Abstract Almost 60% of Jambi Province’s potato production comes from Kerinci District. As well as other food crop products, productivity must be balanced with the quality of the produced. Postharvest handling based of Good Handling Practices concept is the key to producing high quality and competitive potatoes and optimizing the results obtained. The data obtained showed that there was a decrease in potato seed yield around 16% during the storage. The loss was contributed by rotten and moisure migration tubers. Very few studies have been conducted to evaluate the appropriateness of postharvest handling of potatoes according to GHP concept in Kerinci District. Therefore, purpose of the study was to determine the level of suitability of postharvest handling of potatoes in Kerinci District. The research method is descriptive exploratory by making hostages systematically, factually and accurately. The data were obtained through observation, interviews and calculating the percentage of postharvest handling suitability based of the GHP concept. The results showed that the level of suitability for postharvest handling of potatoes in Kerinci District was around 69% with the average improvement that had to be done at the cleaning, storehouse handling, sanitation and packing type stages around 31% and digging tube loss reaching 100%. In principle, carrying out potato postharvest activities based of the GHP recommendations is an effort to minimize yield losses. The results of this study are expected to be a solution for improving the quality and competitiveness of potato commodities in Kerinci District, Jambi Province.

Potato is an important food crop in both developed and developing countries and it is the fourth most important food crop after wheat, maize, and rice. Potato production in Indonesia has decreased in recent years, mainly due to the use of low quality tuber seed. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of plant materials, types of nutrients, and planting density on mini tuber formation, as well as to determine the best aeroponics conditions for mini tuber formation of Granola cultivar of potato. This research has been carried out experimentally using a Split-split Plot Design. The main plot was planting materials which consisted of plantlet and knol. The subplot was the type of nutrition media which consisted of Farran nutrition, Otazu nutrition, and AB-commercial mix. The sub-sub-plot was planting density which consisted of 50, 75, and 100 plants/m2. The research results showed that knol planted in aeroponics system on AB-commercial mix at a planting density of 75 plants/m2 resulted in the best mini-tuber production. In this study, for the first time three important factors for potato mini-tuber production have thoroughly been investigated in Indonesia. This finding will be used by Kledung Horticultural Seed Garden, Temanggung, for mass production of high-quality mini-tuber seed, which in turn will provide sufficient tuber seed for the farmer in its surrounding areas. By increasing the production of high-quality tuber seed, it is expected that it will contribute to the improvement of potato productivity and increase Indonesian potato production.

The development of more efficient and productive systems for pre-basic seed potato production would improve the quality of the propagative material used by the potato growers, directly affecting the crop yields. A two-year experiment was carried out to evaluate the potato pre-basic seed production by two types of hydroponic systems (fibrocement tiles and articulated PVC gutters), two cultivars (`Baronesa` and `Eliza`) and two types of propagative material (plants coming from in vitro culture and minitubers). The PVC gutters system was highly efficient. When using minitubers, this system reached multiplication rates up to 74 tubers per plant. Minitubers were more productive than in vitro plants, independent of cultivar and hydroponic system utilized.

Abstract The high-quality potato seed availability in Indonesia always to be attempted continuously by Indonesian governments to encourage national potato production optimization. One of the efforts is through aeroponic potato seed production. The G0 (zero generation seed) aeroponic potato produces a better yield and healthier tuber compare to G0 conventional potato production. IVegRI has undertaken studies related to G0 potato aeroponic. The results have been disseminated and some of them have been adopted by the potato producers in various regions in Indonesia. The study aimed to investigate the potato aeroponic seed production in Indonesia based on the producers’ perception of the benefits and challenges. The study was conducted from April to December 2017, in 8 districts from 6 provinces, engaging 18 G0 aeroponic potato producers. Data were analyzed descriptively. The resulting study showed that G0 aeroponic producers perceived the production of G0 aeroponic potato as more profitable compared to G0 conventional. The advantages covered: the production was higher, the yield tuber was healthier and sterile, and also it could be produced anytime. Meanwhile, challenges faced were: initially investment cost was quite expensive, electricity installation frequently was unstable and, the challenge concocted a suitable potato aeroponic nutrition.

