The meridians and acupoints of human bodies at natural condition are investigated among 30 healthy volunteers by infrared thermal imaging technique. The results give clear evidence of the existence of infrared radiant tracks along human meridian courses. The time dependent evolution of the infrared radiant track is observed for the first time. The time rhythm of acupoints is also studied. Our findings not only support the view that infrared radiant tracks along human meridian courses is a normal vital and physiological phenomenon appearing in human beings, but also offer a potential method for noninvasive diagnostic by studying the physiological function and pathological change of meridians or acupoints by means of thermography.

The infrared thermal imagery technology receives more and more attention in the civil engineering because of its unique advantages. But there is still room for more in-depth theoretical and experimental studies in the aspect of its applicable scope, test method, the result and the precision analysis and so on. Through the research of the infrared thermogram of water-containing and insulation-free roof specimen and glass fiber insulation roofing specimen, this paper mainly analyzes the factors which influence detection of the roof leakage by using infrared thermal method and gives some suggestion for the application of infrared thermal imaging in the roof leak detection. Thus it provides the theory basis and the technical reference for the actual infrared non-destructive testing.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is obtained by cooling the gas temperature to -162 degree. Problems with the steel cans, the insulation layer or the concrete tank of the LNG tank can lead to changes of the temperature, local temperature decreases, and the safety of the tank is threatening. Through the combination of many sets of infrared thermal imager to monitor the temperature of the LNG storage tank’s sidewall, analyze the heat imagine, establish the corresponding relationship between the locations on the sidewall of the LNG tank and on the heat imagine, determine the position of the temperature point on the tank wall. Infrared thermal imaging technique for the sidewall of LNG storage tank can find out the heat abnormal conditions and fixing the temperature drop area in time, and provide powerful guarantee for the safe storage of the liquefied natural gas.

We have detected defects micro-pipes and a cluster of impurities in semi-insulating 6H-SiC substrates using long-wavelength infrared thermal imaging camera (IR-camera) with 8 ~ 14 µm in non-destructive and non-contact. Also we have evaluated the thermal influence of defects on the entire substrates from the observation results of scanning laser microscope (SLM) and light scattering tomography (LST). Through the process, it was certificated that the defects in the substrates could be detected with relatively macroscopic scale (8  6 mm2). Moreover, through a temperature profile processing by a 0.1 K thermal resolution, we estimated thermal behavior of the defect areas in the 6H-SiC precisely. The IR-camera is considered as effective technique for evaluating the defects in the intermediate range between micro and macro scale.
