The article raises the problem of forming a new didactics on the methodological basis of synergetics. The new didactics should reflect the cognitive features of the perception of the modern generation, the features of socialization of modern youth. The authors reveal the difference between the new didactics and the old, classical didactics. The methodological and methodological basis of the new didactics is the gnoseological tools of modern post-non-classical science. The sociology course program is considered as a practice of implementing the new didactics, which is one of the central courses in the concept of social and humanitarian knowledge in higher education institutions. Our task is to look for the possibilities of this new didactics based on the conceptual directions of the post-non-classical paradigm. Synergetics as a methodology that actually functions in scientific and educational practice can be divided into two branches: formal synergetics and metaphorical.

Purpose There are several types of accommodation available to students of higher education institutions, and it is the responsibility of the institutions to focus on factors that can attract and retain students to their residences. This study aims to investigate satisfaction of higher institutions students with on-campus accommodation with an emphasis on the ethnicity of the students. Design/methodology/approach Using convenience sampling method, questionnaires were administered to students of selected residences in the study area. Mean item score was used to rank identified factors, whereas mean gap and Kruskal–Wallis K-test were adopted to examine the difference in opinion of students from various ethnic groups. Findings Overall, major features that make students dissatisfied with university-owned accommodations are enforcement of rule that compels all students to move out with their belongings during each recess, the effectiveness of the lift system, the size of wardrobe and closet, laundry service in the residence, numbers of electrical sockets and window quality. Considering dwelling unit features, neighbourhood, environmental, building quality and services provided by residence management, this study reveals that there is a significant difference in the satisfaction of students of diverse ethnic groups with their accommodation. Research limitations/implications The study was limited to on-campus residences owned by higher education institutions in South Africa. However, the findings of the study can be adopted for off-campus residences, and such owned by private individuals, agencies and other bodies provided are approved by the institutions. Originality/value The findings of this study will help management of higher education institutions to improve quality of services in their residences for the satisfaction of their students. Developers, contractors and other stakeholders involved in construction of these residences will also find the findings useful in designing and construction of the facilities.

The Article attempts to analyze service quality in higher education institutions of Malaysia. The study used the Gap Model presented by Parasuraman et al. (1985, 1988) to identify the difference between expected quality and perceived quality in higher education institutions of Malaysia. The study focused to identify gaps of Turkish students in Malaysian universities Five basic dimensions of service quality measured through SERVQUAL (Instrument for service quality measurement). These dimensions are tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. A stratified sample of 41 Turkish students has been selected from top five public universities in Malaysia. Results showed a negative service quality gap in higher education institutions of Malaysia from Turkish students’ perception which indicated perceived service quality is below than expectations of Turkish students in Malaysian universities.

The ongoing reforms of the Russias educational system call for improvements in the system of higher education. Thus there is a critical need to provide the theoretical and methodological basis for training Masters degree students, and particularly for the culture-general training. Meanwhile the Federal State Educational Standard of the 3rd generation does not describe in detail the concept of culture-general training of Masters students, providing only the set of general cultural competencies, which students are required to develop to graduate with the Masters degree. As higher education institutions are free to set up their own mechanisms of culture-general training, the author emphasizes, that she and her colleagues place a particular focus on culture-general training of Masters degree students attending the higher pedagogical institutions, because the graduates would not become valued society members, unless they have mastered and enhanced the whole range of culture-general competencies.

Goal: this paper goal is presenting sustainability experiences using Life Cycle Assessment perspective in two Latin America higher education institutions (HEI). What similarities do these HEI have in common regarding sustainability? What are the major challenges they face? In which way is Circular Economy effective on university campuses? Since universities face challenges posed by a changing and competitive environment, there ought to be sustainable management that is more appropriate to higher education institutions’ real environment, which is characterized by complexity, paradoxes, ambiguities, and conflicts. Methodology/Approach: Multiple Case Study. A resilience threshold of global ecosystem should be considered. Ecosystem dynamics require effort in mapping its functions. Results: the results considered that the difference between environmental approach failure and success lies in knowing how to realign their strategic plans. Limitations of the investigation: comparing private and public HEI and different levels of education (technical, undergraduate and graduate courses). Practical implication: the practical implication leads to an understanding that Circular Economy in HEI can be perceived as a guideline to innovation towards a more sustainable economy. Originality/value: the originality/value of this work is the ability of enabling scientists to empathize with both Brazıl and Colombia’s LCA perspectives in HEI.

AbstractThe aim of this article was to estimate the total efficiency of teaching activity carried out in Polish higher education institutions in 2015. The study used the EBM model belonging to the nonparametric DEA method. The output of the education process was measured by the number of graduates of the first-cycle and second-cycle studies and long-cycle studies, the number of doctoral degrees awarded, the number of postgraduate studies certificates issued, and the number of academic teachers and the total value of teaching activity revenue, the total value of state budget subsidies along with fees for educational services and fixed assets. Efficiency measurement was made for two variants: M1 and M2. The obtained research results indicate that on average, the difference between the indicators of the total efficiency of teaching activity under the two empirical models is 0.00. This is due to the fact that the share of budget subsidies and fees paid by students of part-time studies, in the revenues from teaching activity is at the level of 87%. There is also a positive but weak correlation between the total efficiency ratios and financial results obtained from teaching activities.

According to some personal variables, this study examines tennis coaches’ job satisfaction levels in higher education institutions. A total of 50 tennis coaches, 16 women (32%), and 34 men (68%) took part in the study. The coaches included in the study are examined in three categories as 26 years and younger (34%), 27-29 years old (34%), 30 years old and above (32%). Two forms were used as tools for data collection. The first one of these forms is a 6-question form created by the researcher to determine tennis coaches’ characteristics. The second one is the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale developed by Weiss et al. in 1967 and translated into Turkish by Baycan in 1985. Baycan also conducted the validity and reliability studies of the scale in 1985. The analysis of the data was done in SPSS 26.0 statistics package program. Percentage and frequency distributions were examined in the statistical analysis of the data, independent sample t-test was performed to evaluate the differences between two groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was made to determine the difference between more than two groups, and Scheffe test was performed to determine which groups the difference was between. p significance level was accepted as 0.05 (p < 0.05). As a result, there was no statistically significant difference in job satisfaction levels of tennis coaches according to gender, education level, coaching level, and work experience (p > 0.05), while there was a directly proportional relationship between the age variable and job satisfaction levels (p < 0.05).

Blended learning as “third generation” of distance learning has the potential to offer multimethod instruction through the blend, to leverage the strengths of current online and traditional instructions. Therefore, higher education institutions having recognized the fact that blended learning is beneficial, adopted this alternative approach as a new educational delivery method. The study determined the difference in perceived learning among three different blended learning environments in Malaysian higher education institutions. The data were collected from three public universities in Peninsular Malaysia and the respondents were undergraduate students from these universities. The result showed that the students' presence in classroom meetings contributes to their learning. The results also indicate that high levels of perceived learning were reported by undergraduate student in the blended learning environment face-to-face meeting rather than online sessions

An overview of domestic and foreign literature shows that the concept of quality of services at higher education institutions (HEIs) is the focus. Quality of service is one of the main factors of competitive advantage. Perceived quality of services in HEIs can be defined as the difference between what students expect to receive and their perceptions of what they really get. If HEIs get acquainted with students' expectations, they will have the opportunity to adjust their behavior to what is expected of them, and thus to positively influence on the students' perceived quality of services. Globalization has created a more competitive environment and opened market for HEIs. It affected on ensuring high quality in HEIs. The quality of HEIs is of key importance for a society because the students, employers, and society have the benefits of it, and quality education contributes to economic development of the country.
