This paper analyzes and compares the four mainstream cloud desktop technologies: RDS, VDI, IDV and VOI. According to the practical application in colleges and universities, a hybrid cloud desktop technology scheme is designed and proposed, and the specific implementation method of the integration of VDI and VOI is studied. In view of the particularity and requirements of experimental courses and application scenarios, an application model based on this technical scheme is designed, which is suitable for all the common scenes of computer experimental teaching, realizes the deep integration of cloud desktop and teaching activities, and also provides reference for the construction and application of cloud desktop technology in colleges and universities.

This chapter discusses the emergence of a social ethos of practicality in higher education by the end of the nineteenth century. Throughout the antebellum era, the expansion of scientific and technical knowledge joined with the rise of political populism to lead existing institutions to add practical studies to their curricula. Many advocates of practical studies, however, were not satisfied with simply incorporating courses or appending schools to already-established colleges and universities. They sought to break with tradition by establishing a new kind of higher-education institution, one that would teach students scientific and investigative principles while also requiring the application of those principles outside of the classroom, both on the farm and in the field. This new institutional type would contribute to the common good by being unprecedentedly accessible and affordable to agrarian and laboring youth. The chapter then looks at the establishment of the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan.

In 1946 Herbert Hoover [10, pp. 436-437] said, “It is dinned into us that this is the century of the common man…. But if we arc to have leadership in government, in science, in education, in the professions and in the home, we must find and train some uncommon men and women.” The able and the gifted— once the primary concern of our schools, colleges, and universities—are now largely a forgotten group as a result of the growth of mass education. There are encouraging signs of improvement, however. Last year the Educational Policies Commission issued a report [6] entitled Education of the Gifted which considers the gifted student and his importance to society, and which recommends ways and means of identifying and educating the gifted. The present paper may be considered an effort to examine and interpret, in the special field of mathematics, the general conclusions and recommendations of this report. The paper begins with a background of facts; recommendations follow.

The paper firstly introduces the developing process of flipped classroom home and abroad, and then illustrates the connotations, models and practical strategies of micro-courses and flipped classroom. The highlight of the paper is in the third part which details how the study of self-regulated micro-course learning and implicitly layered flipped classroom designed and developed. To divide the students into five implicit layers and to upload five-levelled micro-courses and preview learning materials are two preparatory steps. In-class teaching tasks mainly cover providing the critical review of learning material and settling the common questions raised by QQ group members; asking the main points of the text to check preview effects; selecting different-layered students to play different roles in the scenario; consolidating new knowledge with exercises and giving assignments in the form of discussion, translation or writing. After teaching practice and feedback analysis, we can get the result that ILFC (implicitly layered flipped classroom) enables 80 percent of the students to take active part in teaching activities, especially in text analysis and theme discussion. Moreover, it promotes multi-dimension interaction and increases deep-levelled cooperation and understanding. English learning interests and learning atmosphere are simultaneously inspired and improved.

The aim of the maintenance allocation is to allocate the maintenance time of the subsystems reasonably and accurately. Traditional MTTR (mean time to repair) allocation methods are most often based on the products’ complexity. However, there are a lot of deficiencies in practical application. To allocate the system MTTR of the subsystems more precise and reasonable, a better model is needed. The aim of this paper is to develop an improved model to allocate the maintenance time, as well as picke out the common maintenance time and allocating e the MTTR in the subsystems more accurately.
