This paper presents a nonlinear numerical study on the moment resistance of composite steel-concrete beam using fire insulation subjected to various fire scenarios and basic loading conditions. The temperature-dependent material properties of fire insulation, concrete and steel were taken into consideration. The nonlinear finite element analysis was done by utilizing a commercial finite element program, ABAQUS. The obtained moment capacity of the composite I-beam from the current fire code was also performed and compared. The results showed that the fire scenarios and the fire insulation thickness have a great influence on the temperature distribution and strength degradation of the composite beam. The capacity of the beam in hydrocarbon fires, which is the most severe scenario, decreases faster than that in ISO834 standard fire and external fire. The fire resistance of the beam increases as the fire insulation thickness increases due to the temperature degradation in the steel beam. The calculated results from the current fire codes give conservative value at normal temperature and low temperature. The current fire codes can give unconservative values at high temperature when there is a great temperature discrepancy between parts of the beam. A new factor was proposed to determine the fire moment resistance of the composite beam with non-uniform temperature.

<p>The problem of bridge fires is growing. Because of a bad experience in Poland, it was decided to improve fire resistance of long span bridge structures, and of cable-stayed bridges in particular. Statistics shows that fire is a real threat to this kind of structure. They also confirm that the worst results of fire are for those with an orthotropic deck rather than with a concrete one. The basic problems to solve are how to predict fire resistance of a particular bridge and how to ensure safety and structural integrity of the bridge structure. Taking into account the fact that bridge standards do not include information relating to fire protection, and fire standards do not determine rules for design, construction and maintenance of such structures, there are no regulations for this problem. Fire scenarios are devoted to buildings, but the thermo-structural behavior of bridges is different.</p>

Over the past decade, several types of composite slim floor constructions have been used in multi-storey buildings in Lithuania. In order to study the efficiency of composite beam application in steel-framed multi-storey buildings, Thorbeam (A1), Deltabeam (A2), slim floor beam (A3) and asymmetric slim floor beam (A4) were chosen and evaluated according to nine assessment criteria (beam cost (K1), initial preparation on site (K2), installation time (K3), complexity of installation technology (K4), labour costs (K5), fire resistance (K6), load bearing capacity (K7), beam versatility (K8), and availability of beams (K9)). First, the significance of the rating criteria was selected and the order of the ranking criteria was obtained (K1˃K7˃K3˃K6˃K4˃K5˃K2˃K8˃K9) by means of a survey questionnaire. Second, the beams were ranked according to the points given by the questionnaire respondents as follows: 160 points were given to A2, 144 points to A1, 129 points to A4, and 111 points to A3. Deltabeam is considered to be the most rational alternative of the four beams compared. Calculations done using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) analysis method revealed that composite beam A2 was the best slim floor structure alternative for an eight-storey high-rise commercial residential building frame, A1 ranked second, A4 ranked third, and A3 ranked fourth. In addition, the four composite beams were compared to a reinforced concrete beam (A5) according to three assessment criteria (beam cost including installation (C1), beam self-weight (C2) and fire resistance (C3)). Deltabeam was found to be efficient for use as a slim floor structure in a multi-story building due to having the lowest cost, including installation, and self-weight, and the highest fire resistance compared to other composite beams studied. Although Deltabeams are 1.4 times more expensive than reinforced concrete beams, including installation costs, they save about 2.5% of the building’s height compared to reinforced concrete beams.

Concrete-Filled Steel Tube with high capacity, good ductility and toughness, convenient construction, good fire resistance and other advantages. Currently[1] . Concrete-Filled Steel Tube structure has been widely used in the basic components and the overall structure of behavioral research has made many achievements. There are many advantages of concrete pipe above, but it also has fatal flaws, Stainless steel steel that is the difference[2]. The stainless steel has a beautiful appearance, durability, corrosion resistance, low maintenance costs, good fire resistance and other advantages. New stainless steel pipe concrete structure has both ordinary steel concrete good mechanical properties and excellent durability of stainless steel, can be widely used in buildings and bridges of the marine environment as well as some of the high durability and aesthetic requirements important building structures. Based on the outer stainless steel hollow sandwich - the carbon steel pipe shaft of light pressure test concrete results of load and displacement of the structure, variation of load and strain, and the impact of the empty heart of these parameters.

At the commercial use stage in sodium-cooled fast breeder reactors, securing maintenance and repair better than an equal to that of present water-cooled reactors is needed. Especially a repair technology that secures the plant integrity for long-term operation period becomes indispensable in the heat exchanger tubes of the steam generator that form the boundary of sodium and water coolants. Then the present study focused on the standardization of welding technology with a laser. An experimental study regarding the welding of a stainless steel plate with the laser using fine metal powders is being performed. Moreover, a numerical study is performed to simulate the welding of the fine metal powder on the stainless steel plate. The fine metal powder is made of iron, and is heated by the laser beam, and then melts exceeding the melting temperature. This paper reports the computational results of the welding phenomenon of some metal powders which changes from solid to liquid and liquid to solid. The results were compared with the experimental results qualitatively.
