Abstract Background Understanding how living arrangements may affect psychological well-being (PWB) is critical in China, a society with the largest older population in the world. However, few studies have examined the moderating effect of income sources on the relationship between living arrangements and PWB. Our aim was to examine whether living arrangements are associated with PWB and whether income sources moderate this association. Methods The data were drawn from the third (2002) to sixth (2011/2012) waves of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS). Six questions reflecting older adults’ well-being were used to measure PWB. Living arrangements were classified as follows: living alone, living with family and living in an institution. Income sources were categorized into financially independent, supported by children, and governmental support. We performed random-effects ordinal probit models to examine the association of living arrangements with PWB and the moderating effect of income sources on this relationship. Results We included a total sample of 30,899 observations for 16,020 respondents aged 65 and over during 9-year follow-up. Older adults living with family (β = .29, p < .001) and those living in an institution (β = .34, p < .001) had stronger PWB than those living alone; moreover, support from children (β= −.24, p < .001) or from the government (β= −.08, p < .05) has a negative effect on PWB compared to the effect of financial self-support. Living in an institution with support from children (β= −.22, p < .05) led to lower PWB than living alone with financial self-support. The opposite result was observed for older adults living with their family and supported by the government (β = .16, p < .05). Conclusions Our analysis provides a significant contribution to the existing literature on the relationship between living arrangements and PWB in China. We recognize that living with family or in an institution leads to better PWB than does living alone. In addition, financial support from the government can moderate this association.

The study investigates the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between personal resources (mindfulness, self-leadership) and psychological well-being (burnout, work engagement) for a sample of 226 public sector employees in South Africa. Both mindfulness and self-leadership have a statistically significant positive influence on psychological capital, while psychological capital mediated the relationship between both mindfulness and work engagement, and mindfulness and burnout. psychological capital also mediates the relationship between both self-leadership and engagement, and self-leadership and burnout. Psychological capital has a statistically significant positive influence on work engagement and a statistically significant negative influence on burnout. The results show that mindfulness and self-leadership strategies can enhance psychological capital, reducing burnout and increasing engagement. Point for practitioners The public sector requires energised employees to serve the public despite demanding circumstances. Therefore, management must find ways to support employees in increasing work engagement levels and avoiding burnout. Since personal resources (mindfulness, self-leadership, psychological capital) are shown to enhance engagement and decrease burnout, managers and human resource managers can build these individual resources through training and development, and consider them in recruitment processes.

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between psychological capital, psychological well-being and job satisfaction of teachers. The research is a descriptive study in relational screening model. The research model includes three variables; one independent variable (psychological capital) and other two dependent variables (job satisfaction and psychological well-being). In the structural model, job satisfaction variable may also be expressed as mediator variable. The study population consists of 12714 teachers working in official secondary schools in seven central districts in Ankara Province in 2017-2018 academic year. Sample of the population is selected by multi-stage sampling method. Stratified sampling method is used in the first stage and simple random sampling method is used in the second stage. Sample size is calculated as at least 384 teachers. In the research, Psychological Capital Scale developed by Luthans, Youssef &amp; Avolio (2007b); Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire developed by Weiss, Dawis, Lofquist &amp; England (1967) and Psychological Well-Being Scale developed by Ryff (1989) were used as data collection tools. Scales which are pre-implemented within the scope of the research yielded valid and reliable results. Data analysis was done with SPSS 23.0 and LISREL 8.87 statistics software packages. According to the results obtained from the research, it was determined that teachers&rsquo; psychological capital perception was &ldquo;good&rdquo; and their job satisfaction and psychological well-being are &ldquo;high&rdquo;. According to the results of the analysis by means of structural equality modelling, it was determined that teachers&rsquo; psychological capital perception affects their job satisfaction and psychological well-being levels positively and predicts them significantly; and it was also determined that job satisfaction has a partial mediator role in the relationship between teachers&rsquo; psychological capital perception and their psychological well-being.

This paper aims to investigate the impact of spirituality on the psychological well-being of the consumers involved in reusing as sustainable consumption behavior (SCB). In addition to this, the study also investigates the mediating effect of reusing as SCB between spirituality and psychological well-being. The moderating effect of religiosity has also been taken into account while studying the relationship between spirituality and reusing. A survey was conducted to collect the data from clothing industry consumers using a structured questionnaire and employing a convenience sampling approach. PLS-SEM was used to analyze the useable data of 286 respondents. Results validate that spirituality has a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being. Further, reusing (SCB) was found to be a significant mediator, also the moderating effect of religiosity on the relationship between spirituality and reusing was significant and high. This study contributes to the existing literature by concentrating on predictors that undermine psychological well-being. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is one of the early studies to contribute to the literature by investigating the impact of spirituality on consumer psychological well-being specifically reusing (SCB) as a mediator between the two constructs. Further, it also investigated the moderating impact of religiosity on the relationship between spirituality and reusing. Research findings have implications for researchers, policymakers, marketers, ecologists, social activists, and practitioners. For research students, such contribution will bring a new avenue to consider further research. Managers will find help to control such factors which induce reusing and increase psychological well-being.
