Examination of distributed learning on recent and remote memory using in-person and online experimental paradigms

Learning is crucial in everyday life. However, how much information we retain depends on the type and schedule of training. It has been widely acknowledged that spaced learning holds a distinct advantage over massed learning for cognitively healthy adults and should be considered an educational standard, particularly when consolidating long-term memory. Given that many experiments have been required to be conducted online as a result of social distancing regulations during the Covid-19 pandemic, we examined whether the spacing advantage could be replicated in an online setup. Two experiments were conducted to examine the effects of spacing across recent (24 hours) and remote (one-month) retention intervals using the Face-Name Pairs task either in-person (Experiment 1) or online (Experiment 2). The results of Experiment 1 suggest that the beneficial memory effects of spaced training are particularly observed with remote memory. The results of Experiment 2 suggest that although participants learn and recall better in an online setup compared to in-person, the spacing effects were not as robust and did not confer any real advantage. These results are discussed in terms of advantages and disadvantages of the two procedures and the implications for online studies.

COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCES OF FUTURE INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MANAGERS AS A PEDAGOGICAL PHENOMENON

Statement of the problem. Reforming of the professional education system required by conscious choice of secondary school graduates wishing to start their independent life quickly and which guarantees successful start of their career, is connected with corresponding changes in substantive, technological and competence aspects. Blue-collar and white-collar qualifications become popular among young people. The labor market sets new requirements for graduates of secondary vocational schools and this defines the range of professional competences of future intermediate-level managers. The purpose of article is to define psychological and pedagogical bases of formation of communicative competence in future intermediate-level managers. Methodology of research consists of a competent and systematic approach as a basis for structuring of future intermediate-level managers professional competences; State Educational Standard of Secondary Vocational Training in 16.0631.01 Car Mechanics; Federal State Education Standard requirements to the curriculum for training qualified employees. Research results. Composition of competences (general and professional competences) of future intermediate-level managers is identified and substantiated. The main causes of the communication problems are stated: shortcomings in secondary vocational education; inconsistencies of terms in requirements for general competence in the Federal State Education Standard and Car Mechanic Professional Standard. Conclusion. Article defines psychological and pedagogical foundations for development of communicative competences in future car mechanics during learning mathematics. Teacher issues related with choosing a form of collaboration with students in math class are identified.

FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF A TOURISM MANAGER

The article presents the results of a study conducted on the basis of the INCD "Udmurt State University" in the "Tourism" course. The purpose of this research was to study key general and professional competencies presented in the Federal State Educational Standard SPO 43.02.10 in the "Tourism" course. The research is based on the Tuning methodology, which orients educational organizations to coordinate the results of education with three target groups: representatives of the academic community (teachers), the professional community (employers) and graduate students. Social partnership allows you to take into account the specifics of the regional labor market and the demands of employers, which is a regulatory requirement of the Federal State Educational Standard. The main research method is online survey. On the results of the online survey, the authors carry out the analysis of the severity of indicators of the importance of competencies for the professional activity of a graduate on a 4-point scale; competencies are ranked according to the degree of importance for each target group. In general, the graduate's competencies in the Federal State Educational Standard SPO 43.02.10 are highly appreciated by representatives of all target groups. Average assessment of the importance of general competencies - 3.33 points; professional competencies - 3.22 points. The opinions of representatives of the academic and professional communities are more consistent, their assessments of the composition of the GEF competencies are higher than those of students. The study also showed that certain competencies are either overestimated or underestimated by groups of respondents.

THE CONCEPT OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN THE 1ST GRADE OF A GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOL

The teaching of mathematics should reflect the global trends in the development of mathematical and pedagogical scientific thought. The authors develop guidelines for studying mathematics in the 1st grade based on the Federal State Educational Standard. Thus, the structure and the form of the textbook content are described by chapter. The theoretical part should allow students to complete screening questions, univariate and multivariate tests, problems, and exercises. Each chapter of the developed textbook is divided into paragraphs, and each paragraph is divided into items. One item of theoretical material contains either a new idea to study or a set of interrelated concepts that define a new idea. According to this, it is possible to form mathematical knowledge trajectories. It is possible to define main themes such as natural numbers counting, acquaintance with geometric shapes, comparison of objects in the value and quantity, acquaintance with a squared paper and measurement standards, the study of objects position, the sets consideration, introduction to the algorithm concept can. The authors’ conceptual directions of teaching mathematics in the 1st grade provide the foundation for mathematical education in general education schools for all the years of study.

Features of patriotic education of persons studying in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

The latest changes made by the state to the content of the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher and Secondary Education reflect the increased attention paid to the educational component of the unified educational and training process implemented by all educational organizations in the territory of the Russian Federation. Planning and implementation of educational impact on students has now become an independent element of the educational process. We believe that a purposeful process of educational activity is unthinkable without such a basic element as patriotic education. This study is devoted to the peculiarities of the processes of organization and practical implementation of patriotic education of persons studying at universities and educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
