Nutritionally unbalanced organic waste can be converted into potential resources for animal and plant farming by culturing black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae (BSFL) and prepupae (BSFP). BSFL and BSFP are rich sources of protein and lipids, while the leftover excrement called “frass” can be used as an organic fertilizer. Using readily available resources, BSFL were cultured on spent coffee, donut dough or an equal blend for 35 days. Survival, productivity, daily pupation and biochemical composition of BSFL and BSFP were measured along with the nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium values of the frass. Survival was highest in the blend compared (81%) to spent coffee (45%) or dough (24%); however, BSFL and BSFP were significantly longer and heavier from dough. Stage and food significantly influenced the protein, lipid and glycogen content of the BSFL and BSFP, which tended to be higher in the latter. While fatty acids were often significantly higher in BSFL fed spent coffee, the amino acid composition of BSFL was generally higher in dough. Frass from the blend had significantly highest nitrogen content, while potassium and phosphorus were significantly higher and lower from spent coffee, respectively. Although coffee and donut dough were suboptimal substrates for BSFL, a blend of these produced BSFL and frass that were nutritionally comparable to soybean meal and many organic fertilizers, respectively.

Kata Kunci: efisiensi alokatif, faktor produksi usahatani, tanaman hias DracaenaAbstractThis study aims to identify the factors that can affect the amount of Dracaena ornamental plant production and analyze the level of allocative efficiency of the use of Dracaena ornamental plant farming production factors in Sukabumi Regency. This research was conducted in Sukabumi Regency as the largest Dracaena ornamental plant center in West Java Province in January to June 2018. The research was conducted by survey method by sampling using simple random sampling. The study was conducted on 35 Dracaena ornamental plant farmers in Sukabumi Regency with the aim of the export market. The data collected was analyzed using the analysis of factors that influence the amount of ornamental plant production Dracaena used an analysis of production functions and an analysis of the efficiency of the use of farm production factors. The results showed that the factors of production that had a significant effect on the amount of production of Dracaena ornamental plants in Sukabumi Regency were land area, seeds, and labor where the increase or decrease in the use of the three production factors would result in an increase or decrease in the amount of Dracaena production. Allocation of production factors for land area, seeds, pesticides, and labor in Dracaena ornamental plant farming in Sukabumi Regency has not been efficient so that their use needs to be added to achieve efficiency, while the use of fertilizer production factors in Dracaena ornamental plant farming is inefficient so their use needs to be reduced. Keywords: allocative efficiency, farming production factors, Dracaena ornamental plants

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of ornamental plant farming women in poor families in Tolombukan Village, Pasan District, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The research was conducted for three months, from December to February 2020. The data used are primary data obtained through interviews with 20 women who are farming ornamental plants. Secondary data were obtained from the Tolombukan Village Office. The data analysis used is descriptive, contribution formula and the data is presented in tabular form. The role of women as main breadwinners if it has greater than 50 percent. The results showed that the role of women as wives who cultivated ornamental plants in Tolombukan Village was as additional breadwinners and not the main breadwinners for their families.

Vertical Farming is making the necessary daily vegetables available in a minimal space with effective growth. Tomato plant farming is one of it. In tomato plant farming growth monitoring is a key issue which require man-work and experience. In this project work, an attempt has been made to Analyse and Design for a growth identification of tomato plants. This project work involves planning, analysis, designs, and many more to identify growth stages. Vertical Farming is making the necessary daily vegetables available in a minimal space with effective growth. Tomato plant farming is one of it. In tomato plant farming growth monitoring is a key issue which require man-work and experience. To make it effective we are intruding Neural Networks for growth identification for Tomato plant which not require man-work. Without the involvement of man work, we track the plant growth with Neural Networks. And also, we are doing plant stage detection it shows the entire information of that plant such as temperature, quantity of water needed, etc. With the help of an IOT device all the data are stored in a database. We use raspberry pie IOT device and image sensor to store all the data to the database created.

Agriculture is a significant sector of the Indonesian economy. Farmers strive for economically advantageous outcomes in the processing of farming, where the costs paid can result in maximum production. This increases demand for flowers, one of which is water henna. Farmers must enhance production to fulfill the demand for water henna flowers. The purpose of this study is to determine the viability of water henna flower growing in Dukuh Klopo Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency. The analytical method employed in this research is a combination of descriptive and quantitative analysis, which will be used to determine the income generated by water henna farming. According to the feasibility analysis results, the B/C – Ratio for water henna plant cultivation in Dukuh Klopo Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency is 1.57. This means that for every Rp. 1 spent, the henna plant farming industry in Dukuh Klopo Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency generates Rp. 1.57 rupiah in revenue. Thus, the B/C Ratio approach enables the development of water henna flower farming in Dukuh Klopo Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency.
