This study analyzed the relationships between utilitarian value, hedonic value, intention to use an airline’s social networking service (SNS) hashtag, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and brand loyalty. A research survey consisting of 220 samples was conducted with respondents who had experience using airline SNS hashtags. Finally, 204 answers were analyzed after excluding 16 unreliable answers. The results show that utilitarian value significantly influenced the intention to use hashtags, while hedonic value, intention to use, and eWOM had no significant effect on brand loyalty. Moreover, the correlation between utilitarian value and intention to use indicated that hashtags had a meaningful impact. However, hedonic value, intention to use, and eWOM were relatively inconsequential. This research ascertained behavioral intention based on previous studies of the theory of perceived value (utilitarian value and hedonic value) and the relationships between each variable. In addition, by analyzing the behavioral intention of customers from an airline perspective, it contributes to a more effective marketing strategy based on social curation. Thus, this research facilitates practical applications by finding a method to improve airline customers’ SNS activity and involving the brand loyalty of its customers.

The study investigated the most common sources of brand loyalty in Zimbabwe’s tourism destination. This was based on two dominant sources of brand loyalty which are attitudinal and behavioural loyalty. The main reason for the study was that Zimbabwe’s tourism brand is underperforming due to various socio-economic and political factors such that authorities should know on the most prevailing source of brand loyalty. This helps in formulating strategies that turn either attitudinal or behavioural loyalty to better Zimbabwe tourism brand performance. The study used a sequential mixed methods research design which is a combination of both qualitative and quantitative approaches. In-depth interviews were carried out with various experts from the tourism industry in order to come up with the common sources of tourist loyalty in Zimbabwe. The identified variables were personal experience, general perception, media propaganda, word of mouth reference and speculations. These variables were then investigated as sources of brand loyalty through survey questionnaires that were distributed in the Zimbabwe tourism accommodation sector and resorts. The results showed that the most effective source of brand loyalty is media propaganda followed by word of mouth reference then speculation, personal experience and general perception. The most common sources have been classified as attitudinal effects and that study recommended effective media publicity management, sponsored familarisation tours and tourism brand showcasing partnerships at both regional and international levels.

Favourable word-of-mouth, customer satisfaction and trust are essential elements for strengthening customer brand loyalty to gain a sustainable advantage in a competitive market. However, there is a relative scarcity of research on the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on brand loyalty through the mediated role of brand trust in the herbal medicine market. Consequently, this research aimed to assess the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on loyalty through the mediating role of trust in the herbal medicine market. A survey questionnaire was utilised to obtain empirical data from a sample of 265 customers through systematic sampling strategy. Covariance-based structural equation modelling was employed to examine the hypotheses formulated to achieve the aim of the study. The research established that positive word-of-mouth, satisfaction, and trust significantly impact loyalty in the herbal medicine market. More importantly, the research indicated that the customers` trust partially mediated the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on loyalty in the herbal medicine market. Hence, this research contributes to advancing the extant brand management literature by establishing the intervening role of trust in the relationship between word-of-mouth, satisfaction and loyalty in the herbal medicine market. This research further provides a reference point to encourage the practitioners to develop and track the customers` word-of-mouth, satisfaction and brand trust to enhance loyalty in the industry.

This study investigates the moderating effect of perceived risk and information diagnosticity on the relationship between brand loyalty and word-of-mouth (WOM) as well as viral marketing activities (VMA) in e-retailer websites. Although extant research in marketing suggests that brand loyalty leads to positive WOM, this study examines the moderating effect of the consumer's perceived risk on this relationship in the context of e-retailer websites where customers repeatedly encounter new and uncertain situations every time they visit the e-retailer. This study also examines the moderating effect of information diagnosticity on the interaction relationship stated earlier. Findings reveal that risk perception negatively moderates the impact of brand loyalty on WOM and VMA and information diagnosticity of online reviews can help reduce the negative perceptions caused by risk factors.
