Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan: budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan komitmen; komunikasi dengan komitmen, komitmen dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan kinerja melalui komitmen; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru melalui komitmen. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 250 orang guru di 100 Sekolah yang dipilih secara stratified proporsional random sampling dari populasi sebesar 2.276 orang guru yang tersebar di 274 SD Negeri di Kota Banjarmasin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriftip dan analisi jalur. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komitmen memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja guru, komitmen merupakan perantara hubugan budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru dan hubungan komunikasi dengan kinerja guru. Kata Kunci: budaya sekolah, komunikasi, komitmen, kinerja THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL CULTURE, COMMUNICATION, AND COMMITMENT AND THE STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ PERFORMANCE Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the relationship between: school culture and tea- chers’ performance; communication and teachers’ commitment; school culture and commitment; communication and commitment; commitment and teachers’ performance; school culture and performance through commitment; communication and teachers’ performance through commitment. The sample consisting of 250 teachers from 100 schools was selected using the stratified proportional random sampling technique from a population of 2,276 teachers teaching in 274 state elementary schools in Banjarmasin Municipality. The data were collected using an instrument which had been validated and which was reliable. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis and the path analysis. The findings showed that there was relationship between: school culture and teachers’ performance, communication and performance, school culture and commitment, communication and commitment, commitment and teachers’ performance. Commitment became an intervening variable between school culture and teachers’ performance and between communication and teachers’ performance. This research aims to find out about the implementation of character education in building school culture. The research was conducted at elementary schools in Sambas Regency with representation of a number of elementary schools from several sub-districts in Sambas Regency. The data were collected by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches, with data collection techniques using interviews, FGDs and questionnaires. The qualitative data analysis used the interactive analysis technique of Miles and Huberman, while the quantitative data analysis used factor analysis and percentage. The results showed that in general the implementation of character education in building school culture in the Sambas Regency elementary schools in several dimensions was well implemented. However, in certain parts, especially in the dimensions of the program and evaluation, it has not been fully actualized as expected. Meanwhile, school culture as a whole has developed well, especially in the dimensions of disciplinary culture, exemplary culture and culture of order and cleanliness. These three dimensions of culture are the fundamental foundation of building school culture. In the disciplinary culture dimension, the biggest contribution is to hold the midday prayer in congregation, while in the dimension of order and cleanliness culture, the biggest contribution is to hold a school ceremony.Key words: Character Education, School Culture

This study aims to develop a soft skills model based school culture for character education for elementary school students.This study is a Research and Development study with a modified Sugiyono model. This research was conducted in 3 elementary schools in the target area of III, Jekulo District, Kudus Regency. Data collection techniques using test techniques and non-test techniques. Data analysis in this study was carried out descriptively quantitative and statistical tests using t-test.The results of the research were in the form of a soft skills model design product based on school culture which had components of goal setting, soft skill values, school culture and character education. The soft skills model based on school culture is suitable for use as a learning model in elementary schools. The results of the t test show that t count t table, so that the soft skills model based on school culture is effectively applied in learning.

The development of the nation's character has not shown progress in the progress of its citizens to become more characterized. The phenomenon is that many people's behavior is not by the character imbued with the Pancasila philosophy. This study aims to analyze the program for strengthening character education based on school culture as a strengthening of the civic character of elementary school students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection in interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman method triangulation. The results showed that the school culture-based character education program is a civic reinforcement for students by familiarizing the main character values in religion, nationalism, independence, cooperation in various school cultural activities. In addition, there is support in the implementation of character education programs as an enhancer of entrepreneurial character in Ngrukeman Yogyakarta Elementary School students, such as adequate infrastructure and teacher training. This paper concludes that the school culture-based character education program as a strengthening of the civic character of students in elementary schools can be implemented with the cooperation of various parties in the school. The recommendations in this article are to explore further the school culture-based character education program, especially in elementary schools.

<p>Character values can be integrated not only in the classroom, but also in the school culture. Some teachers are not familiar with the ways of integrating these values in the school culture. The purpose of this study was to find out about implementation of character values integration in school culture at elementary schools in Jakarta. This research was conducted in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. A quantitatively descriptive method was used for this study. Questionnaires related to integration of character values in school culture consists of religious, honesty, discipline, clean and healthy, tolerance, working ethos, and nationalism culture. A total of 63 principals from 63 elementary schools in Jakarta were involved in the study. The result showed that means of character values integration in religious, honesty, discipline, clean and healthy, tolerance, working ethos, and nationalism culture were achieved 13.40, 6.16, 17.71, 13.24, 11.81, 12.33, and 10.49 or 83.75 %, 68.44 %, 98.39 %, 88.27 %, 98.42 %, 94.85 %, and 95.36 % from theoretically maximum scores. This study concludes that character values has already been integrated effectively in religious, discipline, clean and healthy, tolerance, working ethos, and nationalism culture at 63 elementary schools in Jakarta.  On the other hand, integration of character values in honesty culture hasn’t been effective at 63 elementary schools in Jakarta.</p>
