Abstract I respond to Moll, Nichols, and Mackey’s review of my book Becoming Human. I agree with many of their points, but have my own point of view on some others.

The scientific and methodological approach to the evaluation and analysis of the efficiency of system management by innovation factors for sustainable development of national economy from the point of view satisfaction vital interest’s population is developed. This is the calculation of the modernized index human development based on the adjective model based on 26 indicators (social, economic and environmental subsystems), as well as using the methods of the main components and the slip matrix. The resultant value is the modernized Human Development Index (MHDІ) of Ukraine. The architectonics MHDІ of Ukraine in 2007–2017 from the position of sub-indices of the ecological, social and economic subsystems is analyzed. Consequently, the scientific and methodological approach based on the MHDI change allows us to draw conclusions regarding the effectiveness of the work and public administration bodies in the context of making managerial decisions regarding the satisfaction of the vital interest’s population. MHDI considers the main regulated parameter of the system management in the innovation factors of sustainable development in socially oriented economy. The tendency of steady decline MHDI of Ukraine in 2007–2017 on 53.45 % was confirmed, which confirms inefficient state regulation of crisis situations in Ukraine. In order to increase the efficiency management of innovative factors by sustainable development of the national economy, from the standpoint of satisfaction vital interest’s population, it is proposed to intensify the use of public debt and savings bonds, market and non-market methods of relief and debt load. This is due to the fact that at the current stage of development in the national economy, public external debt is one of the most significant indicators of the state economy. It is at the same time a criterion for the effectiveness of public financial policy, as well as a threat and opportunity for the Ukrainian economy. In order to optimize its size, various methods, approaches, tools are used. Based on the analysis of world experience, it has been established that the securities market, in particular debt securities, plays a strategic role in regulating this issue. Therefore, it makes sense to recommend government debt bonds and government savings bonds to optimize the amount of external public debt.

For obvious and very good reasons the study of human communication is dominated by the study of language. But from a psychological point of view, the basic structure of human communication – how it works pragmatically in terms of the intentions and inferences involved - is totally independent of language. The most important data here are acts of human communication that do not employ conventions. In situations in which language is for some reason not an option, people often produce spontaneous, non-conventionalized gestures, including most prominently pointing (deictic gestures) and pantomiming (iconic gestures). These gestures are universal among humans and unique to the species, and in human evolution they almost certainly preceded conventional communication, either signed or vocal. For prelinguistic infants to communicate effectively via pointing and pantomiming, they must already possess species-unique and very powerful skills and motivations for shared intentionality as pragmatic infrastructure. Conventional communication is then built on top of this infrastructure - or so I will argue.

From the cradle to the grave, life experiences lead to one making important decisions regarding relationships that may take a person by surprise! The purpose of this chapter is to examine how each decision made throughout the course of a lifetime can bring about a lifetime of happiness due to a fulfilling relationship rather than forever chasing rainbows waiting for “Mr. Right.” The theories providing the basis for this chapter are Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Eric Erickson's study of human development. A closer look at parent influences shaping decisions regarding relationships will be discussed from a psychological point of view. Attributes of family therapy will relate to the influence parents have on the decisions made which are connected to a fulfilling, “or not,” relationship. Generational components affect relationships and the characteristics of how partnerships are formed due to those characteristics will be relayed. Finally, what constitutes a fulfilling partnership as opposed to one that disintegrates with each passing day has an important piece to this chapter.

Abstract.SCHOOL AND DATING VIOLENCE IN ADOLESCENCE. THE ROLE OF LONELINESSThe aim of this study was to carry out a first approach to the analysis of the role of loneliness in school and dating violence in adolescence. It is considered that both violence, together with loneliness, are reasons of concern and interest for both researchers and professionals, as well as being scarce the work that exists on both violence. From the theoretical point of view, the ecological model of human development is assumed as a guide and orientation. The study participants were 1671 subjects, 49.73% boys and 50.27% adolescent girls, aged 14 to 18 years of age (M = 15.63, SD = 1.31). The results of the correlation analysis indicate that there is an association between school and dating violence. In addition, significant differences were found between boys and girls in terms of loneliness, since while in boys it is a factor that correlates with both variables, in girls there are hardly any significant correlations with the dimensions of school or dating violence. Keywords: violence, adolescence, gender, loneliness.

In the last few decades, within the rhetoric of the “information age”, there is a growing enthusiasm for the (potential) benefits of the dissemination of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). This is further enhanced through eGovernment projects undertaken on a worldwide scale. However, a number of issues seem to defy such optimism as far as rural areas are concerned. The critical review of such issues question the thesis that ICTs undoubtedly benefit (human) development. In particular, this paper, drawing on data from a large-scale survey in Greece, identifies the marginal effects of a series of demographic, socioeconomic and spatial characteristics, and information sources on PC and Internet use on the part of young rural inhabitants, especially farmers. The results, pointing toward an emerging intra-rural digital divide, are consequently discussed vis-à-vis eGovernment projects, from the point of view of human development.
