The Matra 530 is currently called a second generation air-to-air missile. Indeed the first generation of air-to-air missiles was represented in France by the Nord 5103 which was command-guided, or the Matra 511 which was a semi-active, pure pursuit curve missile. In the second part of the 1950's the requirement was obvious for a sophisticated interception system capable of coping with the high and medium altitude threat represented by heavy and medium bombers. The destruction of this threat required a close link with an interception system composed of ground radars, ground control equipment, sophisticated high performance interceptor aircraft and, as a last link, a very high performance missile. From the French Air Force point of view, the two main characteristics of this missile as the last link of an interceptor system, were first its flexibility in different weather environment and counter measure environment; second, its capability to decrease to the maximum the penetration of the enemy bomber, which meant that the missile should be capable of attacking not only in the rear sector but also in frontal attack and in fact in all sectors around the attacking bomber.

In some parts of Algeria, the alluvial deposits are depleted. Optimizing the use of available resources, has become gradually urgent need and more and more important. Algeria does not remain on the sidelines of this idea, an approach is part of a sustainable development has been developed to make available to the manufacturer a steady stream of material coming from the exploitation of limestone. The importance of this production can be explained by the activity of the carrier ever growing sector. Research programs have been launched in Algeria to focus on aspects, related to the composition of concrete and influence of the nature of the constituents on the mechanical mixing quality, especially compressive strength remains the point of view of the engineer, the most important property of the material, if we exclude the sustainability indicators. Usual concretes were made using local materials. Results showed that the intrinsic properties of the constituents of concrete, and particularly studied the crushed aggregate, provide the concrete characteristics resistors quite satisfactory. To go further and in a growing cares about improving the mechanical strength of these concretes we tried to formulate a very high performance concrete (VHPC) made from local crushed aggregate, in this case the crushed limestone sands as a resource alternative to over-exploited rolled sands. The objective of this study is to enhance the crushed sand in the formulation of VHPC. The referred physical-mechanical performances are related to defer deformations within time (shrinkage) and instantaneous mechanical compressive and flexural strength.

The biomass is such a row material that is available in large quantities and it can be utilizied by the biotechnology in the future. Nowadays the technology which can process ligno cellulose and break down into fermentable sugars is being researched. One possible field of use of biomass is the liquid fuel production such as ethanol production. Based on the literary life cycle analysis, I compared the starch-based (first generation) to cellulose-based (second generation) bioethanol production in my study considering into account various environmental factors (land use, raw material production, energy balance). After my examination I came to the conclusion that the use of bioethanol, independent of its production technology, is favorable from environmental point of view but the application of second generation bioethanol has greater environmentally benefits.

Railway vehicle service speeds are set to increase from the present 300 km/h. These developments are being spearheaded by the French, German, Italian and Japanese railways. It is also clear in other less glamorous areas such as freight and suburban operations, that the trends in vehicle design are going to put severe burdens on the braking technology available today. These initiatives included the advanced suburban bogie for British Railways. While it will be possible to squeeze some further improvements out of conventional products, it has become essential to initiate work on new materials which not only meet the immediate demands but address the requirements of the middle- and long-term. Some proposals such as carbon/carbon may be impractical from a cost point of view on anything other than exotic high-speed vehicles but studies involving ceramic to ceramic interfaces are proving interesting with a real possibility of providing high performance at an economical cost for a large spread of applications. The paper will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities to be grasped and solved.

Abstract Background: The mortality of COVID-19 differs between countries and regions. By now, reports on COVID-19 are largely focused on first-generation cases. This study aimed to clarify the clinical characteristics of imported and second-generation cases. Methods : This retrospective, multicenter cohort study included 134 confirmed COVID-19 cases from 9 cities outside Wuhan. Epidemiological, clinical and outcome data were extracted from medical records and were compared between severe and non-severe cases. We further profiled the dynamic laboratory findings of some patients. Results : 34.3% of the 134 patients were severe cases, and 11.2% had complications. As of March 7, 2020, 91.8% patients were discharged and one patient (0.7%) died. Age, lymphocyte count, C-reactive protein, erythrocytes edimentation rate, direct bilirubin, lactate dehydrogenase, hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase showed difference between severe and no-severe cases (all P<0.05). Baseline lymphocyte count was higher in the survived patients than in the non-survivor case, and it increased as the condition improved, but declined sharply when death occurred. The interleukin-6 level displayed a downtrend in survivors, but rose very high in the death case. Pulmonary fibrosis was found on later chest CT images in 51.5% of the pneumonia cases. Conclusion : Imported and second-generation cases outside Wuhan had a better prognosis than initial cases in Wuhan. Lymphocyte count and IL-6 level could be used for evaluating prognosis. Pulmonary fibrosis as the sequelae of COVID-19 should be taken into account.

This paper reports the results from Gallup’s global analysis of the likelihood of first-generation migrants, second-generation migrants and the native-born to send financial help in the form of money or goods to others inside or outside their respective country of residence. The findings in this paper are based on more than 450,000 interviews conducted through Gallup’s World Poll in 157 countries in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The sample includes more than 26,000 first-generation migrants and more than 20,000 second-generation migrants. The large sample enables Gallup to analyze first-generation migrants by the duration of their stay in their adopted country and compare their remittance behaviors with second-generation migrants and the native-born.

Abstract     The Frankfurt School is characterized by its critical nature and it is the result of the Marxist socialist thought as it contributed to the development of the German thought in particular and the Western thought in general through important ideas put forward by a number of pioneers in the various generations of the school and most notably through the leading pioneer in the first generation, Marcuse, and the leading pioneer of the second  generation, Habermas, whose political ideas had an important impact on global thinking and later became the basis of the attic of many critical ideas. In spite of the belief of the school members in the idea of the criticism of power and community, each had his own ideas that distinguish him from the others.
