PurposeThis conceptual paper studies how brand and business model architectures interact.Design/methodology/approachConfronting the literature on brand and business model architectures, a “problematizing review” perspective is taken in this article. To develop the conceptual framework, a cyclical process of theory generation based on a literature review and empirical evidence is used. Various interaction options between a brand and business model architecture are discussed in detail and illustrated with practical examples.FindingsThe conceptual grid allows positioning each brand and business model architectural move in a coherent way, emphasizing the alignment challenges of each positioning option. This study also sheds another light on “dynamic capabilities,” as companies not only need to mix, remix and orchestrate business model architecture decisions, but at the same time align these decisions with brand architecture decisions.Originality/valueBy confronting and integrating two research domains, a novel higher-order theoretical perspective is obtained. In this sense it contributes to a management school of thought that is more integrative and deals better with today's more complex and dynamic reality, in which business model and brand decisions cannot be taken independently.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to establish the extent to which prospective students can see a visible commitment to study gender in the UK business/management school curriculum prior to enrolment. Design/methodology/approach A content analysis of the descriptions of modules offered as part of business and management degrees offered by 112 UK universities was conducted. The analysis was restricted to the publicly available information on the websites visible to prospective students. Descriptive statistics regarding the distribution of gender topics across programmes and higher education institutions are presented in addition to university group affiliation (e.g. Russell Group) and accreditation in respect of variables. Findings The analysis reveals significant gaps in the undergraduate and taught postgraduate offerings of UK business schools that the authors suggest are reflective of subject silos, and institutional risk reduction strategies. Research limitations/implications The authors conclude by arguing that accreditation bodies can use their influence to leverage change and to ensure gender content becomes core to curriculum design and its visibility as part of the practice of management to prospective students. Originality/value This study provides a benchmark for the visibility of gender as an issue and perspective within UK business/management school offerings.

The vital physical characteristics of aggregates used in engineering and for interpretation of the genesis of naturally occurring sediment are shape and size of rocks. The mineralogical and physical composition of the rock is necessary to cater to the interaction within bounded space and soundings. Several image processing programs are available to measure the size and shape of various types of objects. The accuracy and reproducibility of the results of these imaging methods could be bettered. This paper aims to determine the aggregate dimension and volume to space behaviors through image processing tools. This study is extended investigation of the coarse aggregate shape properties such as area, volume, center of gravity (CG), elongation and flakiness index. Also, this paper discuss the development of an easy to use image processing tool to determine the shrinkage of soils due to lack of moisture content either because of natural ways/artificial ways. Two different types of soils including first sample near the SNU lake and second sample near Business Management School at Shiv Nadar University (SNU), India were collected. The samples were oven-dried over a period and shrinkage values were determined by Digital Image Processing (DIP) using MATLAB. The results are compared to wax-water method (manual method) results of shrinkage. The properties found by DIP method are reasonably agreeable for multiple aggregates and minor percentage differences in the soil shrinkage results.

Measurement/reading of the talents of each personal educator(teacher) and education personnel need to be done. Among the applications that can be used to take such measurements is to use the Talents Mapping application. Measurement with Talents Mapping aims to analyze the suitability of talent with the field of work, and provide recommendations of the results of reading the talent on the leadership/management. Before the measurement is done, it is necessary to explain talents mapping. This is necessary to provide initial insights and knowledge about Talents Mapping, and the measurement methods to be performed. After the measurement results are obtained, discussions can be made on the results of these measurements. The results of measuring/reading the talents of each personal educator and education personnel with the Talents Mapping Application is expected to help determine the suitability of talent with the field of work pursued by educators and education personnel, as well as provide recommendations of the results of reading the talent to the management/school leadership   Keywords: Talents Mapping, Talent, Educators, Educational personnel, Strength Topology   Abstrak   Pengukuran/pembacaan bakat tiap personal tenaga pendidik(guru) dan tenaga kependidikan perlu dilakukan. Background—The Global Asthma Network (GAN) Phase I is surveying school pupils in high-income and low- or middle-income countries using the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) methodology. Methods—Cross-sectional surveys of participants in two age groups in randomly selected schools within each centre (2015–2020). The compulsory age group is 13–14 years (adolescents), optionally including parents or guardians. Six to seven years (children) and their parents are also optional. Adolescents completed questionnaires at school, and took home adult questionnaires for parent/guardian completion. Children took home questionnaires for parent/guardian completion about the child and also adult questionnaires. Questions related to symptoms and risk factors for asthma and allergy, asthma management, school/work absence and hospitalisation. Results—53 centres in 20 countries completed quality checks by 31 May 2020. These included 21 centres that previously participated in ISAAC. There were 132,748 adolescents (average response rate 88.8%), 91,802 children (average response rate 79.1%), and 177,622 adults, with >97% answering risk factor questions and >98% answering questions on asthma management, school/work absence and hospitalisation. Conclusion—The high response rates achieved in ISAAC have generally been maintained in GAN. GAN Phase I surveys, partially overlapping with ISAAC centres, will allow within-centre analyses of time-trends in prevalence.

Modern economic science pays considerable attention to the study of labor economics, an integral part of which is the problem of human resources in the production of material goods. The study of this problem has been initiated by the scientific labor management school and Nikolay Vitke. His work and ideas were undeservedly forgotten and they require more attention. The authors’ goal is to draw ones attention to the fact that the concept authorship of human relations, the beginning of the problem development of communication between psychology and management was initiated by domestic scientists. Later, this concept was developed in numerous of works of foreign scientists, who consider the authors of the American psychologist and sociologist E. Mayo. The concept of N.A.
