Purpose In recent years, cities have been facing economic, social and environmental crises that need to be prevented and dealt with. The new subject that has been brought up to improve city resistance to crises is urban resilience. The purpose of this study is to compare the resilience of Tehran and Mashhad to identify the strengths and weaknesses of these two cities for better planning in critical situations. Design/methodology/approach The research methodology is a comparative survey. The importance of the subject was manifested through a literature review. A questionnaire is designed using “the Rockefeller Foundation and ARUP’s model” and the Delphi method for testing 21 research hypotheses to evaluate resilience in the two cities (12 Delphi questionnaires and 232 urban resilience questionnaires). The data is analyzed using independent samples t-test by SPSS software. Findings The results show that both the cities are weak in terms of resilience indicators and sub-indicators, but Mashhad is more resilient than Tehran. Originality/value This paper compares urban resilience in Iran for the first time through a comparative study between two metropolises in the country. The Delphi method also is used for the first time (in Iranian case studies) to obtain the dimensions of urban resilience. By comparing the two cities, we can better understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Shoulder overuse syndrome (SOS) is a fatigue-related condition caused by repetitive motion or excessive practice, common amongst wheelchair users. Diagnostic treatment methods for SOS include physiotherapy sessions, kinesiology tapes and few other measures. Many commercial devices available in the market targeting rehabilitation and recovery of shoulder pathologies are expensive and inaccessible for in-home treatment. A detailed survey of the rehabilitative devices for upper limbs is given in [1]. Although, prognostic measures to avoid SOS in wheelchair users such as taking smoother strides and altering wheel stroke mechanics have been suggested [2], [3], there is a clear lack of assistive devices that augment the shoulder joint muscles during wheelchair propulsion.

Though music listening while driving is a popular activity, it is not clear the effects of music mood induction on driving performance in different road conditions. In this study, four music samples with strongest mood features were selected by simplified Delphi method. Then driving performance in two road conditions induced by five music moods were investigated by comparative experiments. Results of ANOVA preliminarily demonstrated the significant differences between driving performance induced by various music mood in different road conditions. Furthermore, a mobile music player was developed and installed in two intelligence assist vehicles to validate its usability in the practice.

Physical education and sport participation of 133 children and youth with myelomeningocele (MM), aged 7 to 16 years, was investigated with respect to age, level of MM, and ambulation. Results showed that 90.2% of subjects received physical education. Elementary-aged subjects were least likely to be excluded from physical education, as were full-time manual wheelchair users. Regular physical education placements were afforded to 51.7% of subjects, although individuals may have been placed according to their MM label rather than their ambulation ability. Sport participation was reported by 82.6% of subjects. Subjects with cervical MM, and those not receiving physical education, were least likely to have participated. Interestingly, children who walked without assistive devices were least likely to participate in nonschool sports. However, 9.2% of subjects, including almost 20% of the subjects with sacral MM, felt they could benefit from use of a wheelchair in the future, or from use of a wheelchair for sport.

Third Fleet is the Main Command of the Indonesian Navy as Operation City which is tasked with carrying out defense and security operations of the maritime dimension by securing the territorial waters of eastern Indonesia. The operation in these waters is faced with the vulnerability of frequent violations, geological conditions consisting of thousands of islands and shallow straits, extreme weather and also with limited state defense budget conditions. Therefore, it is very necessary to have a KRI that is right and ready to face these challenges and obstacles so that the goals of the organization can be achieved. The purpose of this study was to analyze the criteria and determine the type of KRI needed in accordance with the conditions in Third Fleet. This study uses an integration between the Delphi method and the AHP method. The results of this study are expected to be input and consideration for the leadership of the Indonesian Navy. The next 299 are fast boats with a weight value of 0.149 then Amfibious ships with a weight value of 0.154 then Bantu ships with a weight value of 0.131 then Mine ships with a weight value of 0.119 and Submarines with a value of 0.114. The results of this study are expected to be input and consideration for the leadership of the Indonesian Navy.   Keywords: Third Fleet, Delphi, AHP
