An EPJ process simulation model was set up and verified to simulate the plasma gasification process of the medical wastes. The influence of ER value and SAMR value was simulated based on experimental conditions including material feeding rate, furnace temperature and medical waste properties. Results shows that ER=0.3 is a turning point for medical waste plasma gasification. The required input plasma power and volume flow of combustible constituents in syngas reach the maximum at ER=0.3. The balance of syngas composition and required input plasma power should be overall considered. Results shows that the SAMR value mainly influences the amount of H element and N element in the system at a fixed ER value, thus influencing the proportions of H2 and N2 in monotonous ways. Input plasma power needed and combustible syngas flow increase with the increasing SAMR.

Diamond crystals are successfully synthesized by irradiating DC arc plasma jet to the substrate set in a methanol solution. It is the important procedure to preheat the substrate by inert Ar plasma jet before introducing the methanol solution gas to the plasma jet gun. The effects of two experimental conditions, the incident power and the substrates, are investigated. In the case of the Si substrate, cubic crystalline diamond grains of same size are synthesized at the plasma power of 470W. High speed hetero epitaxy is expected by using this method. In the case of the tungsten carbide substrate, diamond crystals and carbon nanotubes are simultaneously synthesized at the plasma power of 260W. The catalytic effect of Co binder in the substrate may cause the chemical reaction of the nanotube synthesis.

This research was conducted for the purpose to overcome Indonesia waste problem. The samples are classified into garden waste, paper waste, wood, food waste, and MSW with objective to identify which type of waste give out more syngas since there is waste separation in Indonesia. All samples were treated by plasma gasification without pre-treatment (drying). Arc plasma torch used in this experiment was made by National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) and used Argon as the gas source. Then the torch was connected to self-designed gasification chamber and gas washing system before injected into a gas bas for composition analysis. Another objective is to identify factors that may affect the gasification efficiency and the experiment shows that moisture content is not really affecting the efficiency but the duration of the process. The mass reduction of each samples were recorded, then the gas produced from the gasification process were analyzed. The result shows that food has the highest mass percentage reduced and producing the highest amount of hydrogen amongst other samples. However, treating MSW also produce considerably high amount of hydrogen. In conclusion, MSW direct treatment (without separation) using plasma gasification is feasible since it still produces desirable quality of syngas.

The 2015 presidential election was a turning point in a history of celebritisation of politics in Poland. Rock vocalist Paweł Kukiz unexpectedly finished third with 20% of votes, the highest result of any celebrity–candidate in presidential elections. He achieved that, campaigning mostly on Facebook, without any significant power base and financial support. Kukiz set up his own political organisation, which gained a 9% backing in the parliamentary elections. He achieved that with no political platform, no media backing, and no party structure. We argue that his persona was a crucial asset in his political success. We will show how Kukiz created, managed and performed his persona, how he used it to mobilise three million voters and then to create and brand his “Kukiz’15 Movement.” Finally, we analyse limits, traps and contradictions of persona power. Analysed material includes Paweł Kukiz’s and his opponents’ Facebook posts, televised political advertisements, performances in celebrity TV shows and debates.

Biomass is one of the alternatives energy which are abundant, relatively cheap, and widespread availability. This paper is aim to show the process finding according experimental work of wood using suction biomass gasifier. Energy can be extracted from biomass through gasification process. The experiment focuses on woody gasification. A suction biomass gasifier has been built and operated under stable condition which fueled from wood waste and air as gasifying agent. The biomass feeding rate was varied from 3 to 5.5kg/hr. Result show that producer gas contains CO in 20-30% in volume and H2 found to be varying between 14 and16% vol. The low heating value (LHV) from this woody gasification around 4-5 MJ/Nm3. Carbon conversion efficiency also measured as a parameter to indicate biomass-gas conversion.

This protocol generates sponges (Halichondria panicea) with a disturbed microbiome under controlled experimental conditions, in order to study bacterial recolonization dynamics. Bacteria-bacteria interactions can be analysed with this set-up within the host environment aiming at a better understanding of sponge-microbe symbiosis in vivo. It is divided into the sections 1) preparation, 2) antibiotic treatment and recovery phase, 3) recolonization with the natural microbiome and 4) sampling.

A simple and rapid analytical UHPLC methodology with spectrophotometric (UV/Vis) detection, coupled with different extraction procedures, has been perfected to investigate the presence of biologically active O-prenylated umbelliferone derivatives, such as auraptene and umbelliprenin, in pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) seed extracts. Absolute ethanol was the most efficient extraction solvent in terms of yields, after a short ultrasound-assisted. The highest concentration values recorded under these experimental conditions were 1.99 μg/g of dry extract and 6.53 μg/g for auraptene and umbelliprenin, respectively. The parent metabolite umbelliferone was also detected (0.67 μg/g). The extraction and UHPLC analytical methodology set up in the present study proved to be an efficient, powerful, and versatile technique for the simultaneous qualitative analysis and quantification of oxyprenylated coumarins in pomegranate seed extracts. The characterization of such secondary metabolites in the mentioned phytopreparation represents, to the best of our knowledge, the first example in the literature.
