This research studies the case of KT to see how a mobile operator expanded beyond its existing offerings to new smart energy business based on digital technology. Details were analysed specifically on how the business was developed, why the smart energy service was started, and what the success factors were. KT's smart energy business (KT-MEG: KT Micro Energy Grid) utilizes ICT to resolve energy issues such as global climate change and energy consumption growth. It also provides growth opportunities for KT with its KT-MEG platform. The authors analyze that KT was able to leverage sustainability as a new growth engine by developing new businesses to differentiate customer experience, create effective organization structure, and generate business impact in addition to application of latest ICT technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT (internet of things), and big data. The results provide a good guideline for business transformation of ICT firms in the era of Industry 4.0.

Introduction. The market for energy services has virtually taken shape. However, today, due to the difficult economic situation, it, like other directions of the national economy, is experiencing an unfavourable period. The issue of studying and implementing international experience in Ukrainian realities is an urgent one, which will make it possible to unlock the potential of energy service development in Ukraine. Methods. The study used materials of professional publications, normative and legal acts on the formation of energy services market. The systematic approach, analytical method, methods of comparative analysis and modelling were used to solve the tasks. Results. The statistics of energy service development in countries such as China, France, England and Germany were analysed in the paper. The international and national publications were also analyzed. The specifics of the development of energy-saving activities in the countries of the European Union (EU) were presented, as well as an overview of the main legislative provisions both at EU level and by country. Along with best practices, previous stages of market formation in Ukraine are analysed, obstacles to the development of energy services were identified. Discussion. Having studied and analysed the activities of energy service companies, the following research perspectives can be identified based on international experience in defining a development strategy: cooperation with international associations (VFW, ESCO Forum, VDMA; development under the directives: The Energy Services Directive, ESD 2006/32 / EC, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, EPBD, 2010/31 / EU). The purpose of this study is to: (1) review and analyze the strategies that have been implemented by 10 young entrepreneur’s Program of IbK of STIEAD Jakarta in developing their businesses over the years; (2) identify and analyze the strategies that will be run by them for the next day; (3) analyze and formulate proposals for business development strategy is relevant to young entrepreneurs run by them. The results shows, the strategy which conducted by them is actually still conventional and little is applying modern business patterns. However, they have a plan/strategy development effort that started steady state. Targets that have been set should be reassessed and to be rationalized, if the strategy is capable of being implemented. The recommendations concerned are for all tenants should have self determination for entrepreneurship, able to instill confidence, and always looking for a way out in case of a deadlock

The article develops methodological approach to the analysis of groups of interests’ influence on the choice of Russia’s development strategy. It is possible to pass on to the analysis of specific issues of economic policy by forming several sub-groups in every "analytical" group. The article also considers the structure of Russian economy which was formed as a result of transformational crisis’ influence on Soviet economy, and relevant international comparisons. Main alternative ways of transition to innovational development are the renewal of Soviet "triangle economy" (the scenario "Mobilization") and complex institutional changes (the scenario "Modernization").

The article presents the key results of scenario projections that underpinned the Strategy for long-term low carbon economic development of the Russian Federation to 2050, including analysis of potential Russia’s GHG emission mitigation commitments to 2050 and assessment of relevant costs, benefits, and implications for Russia’s GDP. Low carbon transformation of the Russian economy is presented as a potential driver for economic growth that offers trillions-of-dollars-worth market niches for low carbon products by mid-21st century. Transition to low carbon economic growth is irreversible. Lagging behind in this technological race entails a security risk and technological backwardness hazards.

The main principles and directions are analyzed: investment, foreign trade, technological policies, certain aspects of territorial planning, state corporate and social policies. Proposals on the prospective goal-setting and possible results of industrial policy have been formulated.
