Abstract With the depth increasing and the improvement of mining mechanization of the coal mine, heat hazard is becoming more and more serious, the ice cooling system is gradually promoted and applied in China for recent years, but the cooling capacity and energy efficiency ratio (EER) test and analysis for such system is seldom reported. The cooling capacity and EER of the refrigerating equipment of an ice cooling system of a coal mine are tested and analyzed in Shandong Province in this paper. The test result indicates that the refrigerating capacity and EER are lower and both the pre-cooling units and the ice making system have a large variable range. It points out that it should not evaluate the ice cooling system by the test data only in this mine but expect more test data and analysis of the ice cooling system in other coal mines to get a more scientific conclusion. And the test, analysis and comparison for different kinds of cooling system are also expected to explore suitable cooling system while a full consideration of the geological conditions and other factors of the mine are taken into consideration.

The effect has been studied of the inertia of the cooling system on the reliability of control of the temperature of the reaction mixture. The study has been made using a mathematical model of the batch reactor with an exothermic reaction. The temperature has been controlled by a two-level controller opening and closing the flow of the coolant. The aim of the control has been to maintain a constant value of the degree of utilization of the cooling capacity of the reactor. The instantaneous value of the degree of utilization has been assessed from the ratio of times for which the cooling system is idle to the time of operation. The reliability of control has been studied for variable activity of the catalyst.

Based on the geological conditions of 6# coal seam and 8# coal seam in Xieqiao Coal Mine, to determine reasonable entry layout of lower seam in multi-seam mining, alternate internal entry layout, alternate exterior entry layout and overlapping entry layout were put forward and simulated by FLAC3D. Then stress distribution and displacement characteristics of surrounding rock were analyzed in the three ways of entry layout, leading to the conclusion that alternate internal entry layout is a better choice for multi-seam mining, for which makes the entry located in stress reduce zone and reduces the influence of abutment pressure of upper coal seam mining to a certain extent,. And the mining practice of Xieqiao Coal Mine tested the results, which will offer a beneficial reference for entry layout with similar geological conditions in multi-seam mining.

Vehicle handling and stability has effect on positive safety of automotive directly. Test system of handling and stability is built for its road test and the test variables signal can be acquired and stored synchronously. Based on MATLAB GUI, software is developed for the test data processing, so that the stored data is to be analyzed and handling and stability test result is given by the software automatically. Using the test system in paper, handling and stability road test of one domestic sedan is fulfilled and scored, which verifies the applicability of the test system and scoring software in paper.

A rechargeable personal air-conditioning (RPAC) device was developed to provide an improved thermal comfort level for individuals in inadequately cooled environments. This device is a battery powered air-conditioning system with the phase change material (PCM) for heat storage. The condenser heat is stored in the PCM during the cooling operation and is discharged while the battery is charged by using the vapor compression cycle as a thermosiphon loop. The conditioned air is discharged towards a single person through adjustable nozzle. The main focus of the current research was on the development of the cooling system. A 100 W cooling capacity prototype was designed, built, and tested. The cooling capacity of the vapor compression cycle measured was 165.6 W. The PCM was recharged in nearly 8 hours under thermosiphon mode. When this device is used in the controlled built environment, the thermostat setting can be increased so that building air conditioning energy can be saved by about 5–10%.

Abstract In this paper we will present a process streamlined for well-test validation that involves data integration between different database systems, incorporated with well models, and how the process can leverage real-time data to present a full scope of well-test analysis to enhance the capability for assessing well-test performance. The workflow process demonstrates an intuitive and effective way for analyzing and validating a production well test via an interactive digital visualization. This approach has elevated the quality and integrity of the well-test data, as well as improved the process cycle efficiency that complements the field surveillance engineers to keep track of well-test compliance guidelines through efficient well-test tracking in the digital interface. The workflow process involves five primary steps, which all are conducted via a digital platform: Well Test Compliance: Planning and executing the well test Data management and integration Well Test Analysis and Validation: Verification of the well test through historical trending, stability period checks, and well model analysis Model validation: Correcting the well test and calibrating the well model before finalizing the validity of the well test Well Test Re-testing: Submitting the rejected well test for retesting and final step Integrating with corporate database system for production allocation This business process brings improvement to the quality of the well test, which subsequently lifts the petroleum engineers’ confidence level to analyze well performance and deliver accurate well-production forecasting. A well-test validation workflow in a digital ecosystem helps to streamline the flow of data and system integration, as well as the way engineers assess and validate well-test data, which results in minimizing errors and increases overall work efficiency.

With the deep mining in coal mine, heat damage is one of the technical issues need to be solved. HEMS cooling system in Sanhejian Coal Mine is a process system for high-temperature heat damage controlling in deep coal mine, in which cool energy extracted to reduce work face’s ambient temperature to achieve heat damage controlling. Part of the cool energy is from the level circulating of cooling water in -700 level main raodway, the other is from the mine water. We analyze the energy consumption of every subsystem during operation of the HEMS system, which could provide a theoretical basis and technical guidance on more efficiently running of cooling system deep in the future.

This article considers mining and geological conditions of the site “Blagodatny” of the mine named after A.D. Ruban located underneaththe old open pit coal mine and the hydraulic-mine dump. The potentially dangerous zones in the undermined rock mass have been identified based onthe conditions of formation of water inflow into mine workings. Safe depthof coal seams mining has been calculated depending on the type of water body – the hydraulic-mine dump.

Currently, renewable energy is increasingly important in the energy sector. One of the so-called renewable energy sources is geothermal energy. The most popular solution implemented by both small and large customers is the consumption of low-temperature geothermal energy using borehole heat exchanger (BHE) systems assisted by geothermal heat pumps. Such an installation can operate regardless of geological conditions, which makes it extremely universal. Borehole heat exchangers are the most important elements of this system, as their design determines the efficiency of the entire heating or heating-and-cooling system. Filling/sealing slurry is amongst the crucial structural elements. In borehole exchangers, reaching the highest possible thermal conductivity of the cement slurry endeavors to improve heat transfer between the rock mass and the heat carrier. The article presents a proposed design for such a sealing slurry. Powdered magnesium was used as an additive to the cement. The approximate cost of powdered magnesium is PLN 70–90 per kg (EUR 15–20/kg). Six different slurry formulations were tested. Magnesium flakes were used in designs A, B, C, and magnesium shavings in D, E and F. The samples differed in the powdered magnesium content BWOC (by weight of cement). The parameters of fresh and hardened sealing slurries were tested, focusing mainly on the thermal conductivity parameter. The highest thermal conductivity values were obtained in design C with the 45% addition of magnesium flakes BWOC.
