Nutrition is the second of two principal concepts (the first being infectious disease) in critical care not heavily emphasized in core anesthesiology training for reasons that are obvious. Optimal nutritional management is imperative to achieve positive outcomes in surgical patients. Wound healing, mobilization, and respiratory function are all particularly affected by nutritional status, and the optimal application assessment of nutrition directly affects surgical patients in the long term. Clinically, many physicians may take nutrition for granted and potentially conclude that it is not acutely important. Following consuming this content, the reader will be better equipped to educate their colleagues on the optimal assessment and application of perioperative nutrition. This chapter provides clinically useful and examination-oriented substrate to an equal degree, while being optimally digestible by the reader (no pun intended).

Prevention and healing of pressure ulcers in critically ill patients can be especially challenging because of the patients’ burden of illness and degree of physiological compromise. Providing adequate nutrition may help halt the development or worsening of pressure ulcers. Optimization of nutrition can be considered an essential ingredient in prevention and healing of pressure ulcers. Understanding malnutrition in critical care patients, the effect of nutrition on wound healing, and the application of evidence-based nutritional guidelines are important aspects for patients at high risk for pressure ulcers. Appropriate screenings for nutritional status and risk for pressure ulcers, early collaboration with a registered dietician, and administration of appropriate feeding formulations and micronutrient and macronutrient supplementation to promote wound healing are practical solutions to improve the nutritional status of critical care patients. Use of nutritional management and enteral feeding protocols may provide vital elements to augment nutrition and ultimately result in improved clinical outcomes.

This innovative developmental research study aims to determine the effects of a mobile nutrition application on the nutritional status and wound healing of 72 immobilized patients in long-term care in Thailand. The patients were randomized into two groups, a control group receiving conventional care and an experimental group using the mobile nutrition application

This prospective study used hypoalbuminemia as one of the indicator of nutritional status for patients who are admitted for elective or emergency surgery. It will be invaluable to have the predictors that can assess the complication before the operation procedure,so that deciet factors can be corrected in order to reduce wound healing complications (like wound infection, wound dehiscence and anastomotic leak). Effect of Hypoalbuminemia in wound healing and AIM: related complications in surgical patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS:This study conducted on patients admitted in surgery deparment of Dr. PDMMC & Hospital Amravati, for major elective or emergency surgery between 1Jan2021 to 30Aug2021 over 100 patients. Pati RESULT: ents with hypoalbuminemia are more tends to develop wound related complications than patients with normal albumin level. Serum albumin levels can be consider CONCLUSION: one of best predictor for wound related complication.

Abstract: Good nutritional status is important in wound healing. Mal nutritionin surgical patients can affect the morbidity due to disruption of wound healing and decreased resistance to infection. The research objective was to identification of nutritional status relationship with the speed of wound healing in children Installing A BLU Hospital In patient Prof. DR. R.D. Kandou Manado. This study uses correlation, cross-sectional approach. The sample of 25 patients. The collection of data through observation and questionnaires. The results showeda no rmalnutritional status as many as 10 patients (40%) showed healing of wounds ≤5 days, while only 1 patient (4%) with sufficient nutrition having wound healing ≥5 days. Based on statistical tests there was no association between nutritional status at speeds wound healing in children (p=0.825) and the correlation coefficient or (r=0.047) indicating that indicates the level of a weak association with the positive pattern. Conclusions The clinical studyis very influential on the nutritional status of wound healing in which nutritional support showed a betterhealing process in surgical outcomes were good but the Stats test showed there was no correlation between the two variables. Keywords: Nutritional Status, Children, Wounds Operations, Wound healing.

A study of 38 patients was undertaken at the main University Hospital in Alexandria. The sample was divided into a control group and an experimental group. Findings show statistically significant differences between the two groups in the level of education, but no difference in blood picture, body mass index or nutritional status. There was a difference in the rate of wound healing in the two groups, and a relationship between the nutritional status and wound healing in the control group. Total hospital stays for the control group were longer than those for the experimental group. The nutritional status of surgical patients, as well as their food intake, should be evaluated at short intervals before and after surgery

At present, the incidence of injuries in Indonesia is quite high, as seen from data on traffic accidents in the general public. There are several factors that affect wound healing, one of which is nutritional status. Based on the preliminary data retrieval conducted by researchers in the seruni surgery room in the last 1 month namely in March, it was found that the number of wounded patients was 109 patients, where the number of men was 78 (71.56%) while the number of women was 31 ( 28.44%) The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the wound healing process in RSUD. H. Andi. Sulthan Daeng Radja Kab. Bulukumba. This research uses the type of design of this research is quantitative research. This type of research uses analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study were 41 respondents taken by purposive sampling method. Data analysis in this study used the chi-square test (chi square test). The results of the analysis used the chi-square statistical test with a confidence level (α = 0.05). Based on the results of this test, the p value is 0.001, thus p <α (0.001 <0.05), then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between nutritional status and the process of wound healing in RSUD. H. Andi. Sulthan Daeng Radja Kab. Bulukumba. Researchers suggest that this study be used as a material consideration in the fulfillment of nutrition in wound care patients in RSUD.H.A. Sulthan Daeng Radja Kab. Bulukumba and this research can be continued by conducting research related to the wound healing process and linking it with other variables.
