying language education in the preschool sector of a country, which is multinational and has a high quality education system, is useful in terms of implementing effective and proven means of updating and optimizing of domestic preschool education. The purpose of the article is to study and analyze Singapore’s language policy and ways of its implementation in the country’s preschool education sector. Methods. The work is based on the methodological principles of scientificity, objectivity and integrity. The research is based on such methods of scientific researches as the analysis of scientific literature and normative documents, synthesis, comparison, generalization and systematization of the received data.Research results. The main directions of the state activity on providing bilingual education in the preschool sector of Singapore, as well as unification and regulation of the functioning of Singapore’s preschool educational institutions in the field of language education are studied. It was found that the conceptual framework “Nurturing early learners”, proposed by the Ministry of Education of Singapore, allowed creating a single conceptual and methodological basis for the development of curricula in each individual preschool institution. Another focus of the Singaporean government has been turned to reducing the impact of English and Chinese dominance in the country’s preschool sector and to increasing the number of Malay and Tamil language programs in preschools for ensuring equal access to language education for all Singaporean ethnic groups by opening new kindergartens with an offer to study English and three native languages (optional).Conclusions. It was determined that the country’s bilingual policy was implemented with the pragmatic goal of uniting a multinational society and achieving economic growth, on the one hand, and preserving the national heritage, culture and traditions of the ethnic groups living in Singapore, on the other. Despite the private nature of Singapore’s pre-school education sector, the government is actively involved in regulating it, including language education, ensuring the principle of meritocracy by meeting the needs of all ethnic groups in language education at the pre-school level.Key words: language policy, language education, bilingualism, preschool education, English, native lan-guage, educational process. Дослідження особливостей мовної освіти в дошкільному секторі країни, яка є мультинаціональ-ною за складом населення і має високоякісну освітню систему, є корисним з точки зору запроваджен-ня ефективних та апробованих засобів оновлення та оптимізації вітчизняної дошкільної освіти. Мета статті полягає у вивченні та аналізі мовної політики Сінгапуру й засобів її реалізації в дошкільному секторі освіти країни. Методи. Робота ґрунтується на методологічних принципах науковості, об’єктив-ності та цілісності. В процесі дослідження застосовувалися такі методи наукових досліджень, як ана-ліз наукової літератури і нормативних документів, синтез, порівняння, узагальнення й систематизація отриманих даних.Результати дослідження. Простежено основні напрями діяльності держави із забезпечення білінгвальної освіти в дошкільному секторі Сінгапуру, а також уніфікації та регулювання діяльності закладів дошкільної освіти Сінгапуру у сфері мовної освіти. Встановлено, що запропонована Мініс-терством освіти Сінгапуру концептуальна рамка «Виховання дітей раннього віку» дала змогу створити єдину концептуальну й методологічну базу для розроблення навчальних програм в окремих закладах дошкільної освіти. Іншим напрямом діяльності уряду Сінгапуру стало зменшення наслідків домінуван-ня англійської та китайської мов у дошкільному секторі країни, збільшення кількості програм вивчен-ня малайської і тамільської мов у дошкільних закладах освіти задля забезпечення рівного доступу до мовної освіти для представників усіх етносів Сінгапуру за рахунок відкриття нових дитячих садочків із пропозицією вивчення англійської мови та трьох рідних мов на вибір.Висновки. Визначено, що білінгвальна політика країни запроваджена з прагматичною метою об’єд-нання багатонаціонального суспільства й досягнення економічного росту, з одного боку, та збережен-ня національної спадщини, культури й традицій етносів, які проживають у Сінгапурі, з іншого боку. Незважаючи на приватний характер дошкільного сектору освіти, уряд країни бере активну участь у його регулюванні та спрямовує свої зусилля на забезпечення потреб усіх етнічних груп населення в мовній освіті.Ключові слова: мовна політика, мовна освіта, білінгвізм, дошкільна освіта, англійська мова, рідна мова, навчальний процес.

Introduction. Working conditions of the teaching staff of higher education institutions are not static, as they reflect the changes taking place in the outside world. The increase in the role of informatization, the acceleration of the information flow, the changing of the information field, the introduction of scientometric indicators, the recognition of the impact of stress in the workplace on the health of an employee – all this accompanies the work of the teaching staff. The analysis of these phenomena makes it possible to single out three large groups of working conditions for the teaching staff of higher education institution, which today are undergoing changes, to identify the prerequisites for their occurrence and to formulate their consequences for the entire educational process. The purpose of the study was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the working conditions of higher education teachers, which are currently undergoing changes. Methods and methodology. The work used the methodology of a comprehensive study, including methods of document analysis, comparative analysis, secondary use of sociological, economic and medical data. The results of the study show that the digitalization of vocational education, including higher education, is carried out in different conditions than the digitalization of schools, which leads to the emergence of a new paradigm of interaction between higher education teachers and students. As a result of research, the absence of a centralized acquisition of skills in the use of digital technologies by teachers was confirmed: 45% of respondents carry out advanced training on their own, 41% – using online platforms, 31% – ask for help from colleagues in their educational institution, 30% – exchange experience with colleagues from others vocational institutions. In the absence of legislative regulation of the issue of mastering new digital competencies by the teaching staff of higher education institutions, the ways of solving this issue are proposed. The results of the research revealed that meeting the scientific productivity requirements for the teaching staff is one of the main sources of stress in the workplace (40% of respondents). It is concluded that in order to achieve quality indicators in the field of scientific activity, in order to prevent opportunistic behavior of the teaching staff, higher education institutions need to develop tools of internal motivation. The authors believe that an integrated approach to regulating the emotional burnout of teachers could also be applied in relation to minimizing the risks of professional burnout, that is, to adopt acts of legal regulation at the federal and local levels in order to prevent professional burnout.
