This introduction outlines the primary contexts for the volume that follows, offering a way to conceive of appendical texts not only as fake or less-than, but as works of literature in their own right. What we know about the specific conditions of production of the three corpora is explored, together with what is and has historically been at stake in the determination of them as genuine or spurious. Taking the poems on their own terms, we suggest, requires engaging with what the notion of authorship is and how it functions in classical scholarship, and also with how canons are formed and unformed. So too, serious attention to the appendical texts may allow us to think differently about the aesthetic issues that so often underpin our appreciation of the literature we study.

This article reveals the philosophical grounds of the aesthetics of color, analyzes the correlation between the structures of philosophical and artistic comprehension of coloristics. Interaction of philosophy and art as the forms of cultural identity manifests in the sphere of intellectual understanding of the perception of color and its semantics in painting. In the hidden logic of contemplation of color, can be traced the outlines of the problematic of transcendental and intelligible in art conditions for the aesthetic approach towards chromatic space. Color creates the visual beauty, thus it is apparent why the aesthetic knowledge seeks to clarify to which extent we can assess the experience of color – the result of coloration of light. The art itself creates the so-called color ontology of the world. First the first time, the beauty of color and its perception are analyzed in the context of correlation between art and transcendental traditions of philosophizing  (Descartes, Kant, early Husserl –  his work “The Philosophy of Arithmetic”) that allows matching the key to a new interpretation of the tradition of color. Determination of its meaning requires comparing history and structure of the philosophical and artistic metaphor of color. It is demonstrated that the phenomenon of color is of crucial significance for the aesthetics, as it implies not only comprehension of the problem of correlation between nature and art, but also cognition of the beauty of color, its universal value for all forms of art, profound structures of perception of coloristic phenomena, picturesque unveiling of the color harmony of the painting.

AbstractIn this paper, I discuss Kant’s concept-less schematism (KU, 5: 287) in the third Critique1 and make three claims: 1) concept-less schematism is entirely consistent with the schematism in the first Critique; 2) concept-less schematism is schematism with no empirical concept as an outcome; and 3) in accordance with 1) and 2), the imagination is free to synthesize the given manifold and leads to judgements of taste without this meaning either that the categories play no role at all or that these judgements are full-fledged cognitive determining judgements. While most commentators read the freedom of the imagination as its independence from the understanding, I argue that the freedom of the imagination is based on a non-determining employment of the pure concepts of the understanding. The freedom of the aesthetic imagination consists in the temporal schematization of the categories without any complementary determination of the empirical concept.

The intermaxillary relations refer to the position of the mandible in relation to the maxilla in the vertical and horizontal planes, being the occlusion vertical dimension (OVD) and the centric relation (CR) essential in the treatment with complete dentures. This article reports a case of reestablishing intermaxillary relations with conventional complete dentures (CCD).A 82-year-old male patient sought care to replace his complete dentures due to dissatisfaction with the aesthetics and chewing function. After anamnesis and extra and intraoral exams, it was found that the current complete dentures showed large wear of the teeth, causing decreased OVD, aesthetic, and masticatory damage. The edges had satisfactory conditions for CCD rehabilitation. From the anatomical impressions of edges were obtained study models for making individual trays, later used for functional impression and obtaining the working models, on which were made wax plans. After adjustment of the upper wax plane and registration of the facial arch, the upper model was mounted on the semi-adjustable articulator. For the determination of the OVD, metric, physiological, aesthetic, and phonetic methods were used, and for the determination of CR, manipulation and physiological methods were used. The inferior model was assembled after determination of intermaxillary relations. Teeth were selected and mounted. In the aesthetic and functional testing of the teeth, occlusion, OVD, and esthetics were restored. The dentures were polymerized and installed. In proservations, the patient reported improvement in chewing, aesthetics, and phonetic. It was concluded that the reestablishment of intermaxillary relations contributed to aesthetic, masticatory, and phonetic rehabilitation.

Abstract - Development Telecommunication Tower growth cannot be avoided. Accordingly, the local government makes local regulations on Planning and Control of Telecommunication Tower to avoid illegal construction of Telecommunication Tower because makes a reduction in open land and also reduces the aesthetic value of the spatial region. The researcher conducted a study on the implementation of methods haversine on a geographic information system is expected to simplify the process of distance measurements for the determination of Telecommunication Tower towards he elliptical shape of the earth. Objective: To describe the aesthetic treatment stage of gingival enlargement with gingival hyperpigmentation. Determination of the type of action detail will assist many clinicians in diagnosis and treat gingival enlargement with hyperpigmentation.Methods: The 17-year-old male patient, coming with his enlarged gums. Patients claimed to have no hypertension, blood disorders, diabetes and hepatitis. After general check-up and early treatment, gingivectomy and gingival depigmentation were performed using scalpel no. 15c. The oral administration administered was 500mg tid amoxicillin and 500mg tid.prn mefenamic acid.Results: after gingivectomy has performed multiple diastema appears and suggested orthodontia treatment. The focus of this paper is the memorial structure, An Sùileachan, at Uig on the Island of Lewis which was designed by Will Maclean and Marian Leven and built by stonemasons Ian Smith and James Crawford in 2013. The memorial, dedicated to the Land Raiders of Reef, is the fourth in a series of memorial sculptures to commemorate the struggles of the people against landlord control in different communities on the Island of Lewis. The title for this paper ‘Mutations from Below’ is used by Michel Foucault in his radical re-interpretation of classification systems, The Order of Things. Much of Foucault's writing is concerned with power relations, the way that power is exercised over people's freedom. The democratic thrust of Foucault's writings is paralleled in the determination of the artists, Maclean and Leven, to give a voice to the unrepresented voices of the people of Reef at the time of the Land Raid in 1913 and more generally to the voices of the people in their opposition to their treatment at the hands of landowners and their factors during the Clearances. In successive stages of the essay, the insights of different cultural theorists – Martin Heidegger, Gianni Vattimo, Mikhail Bakhtin, and Jacques Rancière – help to ground the argument in philosophical exegesis. Finally, the paper seeks to determine the nature and extent of the connection between the political and the aesthetic within the memorial sculptural form as exemplified at An Sùileachan.

To the uninitiated, it is quite probable that the results that art conservators derive from analytical techniques, may resemble alchemy, but they do not create gold from lead. Instead, they represent the composition of an object as its chemical components. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) has long been used for the compositional determination of minerals and metals in the mining and manufacturing industries, and over the past few years the applications in art and conservation increased rapidly. In addition, technical photography (in which filtering determines which wavelengths of light reach the camera) has the ability to create a new art form – one that, apart from being visually appealing, can provide information on the materials which had been used by the artist. In this manner, a whole new layer of information may be revealed, adding to the aesthetic and spiritual impact of the work. In this article, two objects of African art, namely a century-old prayer scroll from Ethiopia and a twodecades old sculpture by South African artist Lucky Sibiya, are investigated to see if this ‘alchemy’ can reveal that which even the artists were unaware of.
