The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of simulation with problem based learning on learning self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability on nursing students in South Korea. The study was used one group pre-post test design, conducted on 65 nursing students in C Province and from August 27th to November 14th 2018. The study purpose was explained to the subject and a written informed consent was obtained. The participants were divided into three classes of five groups each. Every group consisted of four to five students. Simulation linked problem based learning was conducted for a total of nine hours: three hours a week over a period of three weeks. The differences between self-efficacy, problem solving ability, and critical thinking tendency were examined before and after simulation linked problem based learning. Data were collected through a self-reported questionnaire and analyzed using t-test, paired-t-test, Pearson's correlation. The scores of learning self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition after the simulation with problem-based learning were significantly higher than before simulation with problem-based learning. Learning self-efficacy after S-PBL had a significant positive correlation with critical thinking tendency and problem-solving ability, and there was a correlation between critical thinking tendency and the degree of problem-solving ability. As simulation with problem based learning improves the learning self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition of nursing students, it is necessary to develop scenarios based on various clinical cases and to operate a learning method to experience the problem-solving process.

The aim of this study is to improve students' critical thinking skills through a problem based learning model in class IV SDN Ende 1. The type of research used in this study is classroom action research consisting of several interrelated cycles and the model chosen in this study is a Kemis and Mc Tagart model which consists of several stages namely planning, action, observation and reflection, where actions and observations are carried out together. The subjects of this study were 21 students in class IV SDN Ende 1. Based on the results of data analysis in classroom action research shows that the learning feasibility by applying the learning model Problem Based Learning has increased namely 81.5% in the first cycle and 94% in the second cycle, therefore it can be said that the learning process has been carried out very well and in accordance with the reference in the lesson plan that has been made. While the results of observations of student activities during learning by applying  model of problem based learning have increased, which is proved by the increase in the average score of student learning activities in the first cycle by 55% and the second cycle by 87%. This improvement shows that during the learning process students were actively involved in solving problems. The results of the students’ critical thinking ability test of the first cycle can be seen that, there are 9 students or 43% who reach the KKM standard, while 12 students or 57% do not reach the value of 70 in accordance with the minimum completeness criteria set by the school. While the second cycle is known that as many as 21 students (100%) have succeeded and reached the indicator of critical thinking. The highest score obtained by student is 90 and the lowest score is 70 with an average value of 80% in the critical category. Therefore, the implementation of research by applying the problem based learning model ends in the second cycle . So, through research that has been done, by applying the Problem Based Learning model it is proven that it can improve the critical thinking skills of class IV students whose critical thinking test results are complete or meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM).

During teaching and learning process, the students tended to be passive and the class was dominated by the teacher. This situation made the students’ activity in learning became low as they just memorized the concepts instead of understood them. This research was aimed at improving students’ activity and ability in problem solving in Math through problem-based learning model. This was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. The data of this research was collected through observation sheet and a test. The data gotten then was analyzed descriptively. The result of the research showed that the use of problem-based learning model could improve the first year students’ activity and ability of problem solving in Math at SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. Students’ activities in completing LKS, asking questions to the teachers and peers, answering questions from the teachers and peers, presenting the result of group discussion and drawing a conclusion had been in very good category. In problem solving, the percentage of the students who had gained the minimum standard of achievement (KKM) improved from 61,30% in the first cycle into 82,14% in the second cycle.
