Key performance indicators, KPI are a proven cutting-edge tool for process productivity and staff performance monitoring. Therefore, today it is possible to find the use of this tool in the most varied spheres and industries. However, the system implementation is a long and painstaking process, which requires financial, labor and time expenditures. But in case of its successful implementation, KPI technology will provide the balance of advantage for the company management and contribute to its growth. The article presents the selection mechanism of KPI system development and implementation methods. Using key performance indicators, the organization is able to manage the process and modify it, as well as define objectives for employees and motivate them to achieve their objectives. KPIs are based on measuring quantitative benefits. Control shall be based on comprehensive and reliable information about the company’s process productivity. This is the only way to take quick management decisions, make adjustments to the operation of processes that will contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives as a whole.

SQL Server Reporting Services is a way to analyze data, create reports using the indicators and gauges. Indicators are minimal gauges that convey the state of a single data value at a glance, and most are used to represent the state of Key Performance Indicators. Manage and harmonize the performance of an institution's educational institutions, especially universities with the performance of individuals or resources, no doubt is one of the essential elements for the success of an entity of the institution. Integrate the performance of an educational institution with individual performance is not an easy process, and therefore required a systematic approach to manage it. Implementation of a strategic management system based Balanced Scorecard can be used as a performance measurement system that will continuously monitor the successful implementation of the strategy of any public educational institution and measure the performance of its resources in a comprehensive and balanced, not the quantity but the emphasis is more concerned with the quality, so the performance of educational institutions at any time can be known clearly. Contribution of Key Performance Indicators to manage and harmonize the performance of any public institution is a solution in providing information to realize the extent of work that has set targets, identify and monitor measures of success, of course, with performance indicators show a clear, specific and measurable.

Performance measurement is crucial for achieving business success. Moreover, such success is also related to the fulfillment of the organizational strategic objectives. Hence, an adequate determination of relevant performance indicators—or key performance indicators (KPIs)—and their relationships to organizational objectives is needed. Even though several approaches for treating KPIs and objective-KPI relationships have been proposed, they exhibit some drawbacks associated with the lack of reusability and traceability. We attempt to fill this gap by proposing a set of patterns based on pre-conceptual schemas for supporting the systematic derivation of KPIs and their relationships to organizational objectives. In this way, the proposed patterns guarantee a reusable and traceable derivation process of a set of candidate KPIs from organizational strategic objectives. Lastly, we provide a lab study in order to illustrate the usefulness of this proposal.

Large construction firms execute management control in preparation for a fast-paced business environment, but small ones are unable to do so. This is because there is no management control model tailored to them. The current study derived Management Performance Evaluation Indicators (MAPEIs) for small construction firms for measuring the management performance of construction firms with 10 or fewer employees, considering the characteristics of small construction firms. MAPEIs consist of BSC (Balanced Scorecard), performance, and the hierarchy and weighted value of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). After an interview with an expert, based on the management performance indicators of large construction firms, a final hierarchy of small construction firms was constructed through modification and supplementation. The KPIs of the hierarchy were analyzed through a survey using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method to finalize MAPEIs for small construction firms in Korea. The final MAPEIs underwent a feasibility evaluation to apply them to real life. It is expected that they can be used as fundamental resources for system development for small construction firm management performance and control. In addition, further studies to resolve the limitations would improve the competitiveness of small construction firms.

Abstract Effective corporate governance is a key element in achieving long-term success for any company. The codes of conduct that corporate governance adopts directly determine the sustainability of business activities. With this in mind, this paper aims to demonstrate the results of research that identifies a set of key indicators of corporate governance performance. The presented research is quantitative. In order to identify key performance indicators, factor analysis was employed. It was found that corporate governance performance is influenced by two factors. For the first factor, the relationship between corporate governance and stakeholders is measured by key indicators: percentage of women within CG, contributions to political parties, politicians and related institutions and number of complaints received from stakeholders. The second factor, strategy & compliance, is generated from the following: percentage of strategic objectives met and total number of sanctions for breaching the law. This research aims to assist both academic and corporate practitioners who want to improve corporate governance performance and, through the use of key performance indicators, support the transparency and sustainability of their business.

Background and aim: This study reports the outcomes from an international study that implemented a set of person-centred nursing key performance indicators across a range of services provided to sick children. It aims to explore the factors that influenced the successful implementation of those indicators, and assess the impact of the evidence generated on person-centred practice across the children’s services. Methods: Twelve organisations across Australia and Europe participated, with data collected in 2015 and 2016 and analysed using thematic analysis. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted with staff, including executive sponsors, managers, facilitators and clinical nursing teams. The COREQ guidelines were considered in the conduct and reporting of this study. Results: The results describe the impact of implementing the key performance indicators from the perspective of nurses operating at different levels within organisations. The following six themes became apparent: credibility of the key performance indicators; uncovering the whole picture; embracing nursing; engaging in the process; connecting with others; and achieving healthful outcomes. Conclusion: The findings from this study confirm an emerging relationship between the nature of evidence generated by the person-centred nursing key performance indicators and its use in practice. Also highlighted was the importance of facilitation in the process of data collection and in understanding the data and the context in which it is used. Implications for practice: This study will be of interest to clinical nurses, educators, managers and facilitators of cultural change. The data generated through the implementation of the person-centred nursing key performance indicators evidences the global contribution of nursing across services provided to children and their families Engaging staff at all levels in an organisation enhances implementation of evidence that is meaningful for nursing practice The triangulated evidence generated by the key performance indicators and accompanying measurement tools offers feedback that can drive improvements in nursing practice

Background: Good-quality data is required for valid and reliable key performance indicators. Little is known of the facilitators and barriers of capturing the required data for emergency department key performance indicators. This study aimed to explore and understand how current emergency department data collection systems relevant to emergency department key performance indicators are integrated into routine service delivery, and to identify the resources required to capture these data elements. Methods: Following pilot testing, we conducted two focus groups with a multi-disciplinary panel of 14 emergency department stakeholders drawn from urban and rural emergency departments, respectively. Focus groups were analyzed using Attride–Stirling’s framework for thematic network analysis. Results: The global theme “Understanding facilitators and barriers for emergency department data collection systems” emerged from three organizing themes: “understanding current emergency department data collection systems”; “achieving the ideal emergency department data capture system for the implementation of emergency department key performance indicators”; and “emergency department data capture systems for performance monitoring purposes within the wider context”. Conclusion: The pathways to improving emergency department data capture systems for emergency department key performance indicators include upgrading emergency department information systems and investment in hardware technology and data managers. Educating stakeholders outside the emergency department regarding the importance of emergency department key performance indicators as hospital-wide performance indicators underpins the successful implementation of valid and reliable emergency department key performance indicators.
