ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying vermicompost fertilizer and POC Nasa on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research has been carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University for 4 months, starting from July to October 2018. The design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is vermicompost fertilizer (K) which consists of 4 levels namely 0, 200, 400, 600 g / plot and the second factor is POC Nasa (P) consisting of 4 levels namely 0, 2, 4, 6 cc / l water. The parameters observed in this study were plant height, harvest age, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per sample, dry tuber weight per sample, tuber weight loss. The last observation data were statistically analyzed and continued with a BNJ follow-up test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of vermicompost fertilizer and poc nasa interaction significantly affected the parameters of plant height, age of harvest, the number of tubers per clump, dry tuber weight per sample, shrinkage of tuber weight, and the application of vermicompost fertilizer and poc nasa interactively had no significant effect on wet tuber weight parameters per sample with the best treatment is a concentration of 600 g / plot (K3) and 6 cc / water (P3) is a dose of 44.80 grams/plot. The effects of preharvest, foliar applications of mefluidide (N-(2,4-dimethyl-5-(((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)amino)phenyl)-acetamide) to potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants on subsequent periderm development and on storage quality of Russet Burbank and Norchip tubers were investigated. Mefluidide application caused adnormal periderm development in tubers of both cultivars and resulted in increased tuber weight loss during storage due to enhanced water loss rather than to elevated respiration. Treatment with mefluidide 5 wk before harvest resulted in greater tuber weight loss in storage than treatment 7 wk before harvest. After ca. 26 wk storage, sucrose content generally increased in tubers from treated Russet Burbank plants but not in corresponding Norchip tubers. Despite a perceived periderm enhancement, the abnormal periderm development which increased water loss in stored tubers would suggest that mefluidide has little potential as a preharvest treatment to reduce tuber damage and improve storage of Russet Burbank and Norchip potatoes.Key words: Potato, mefluidide, storage, Russet Burbank, Norchip, periderm

The results of a study of the effectiveness of the joint application of potato mineral and organic fertilizers are presented. The studies were carried out in 2017–2018. on the drained lands of the Tver region. Objects of research - potatoes of the Scarb variety, mineral and organic fertilizers in various doses. Organic fertilizers are products of the processing of organic raw materials based on fermentation processes - multipurpose compost (KMN) and BiGuEM. Mineral fertilizers - ammonium nitrate, double superphosphate and potassium chloride. In the work we used experimental methods - field experiments and theoretical research methods - mathematical statistics. Evaluation of the optimal fertilizer doses showed that BiHuEM organic fertilizer at a dose of 3 t / ha, when used together with mineral fertilizers at a dose equivalent to 3 t BiGuEM, provided potato resistance to late blight compared to the version where KMN was used - almost 8% in 2017 and 12% - in 2018, and compared with the option without the use of fertilizers (control) - by 61% and 23%, respectively. This combination of fertilizers provided the maximum yield (both general and marketable) in comparison with the control by 45% when calculating both types of yield in 2017, and in 2018 by 38% of the total and 53% of the commodity yield. A greater increase in potato yield was also revealed in the variant with BiGueM in comparison with the variant of using KMN - by 4.5% and 5.7% in 2017 and in 2018 by 6.1% and 10%, respectively. An increase in the quality of potatoes was noted, which is confirmed by the low content of nitrates in them, as well as by the increased content of starch, which was especially noted in 2017 - 34.3 g / kg and 15.99%, respectively.

The addition of nutrients for garlic plants consists of two type, namely the application of anorganic fertilizers in the form of single fertilizers N, P, K and organic fertilizers such as manure. The purpose of this study was to obtain the right dose of single fertilizer N, P, K and chicken manure. The experiment was arranged using a Randomized Block Design with 4 replications. The treatments consisted of 9 treatment combinations consisting of A = 100% single fertilizer + 15 tons of manure, B = 100% single fertilizer + 10 tons of manure, C = 100% single fertilizer + 5 tons of manure, D = 75% single fertilizer + 15 tons of manure, E = 75% single fertilizer + 10 tons of manure, F = 75% single fertilizer + 5 tons of manure, G = 50% single fertilizer + 15 tons of manure, H = 50% single fertilizer + 10 tons of manure, I = 50% single fertilizer + 5 tons of manure. The dose of 100% single fertilizer was SP36 375 kg.ha-1, ZA 1.144 kg.ha-1and KCl 200 kg.ha-1. The type of manure used is chicken manure. The results showed that doses of 75% and 100% of single fertilizer combined with 15 ton.ha-1 resulted in the wet and dry weight of the stover, the diameter and weight of the tubers, which were the same, respectively, the dry weight of the stover 32,57 grams and 39,40 grams, the dry weight of the stover. 17,43 grams and 17,63 grams, tuber diameter 33,09 and 33,13, tuber weight 14,07 grams and 14,30 grams. These results tend to be higher than other treatments. 75% single fertilizer and 15 ton.ha-1 chicken manure can be recommended for fertilization in garlic production.
