Historically, Indian education has been elitist. Currently, India has the second largest education system in the world preceded by China. In order to meet the demand for coveted dental education, private dental colleges have sprung across the country, making the access easy for the students to enroll into dental education programmes after their higher secondary education. This  has lead to a suspicion whether these dental students had been forced into a course that they did not aspire of and even if they actually chose the career, are they performing  as good as they expected to be once the  course commences. This questionnaire survey aims at discussing these issues and to prepare the Indian education system at both school and college level to encompass and implement an orientation and motivation program to overcome this.

Given the growing impact of Science and Technology, particularly, information and communication technologies on every dimension of human life today, many parts of the world have been quicker in their response to the change for their own betterment. The wise realize that education lies at the centre of development in all fields. Therefore, these nations are now focused on upgrading all tiers of education to equip their youth with all essential skills to not only survive but lead their nations through 21st century. Pakistan is, unfortunately, one of the countries that lag behind. It has been, though, successful in upgradation of higher education. A lot needs to be done to bring school and college education up to the mark. Higher secondary education needs specific focus as this stage marks transitional phase of a child from adolescence to early adulthood at 16-18; hence significant changes in child's overall personality.

It is evidenced that country which has a large number of the educated and skilled labour force has a higher potential to lead others in economic development. So, it can be said that the education increases the productivity of the population in general and of the labour force in particular, leading to increase in individual earnings or wages and as a result, contributing to economic growth. Secondary and higher secondary educated population as a labour force are trainable and adjusted as the requirements of the world-wide market. Secondary education now is the single largest provider of working people in all spheres of national productivity. This paper highlights the growth of secondary and higher secondary education of the country and examines the current problems and challenges related to secondary educational system in India. It has been found that the total number of students enrolled in and gross enrolment ratio of secondary education and higher secondary education reflect increasing trends over the period. It is found that there has been an improvement in gender parity, particularly at concerned education level shown by GPI. Although, the progress has been made in the secondary and higher secondary sector of education, the rate of progress does not correspond with the pace of requirement.

The article deals with the world rating of Ukrainian educational sphere according to The Global Competitiveness Report and UNESCO Science Report. It shows comparative indices of Ukraine in contrast to the other countries of these world ratings according to the “Quality of primary education”, “Penetration of primary education”, “Penetration of secondary education”, “Quality of secondary education”, “Quality of education in Sciences”, “Quality of school management”, “School access to the internet” and others. The article also defines strategic directions of reforming Ukrainian education system to improve its position in the world international ratings.

This article examines the essence of the research abilities of students formed in elective classes in biology as a category and factor of personal development. The content of the curriculum in biology is also considered, and activities aimed at achieving learning goals that are related to the development of skills are included. In modern secondary education of Kazakhstan, modernization processes successfully implemented in recent years, is carried out with the aim of its integration into the world educational space and approximation to international educational standards on the approval of standard rules of activity by types of general education organizations for the purposeful formation of research skills of students, which is determined at the legislative level "Research competence in the classification of A.V. Khutorsky is considered as an integral part of cognitive competence, which includes elements of methodological, supra-subject, logical activities, methods of organizing goal-setting, planning, analysis, reflection.

There is little research on elementary/secondary teacher preparation. Few teachers are called upon to teach astronomy specifically, or their astronomy teaching is peripheral to their main interest (e.g., general science at lower levels or physics at higher levels). Statistics indicate that large increases in student populations are expected throughout the world. “In 1997, 1.2 billion students were enrolled in schools around the world. Of these students, 668 million were in elementary-level programs, 398 million were in secondary programs, and 88 million were in higher education programs.” (Digest, 2002) These figures included large increases from the 1990 figures, e.g. 38% increase in secondary education and 68% in higher education for Africa, as opportunities to obtain an education and population both grew. (Digest, tables 395 and 412).
