The IS availability is an essential requirement that business presents to its IT departments. Ibrahimovic (2016) concluded that, with a very low investment in “monitoring of the relevant components”, it is possible to achieve a significant improvement in IS availability. This chapter starts with a brief introduction of the IS availability. Authors provide a short definition of BBN modeling and address different aspects of IS monitoring, particularly: network monitoring, server monitoring, application, security and business process monitoring. As main artifact of this chapter authors proposed the monitoring. Since the framework emphases importance of governance and management layer, chapter contains overview of COBIT 5 and ITIL V3 from the IS monitoring aspect. In the final part of the chapter, authors address the challenges that a monitoring tool needs to address in modern information systems, especially but not limited to DevOps, Cloud and Hybrid IT architectures.

There are several different views of the role of information systems. Two of the most important are the data view and the communicative view. According to the data view, the primary purpose of an information system is to provide a model of a domain, thereby enabling people to obtain information about reality by studying the model. In this respect, an information system works as a repository of data that reflects the structure and behaviour of an enterprise, and the system provides data that can be used for decisions about the enterprise. In contrast, the communicative view states that the major role of an information system is to support communication within and between organisations by structuring and coordinating the actions performed by organisational agents. The system is seen as a medium through which people can perform social actions, such as stating facts, making promises, and giving orders.

Over the years , Information System has advanced so much that we are able to operate better in an organization which is better than what used to happen in the past. Information Systems derived from the term data processing. The purpose of Information Systems is to provide efficient and reliable ways on how to perform functions in an organization. Computers have important role in evolution of Information System. There have been a lot of applications of Information System in the organizations today including human resource operation as the main field of concern, accounting and  finance, logistics and planning among others. Internet is the recent development in the use of Information.  Studies have been carried out on Information System and its application but none of the studies have looked at the role Information System plays in typical organizational operational functions especially in the Human Resource Operations. This therefore leaves the gap in research that this paper sought to breach. The study is conducted through analysis of literature review from journals, and surveys. The paper therefore recommends that organizations should apply Information Systems in Human Resources operations  in order to reap these benefits.

The role of information systems and information technology is indispensable in a variety of fields of work and human resources required to have good quality so it could use the technology appropriately. The library is space that contained a lot of catalogs needed for learning and teachingas media seek knowledge and insight for students and lecturer, then the required information system that can hold all the information about then added data quickly and accurately. Therefore, the library shoidbeable to capitaliz on the presence of information technology to improve the quality of its services. It takes a strategic planning of information systems/information technology that isusedas the basis for the construction of an idea information system and in accordance with user needs.Strategic planning of information systems at the Library STMIK Palangka Raya using the methodology Wardand Peppard (Ward, 2002). With the strategic planning of the library can analyze and evaluate theexisting potential of the entire surroundings of the library in order to develop them selves in accordance with the progress of informationand communication technology as well as libraries have a guide in theform of strategies that should be run in the field of informationtechnolog y to improve its performance. It has a good performance of the library will be able to provide acompetitive advantage for the Organization so that it can continue tocompete in today's global era.

The role of Bank Trash becomes important as one of the organizations that is expected to be able to carry out the task to be able to provide an active solution to the trash problem in Prabumulih City. This study aims to analyze the condition of information systems and information technology (IS / TI), in the Trash Bank environtment. Trash Bank Prabumulih City was chosen as the object of research because the existence of garbage bank becomes a very important requirement at this time. The literature review is used as a method in reviewing journals to determine the role of information systems and information technology (IS / IT) in optimizing interactions between organizations, customers and the wider community. Inspection of Universities infringement (PT) is one of Controlling, Supervising and Guidance (dalwasbin) activities aimed at developing problematic universities in order to be back on track and able to run Tri Dharma of Higher Education in accordance with National Standard of Higher Education. Based on the results of evaluation and inspection of Higher Education in 2017 at Coordination of Private Higher Education Region XIV there found 29 Universities out of 61 Universities that committed violations. Management of infringement inspection of Higher Education requires the role of information technology due to the geographic area of the Higher Education and management of Higher Education inspection that is still manual causing management to be ineffective and inefficient.  Coordination of Private Higher Education Region XIV requires an information system that can support and assist data of infringement in universities and management of universities inspection. The design of information system in this research used waterfall method. The design of system models used unified modeling language diagrams (UML) including use case diagrams and activity diagrams. The design of this information system generated a system that can support the management of integrated and centralized infringement inspection to facilitate the inspection, monitoring and reporting of inputs and information for Coordination of Private Higher Education and the ministry in mapping the institutional quality Higher Education.
