The production of high-quality seed is the basis for a durable a profitable agriculture. After production, seed is processed, conditioned, stored, shipped and germinated. For quality assurance, seed quality has to be controlled at all steps of the production chain. Seed functioning is accompanied by programmed transitions from cell proliferation to quiescence upon maturation and from quiescence to reinitiation of cellular metabolism upon imbibition. Despite the obvious importance of these control mechanisms, very little information is available at the molecular level concerning those elements that regulate seed germination. In the present study, the induction of cell cycle activity and the regulation of ß-tubulin expression is related to the water content and other physical properties of the seed.

Drop coating deposition Raman (DCDR) microspectroscopy was used to investigate interaction of the complexed cationic copper 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(1-methyl-4-pyridyl) porphyrin (CuP) and phosphorothioate analog of dT15oligonucleotide with liposomes, the lipid composition of which imitated the natural plasmatic membrane. Great advantage of dried drops on DCDR plates over a solution sample is that the specific drying process on the special hydrophobic surface efficiently separates liposomes from small species in the solvent. In our case, liposomes with bound CuP/oligonucleotide complexes formed a ring at the edge part of the dried drop while dried solution of this complex remained inside this ring. High quality spectra measured from the ring by using Raman confocal microspectrometer revealed unperturbed arrangement of lipid chains by the drying process, partial binding of the CuP/oligonucleotide complexes to liposomes, and a certain reorientation of lipid chains as a consequence of this interaction.

In the article on the basis of studying the most known research projects realized in the sphere of civil society, the conclusion is made about the need of receiving reliable data of the condition of civil society in Russia according to the optimum combination of quantitative and qualitative indicators. Authors came to the conclusion that there is a need of inclusion of the Russian researchers in the most significant projects. The authors came to the conclusion about the need of inclusion of the Russian researchers in the most significant international projects with the purpose of implementation of annual monitoring of the condition of civil society in Russia, and also carrying out high-quality regional researches in the sphere of civil society.
