During pandemic, people’s lives are affected dramatically—more than 20 million people have been affected, and most companies have been affected by such virus. However, people may always consider that some industries with inelastic demands such as touring industries and new energy vehicles industries will not be affected by such crisis. By analyzing the data from specific companies, I found the difficulties and opportunities for these industries. For example, touring industry related companies can use several strategies such as promotional strategy and corporate with high-tech companies to tackle with the catastrophe. Besides, electric car industry related companies may set up their technical barriers to boost their sales. From my research, there is no real-inelastic demands for any industries, and the only method for them to survive at any time is always researching new technology and meet customers’ demands.

The automotive industry is truly a global industry. Manufacturing plant of the company is set up in one corner of the earth, sourcing the automobile parts from many companies located all over the globes, and selling the final product in another country. This leads to complex supply chain. Production strategies like just-in-time (JIT) and just-in-sequence (JIS) creates testing times but presents opportunities for the logistics management. But currently, the industry is going through a rough phase. Manufacturing costs are increasing, rise in fuel prices is having its own affect on the industry, competitive landscape is changing, and globalization presents new political and economic challenges. Currently, the company needs to manage its supply chains efficiently, reduce cost and improve the accuracy of processes delivery. Today, the automobile industry is facing significant other challenges due to complex logistics. Logistics is about co-coordinating various activities like materials handling, storage, inventory management, freight transport and the related information flow and processing in a way that meets customer requirements at minimum cost. This paper will talk about the current challenges, opportunities, growth drivers and future strategies of the companies' logistics management. It will also cover how companies are adapting to the changing economic environment. The study is based on the qualitative analysis of secondary data. The challenges and opportunities for the companies exist from the current operations management and risks of globalization. Authors have looked at the challenges and opportunities in detail in this chapter. Improving the organization's performance and securing competitive advantage over others greatly depends on the supply chain management as it is seen that the competition is no longer between the organizations, rather they are amongst supply chains. From the research, it has been found that companies believe that for sustainable transportation and logistics, green supply chain is a must for long term sustainability of the company. Companies finds export compliance to the emerging markets as another major challenge. Transport and warehouse systems are, more or less, stabilized and companies are looking to get most out of them. Though there is connectivity between automobile companies and its suppliers but information is not available real time and hence it's difficult to collaborate. Visibility into logistics has come out as the biggest need for the companies.

Since 2013, lots of places in China have suffered serious fogs and hazes, therefore a number of measures have been taken to alleviate the problem, especially in some big cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, and Shijiazhuang. Some of the measures are targeted at automobile industry. This paper gave some suggestions about fog and haze prevention after analyzing the major causes of haze weather; meanwhile, it explained the positive influence on automobile industry. As far as automobile industry is concerned, it is necessary to issue related standards, laws and regulations as soon as possible. On the other hand, the development of new energy vehicles will help alleviate air pollution, and our purpose to avoid haze weather can be achieved.

Maruti Udyog Ltd. (MUL) was set up in 1980 by the government to produce automobiles. By collaborating with Suzuki Motor Company in 1982, it was hoped that the famed Japanese style of management would catalyze the small and backward car industry and some of the others to which it was linked. Maruti got off to an excellent start by public sector standards. However, by 1985, fiscal, balance of payments, and technology transfer problems began to surface. With current order books winding down by 1990, questions arise as to MUL's mission, its product-market strategies, its pricing policy, and the value of Japanese participation. Questions also arise regarding the coherence, long term stability, and developmental aims of government's policy towards the automobile industry.

“Carbon Neutrality” means that enterprises, groups, or individuals calculate the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced directly or indirectly within a certain period and offset their Carbon dioxide emissions through afforestation, energy conservation, and emission reduction to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions. Since 2020, the commitment to Carbon Neutrality has been paid attention to by various industries. Particularly, in the car industry, “Carbon Neutrality” has almost become one of the hottest directions. This paper focuses on policymaking and its impact on the automotive industry in the context of carbon neutrality. It is concluded that Carbon Neutrality is a problem that automobile enterprises must face. Automobile enterprises should set targets and time nodes related to Carbon Neutrality as soon as possible and speed up implementing specific measures. In addition, electric and new energy vehicles are more conducive to carbon emissions and carbon neutral transportation. Its development should also be put on the agenda.

New energy vehicles are being paid unprecedented attention by governments, manufacturers and consumers for their environmentally friendly features. However, the high attention has not turned into a large demand. Even with the support from the government, the sales of new energy vehicles remain far from acceptable. The disappointing performance of the new energy vehicles concerns the domestic automakers that desire to implement the new energy strategy. Starting from the consumers’ decision, this paper gives an economic analysis of the influencing factors of purchasing the new energy cars. Given the temporarily unchangeable infrastructure and environment, this paper provides some product portfolio under the current resource. Finally, referring to the influencing factors once more, we give the domestic automakers some suggestions to play up strengths and avoid weaknesses.
