TELD stands for “Teaching by Examples and Learning by Doing.” It is an on-line courseware engine over the World Wide Web. There are four folds of meanings in TELD. First, TELD represents a teaching and learning method that unifies a number of contemporary methods such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in medical education, Project-Based Learning (PBL) in engineering education, and Case Method (CM) in business education. Second, TELD serves as a Web server for hosting teaching and learning materials especially based on the TELD method. A variety of on-line facilities are provided for editing and uploading course materials such as syllabus, schedule, curriculum, examples of case study, exercises of mini-project, formative and summative assessments, etc. Third, TELD is a courseware search engine where educators are able to register their course materials and search for materials suitable for a particular course. In contrast with general-purpose search engines, TELD is set up for the special purpose of education. Therefore, the time and efforts spent on surfing are expected to be reduced dramatically. Finally, TELD is an on-line virtual classroom for electronic delivery of electronic curriculum materials. In addition to providing the lecture notes, TELD not only provides discussion questions for conducting in-class discussions and homework as formative assessment but also provides facilities for students to plan and submit their group work. This article presents an overview of the TELD courseware engine together with its background and underlying philosophy.

<p>This study aims to explain the learning models of flipped virtual classroom that can be applied in virtual classrooms in discourse analysis in Translation courses. When teaching, the learning model is explained by using video as an appropriate and efficient choice pattern to achieve learning objectives.  Flipped virtual classroom is a learning model that transfers synchronous virtual classroom models to asynchronous virtual classroom models. The research method in this discourse analysis in Translation course was through literary sources. The purpose of the research is to provide information about virtual learning methods as a means of enhancing learning and language proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia combined with translation reflection theory.  The virtual learning model can be combined with variations of learning models such as: Problem-based Learning, Inquiry-based Learning, Project-based Learning, Research-based Learning.  In conclusion, through the choice of an asynchronous virtual classroom learning model and the application of discourse analysis in Translation as a reflection activity in translation, students are able to make a more detailed and deeper translation analysis.</p>

After Bologna declaration, the change of roles between student and instructor in Spanish Higher Education has meant the search of new strategies to improve student engagement. In fact, they are trying to transform the previous extremely instructor-centred model to a learner-centred model. In this line, many courses of Higher Education have used new learning methods, such as problem-based learning, project-based learning or flipped classroom, during the last decade. Faculty also is able to count on new tools, for example, virtual classrooms. In this paper, we analyse the use of  a virtual classroom in an elective course of the Degree in Mathematics at the University of the Basque Country to detect the assignments to improve student engagement and the impact on achievement of competences. We conclude that the inclusion of collaborative assignments in virtual classrooms increases their use and, hence, student engagement. Moreover, the acquisition of competences is also getting stronger, as the percentage of students that pass the course increases.

This study aims to determine the implementation and improvement of learning outcomes in the virtual classroom method through Project Based Learning (PBL) method on learning Japanese grammar. The application of PBL in virtual classrooms is an alternative for active learning. Virtual classroom is one form of learning space that applies the use of current technology to shorten and eliminate distance and space, where learning is able to be carried out through social media. PBL itself emphasizes the learner’s ability to apply learning into daily life through certain projects. This study uses a quasi-experimental method. The sample or data source of this research was students in semester 3 of the Japanese Language Education Study Program at one of the private universities in Jakarta. Based on the Mann Whitney test using SPSS 25, the sig value was 0.001. Because the value of sig = 0,000 0.005, there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test values between before and after the application of the virtual classroom method through PBL. Based on the results of the gain in pre-test and post-test values, the result was 17%. So it can be concluded that PBL implementation in the virtual classroom cannot increase the value of learning outcomes in learning Japanese grammar.

This study aims to see the implementation of project based learning methods (PBL) implemented by lecturers in the Science, Technology and Engineering P&P processes in Islam as an effort to enhance students' understanding in the Fiqh Method. Respondents in this study were students of second semester, Diploma of Mechanical Engineering program, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politeknik Banting. Observation and interview methods are used for data collection purposes. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in narrative form. The findings show that PBL activity is a fun and enjoyable P&P activity for students. Abstrak Kajian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  melihat  perlaksanaan  kaedah  pembelajaran  berasaskan  projek  (PBL)  yang dilaksanakan  oleh  pensyarah  dalam  proses  P&P Sains,  Teknologi  dan  kejuruteraan  dalam  Islam  sebagai usaha  meningkatkan  kefahaman  pelajar  pelajar  dalam  tajuk  Kaedah Fiqh.  Responden  dalam  kajian  ini adalah   terdiri   daripada   pelajar   semester   dua   progran   Diploma   Kejuruteraan   Mekanikal,   Jabatan Kejuruteraan  Mekanikal,  Politeknik  Banting.  Kaedah  pemerhatian  dan  temu  bual  digunakan  bagi  tujuan pengutipan data. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan dipersembahkan dalam bentuk naratif. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan aktiviti PBL merupakan aktiviti P&P yang disukai dan menyeronokkan bagi para pelajar.
