The purpose of present study is to examine the role of learning strategies as moderator between meta-cognitive awareness and study habits among university students. Sample comprises of 200 students (100 male students and 100 female students) of various universities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi with age ranging from 18-25 years. In order to assess study variables questionnaires were used included Meta-Cognitive Awareness Inventory (Schraw & Dennison, 1994) measuring two-components of meta-cognition that are knowledge and regulation of cognition. Study habits demonstrated by the students were measured by the Study Habits Inventory (Wrenn, 1941). Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (Pintrich, Smith, Garcia, & McKeachie, 1991) which includes motivation and learning strategies scales. In the present study, only the learning strategies section was utilized, which measures the cognitive strategies and resource management strategies. Results revealed positive correlation between research instruments and are also having good reliability. Regression analysis reflected that meta-cognitive awareness predicts study habits among university students. Regression analysis also suggested that learning strategies including resource management strategies and cognitive strategies significantly moderates the relationship between meta-cognitive awareness and study habits. It is also explored gender differences on learning strategies, meta-cognitive awareness and study habits. Future implications of the study were also discussed.

The research aims to identify the role of organizational learning strategies and their reflection in the development of the design of the organization in the presidency of the University of Kirkuk, and to achieve this goal, the researcher through research and related studies to build hypotheses explaining the relationship between the variables studied. The study relied on the study of organizational learning strategies as an independent variable Four important dimensions are (learning strategy to emphasize efficiency, learning strategy to emphasize innovation, learning strategy to emphasize trends, learning strategy to emphasize professionalism), and four dimensions representing the adopted variable The survey sample consisted of (55) director (department, division, unit) and distributed a questionnaire covering (39) paragraphs. In light of this, data were collected and analyzed and hypotheses were tested using the statistical package (SPSS). A number of statistical methods were used, including arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Spearman correlation coefficient, simple linear regression coefficient The results of the research sample showed that the university leadership is interested in the study of organizational learning strategies because it leads to improving the design of the organization as a whole through the knowledge, experiences and abilities of the organization. Competitive advantage of the organization In addition, there is a strong correlation between organizational learning and its strategies with the nature of the work of the Presidency of the University as a whole, showing the role played by organizational learning strategies. This study aimed to identify the degree to which Islamic Education Teachers possess the principles and strategies of active learning In Government Schools of the Education Directorate in the Zarqa governorate (1). The descriptive approach was used and to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection; it consisted of (27) paragraphs, which applied on a sample of (72) male teachers and (88) female teachers. The result showed that the level of Degree to which Islamic Education Teachers possess the principles and Strategies of active learning was High with (3.92) score The findings also showed there were no statistically significant differences between the level of Islamic Education teachers sex (male and female) in addition there were statistically significant differences between teachers of (5 years and less) of experience and these with (5-10) years of experience in favor of the second group and statistically significant differences between teachers of (5-10) years of experience and these with (10 and more) years of experience in favor of the second group. In light of these findings, the researcher suggested a set recommendation including the necessity of holding training courses for teachers and students to explain the role of each other in light of active learning.

Learning English language for the majority of Saudi students has always been considered difficult and rarely successfully achieved. “English poses difficulties for many Saudi students due to the low English levels acquired at secondary schools” (Al-Shami, 2004). Additionally, the overall achievement in English language among the majority of Saudi students, after completing six years of studying EFL extensively, is remarkably low (AL-Karood, 2006; Al Buna’yan, 2003; Al Guaid, 1997; Abuammah, 2002). This research paper will investigate, discuss and analyse the NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) concepts; change and modelling, as well as NLP four principles; outcomes, rapport, sensory acuity and flexibility, in order to specify the actual extent to which these concepts and principles can assist the Saudi EFL students to achieve better, easier and faster performance in learning the English language. By the end of this paper, the researcher intends to highlight the relationship between the NLP principles and the SLA learning strategies (O’Malley, 1990), as well as to attempt to describe some possible ways for applying the NLP principles into SLA.


Learning in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) necessitates learners to be capable of self-regulating their learning in order to oversee and adapt their behaviour and actions in certain learning settings. Studies have highlighted that learners who have good control of self-regulation in their learning, either formal or informal learning contexts, utilise more competent learning strategies in online learning context. Nevertheless, MOOCs attract a diverse range of learners, each with different experience and satisfaction. The aim of this study is to examine the role of self-regulated learning (SRL) and its components (time management, planning, self-evaluation, and help-seeking) on learners’ satisfaction in MOOC. Data were collected from 281 learners of a Malaysia MOOC namely Asas Keusahawanan (Introduction to Entrepreneurship), in the second semester of the Malaysian universities academic calendar. A cross-sectional web-based survey was applied and a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach was use for analysing data. Findings indicated that all of SRL components except help-seeking are important factors for explaining learners’ satisfaction in a MOOC. This study provides useful suggestions for the course designers of MOOCs platforms, and the facilitators in engaging learners with suitable SRL strategies and increase the level of course satisfaction.

This writing deals with developing moral values by the ‘project citizen’ through several stages of its learning. Hopefully this article could act its role in enlightening and motivating for the teachers to be able to use this model later. Starting from the idea of character building by John Dewey (1859-1952) through the flow of Progressivism. He explains that "schools should make students as citizens to be more democratic, free thinking and intelligent". It can be interpreted that the role of the school as an institution must provide learning that can develop a wide range of student competence. The most appropriate learning strategies to achieve what is thought of this school is by using learning model of ‘project citizen’. This model is basically based on the strategy of inquiry learning, discovery learning, problem solving, and research-oriented learning. From the experiments which conducted, using the model is able to achieve competency in the subject of Civic Education. The model of project citizen learning has become the best model, which is able to develop the character of students through the process of participative learning. Therefore, educating character as a pillar of our national education goals, could be developed through the learning model of project citizen.

This study investigates empirically the role of supplemental instruction (SI) as a means of enhancing student performance in the first accounting course. SI is a proactive educational intervention program that targets traditionally “high-risk” courses and employs collaborative learning techniques emphasizing learning strategies and critical-thinking skills. This emphasis on “learning to learn” has been advocated by the Accounting Education Change Commission (AECC) as a goal of the first accounting course. ANCOVA-based results from 1,359 students in nine sessions of Principles of Accounting indicate that SI was effective at increasing academic performance; after controlling for self-selection bias, participation in both voluntary and mandatory SI sessions was found to be positively associated with the total points earned in the course. Additionally, a step pattern is observed in the increased performance for both the voluntary and mandatory attendance phases of the study, indicating that the level of SI attendance may play a role in the benefits obtained. The implications of this analysis for the accounting curriculum are addressed.