Throughout the world, potatoes, as a food crop, are very important. One of the main reasons for the poor quality of planting material, yield and potatoes themselves are viral infections. The use of virus-free seed material is one of the high-potential ways to increase the yield and efficiency of potato production. Aeroponics is a promising direction in obtaining a virus-protected crop. This study aimed to assess the potential and improve the technology for growing healthy mini-tubers of potatoes using the aeroponic method, which is a safe and economical method. Compared to the usual method of growing crops, aeroponics assumes lower water and energy costs per unit of production, as well as excludes soil diseases of the plant and does not allow damage to the tuber caused by pests. For growing different varieties of crops in different regions, artificial conditions such as additional lighting in greenhouses can be easily provided. In this study, economic calculations have shown that, from a practical point of view, Aeroponics technology may be appropriate for large-scale production of seed potatoes.

The problems and obstacles faced by Abon Bandeng business group "Barokah" and Kecap "Kurma" are: 1. The making process is still using traditional tools and in very little capacity, so that the products are produced less than the maximum and in small capacity. So when there is a rather large order they can not afford to fill the order in due to lack of equipment that is not adequate for more production capacity. 2. Marketing management that still rely on orders and exhibitions of food products, this results in less sustainable production, rather than resulting in profits that can not be maximal / uncertain. Therefore, based on the need for solutive and strategic steps to overcome the problem of business groups to be more productive and highly competitive, these steps antaralain: 1. The need to modernize the equipment so as to produce products that berkuwalitas and competitive can do more production. 2. The need to improve the quality of group resources in terms of marketing of production, this quality improvement can be done by doing marketing training / marketing of production. So that the already sustainable production can be marketed optimally. The success of global governance depends on the coherency of efforts of its actors, notably states. States are expected to meet their international obligation, including through their domestic policies. As a member of the international community, Indonesia has become a party to numerous treaties and participated in various effort to address global challenges. Yet reference to international law by Indonesia’s domestic court has so far been justified only for the sake of improving the quality of judgment or maintaining Indonesia’s standing as a law-abiding state. Further, most Indonesia’s legal scholars focus their attention on the position of international law in the domestic legal hierarchy, and how monism and dualism approaches influence the implementation of international law at the national level. This article focuses on how domestic court judgments have impacts outside national borders. It employs a normative research method, and uses the Central Kalimantan Forest Fire case as the stepping-stone of discussion. It concludes that the application of international law by Indonesia’s domestic court supports the intention of delivering a high quality judgment and strengthening the global governance.

The availability of Indonesian potato seed and production of potato for consumption depends on the availability and quality of Generation 0 (G0) potato seed. This study aims to observe G0 potato seed production management in Indonesia. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and survey. Thirty-seven G0 potato seed producers participated in the survey. Data were analyzed descriptively, while the feasibility of the farm budget of G0 potato production was calculated using the enterprise budget method. The results showed that the producers had challenges on capital to broaden the screen house to extend the production scale and limited plantlet availability. Meanwhile, they did not have any problems with other production aspects, such as controlling pests and diseases and the marketing of the G0 seed. Government supports to provide screen houses to fulfil producers' necessity and delegate the legality of potato plantlets are needed to create a better Indonesia's potato seed system.

The technological process of growing potato seed material begins with the acquisition of the source material and its accelerated reproduction to the required volumes. To include new perspective varieties and hybrids in seed programs, they must be released from a viral infection. Exemption from viruses is a responsible, time-consuming and costly process that requires professionalism, but in the absence of this stage, promising varieties cannot participate in the implementation of seed programs. Only in vitro, a material thoroughly assessed with regard to the presence of pathogens, the varietal typicality and severity of the main variety distinctive features can ensure the high quality of seed potatoes in basic seed production.

Indonesia is a developing country that is doing a lot of development in all areas such as: the construction of buildings, bridges, dams, canals, and others. Various studies and experiments in the concrete field are carried out as an effort to improve the quality of concrete, material technology and implementation techniques obtained from the results of research and experiments intended to answer the increasingly high demands on the use of concrete and overcome the obstacles that often occur in the implementation work at outdoor. The use of added materials (Admixture) can help solve these problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the influence of additives on the compressive strength of k-225 concrete using basalt scoria stone. The making of k-225 concrete used cuboid sized molds (15cm x 15cm x 15c) in research into the manufacture of concrete to produce high quality concrete. The research method used was an experimental method conducted at the laboratory of PT. Gig Polah Raya Jl. Lintas Sumatera KM 22 Sukabandung South Lampung, namely by carrying out or physically experimenting on concrete tests, which used additives, as many as 24 test objects, namely 6 without additives and 6 additives 0.45%, and 0.55% and 0.63% and normal compressive strength k-225. The aim is to know the average compressive strength between normal concrete and concrete using a mixture of additives as a reference.
