PurposeDue to the eruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, many universities were forced to shift from the traditional learning practices to digital learning. Hence, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the factors that affect the university student's adoption of mobile technologies for mobile learning (m-learning) in their learning process.Design/methodology/approachTechnology acceptance model (TAM) is incorporated to study the adoption of mobile learning by university students. Quantitative research technique is used as core research approach in this study. Structural equation modelling (SEM), which is a part of quantitative research method, was employed on the congregated data via a set of questionnaire from 268 University students. SEM is used to explore the relationships among the hypothesized constructs. SPSS and AMOS software were used for the analysis of data.FindingsThis study validated the updated TAM model and assessed the students' adoption of mobile technologies for m-learning during COVID-19. All the constructs of proposed model were found to be significant with more than 50% average variance extracted. It was found that two external constructs mobile system efficacy and mobile service efficacy appended in technology acceptance model show the direct positive effect on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use constructs. However, hypothesized relationships were found to be unsupported among perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness and ease of use during m-learning impact the students' usage attitude which consequently impact the students' adoption behaviour towards adoption of mobile technology.Research limitations/implicationsSix constructs were considered for this study; however, mobile information quality for mobile learning was not included which could affect students' adoption criteria. Additionally, this study is limited to a country where future study needs validation of propose constructs in different demographic settings.Originality/valueNo study allied to the students' adoption of mobile technology for m-learning has accomplished in the context of India during COVID-19. Furthermore, TAM model has been updated with regard to the students' adoption of mobile learning during COVID-19 in Indian higher education setting.

With the development of mobile technology, the intellectualization and intellectualization of mobile learning technology have greatly expanded the dimension of time and space of learning, and become a useful supplement to the traditional teaching mode. Taking College English vocabulary teaching as an example, this paper studies college English vocabulary teaching under the support of mobile technology, in order to provide new ways and methods to meet the individual learning needs of different learners. This paper designs College English vocabulary teaching based on mobile technology and puts forward a basic framework of mobile learning for college students’ English vocabulary learning. In this paper, English vocabulary technology is applied to college English vocabulary teaching. Through experiments, it promotes college students’ English vocabulary memory level, vocabulary use level and interest in English learning, respectively, to verify the effectiveness of College English vocabulary teaching mode based on mobile technology. The experimental results show that the flexibility of mobile learning can take into account the different learning needs of students at different levels of the same group, categorize and categorize the individual needs of students, and adjust different learning content and learning difficulty ladder to a certain extent. The innovation of this paper is to fully combine mobile technology with college English vocabulary teaching, solve practical application problems, and improve the application value of mobile technology in college teaching.

Mobile learning based on smart phones has become a hot topic in research.In this paper, questionnaires and interviews were applied to survey the state of Chinese university students' mobile learning by using smart phones, and 360 students from 5 universities in Wuhan were chose as samples.The research discovers that the students' level of understanding about mobile learning is still low.Even though most of them possess smart phones with Android system, they seldom use smart phones to learn their major in after-class time.To improve the performance of mobile learning by using smart phones,the R&D of smart phones should be strengthened, more abundant learning APP should be developed and the coverage of wifi should be widened.

Objective - Mobile learning had widely impacted higher education, providing technology enabled educational opportunities to the mobile-first learners of the millennium, anytime, anywhere. The adoption of mobile technology rapidly increased among higher education institutions of Maldives, changing the psychological perception of distance learners who were located in different atolls of the country. Methodology/Technique - This paper was developed to explore psychological readiness of institutional distance learning students to adopt mobile learning in Maldives. Using quantitative approach, the research was conducted among the distance learners from three key higher education institutions of Maldives. Contributing to the e- questionnaire, three hundred and forty-three (n=340) students expressed their psychological readiness to adopt mobile learning in Maldives. Data collected using mobile technology was analysed using the analysis summary retrieved from Google forms and SPSS. Finding - The analysis revealed that majority of the students of Maldives higher education institutions were acquainted and psychologically ready to adopt mobile learning as a convenient mode of delivery. Novelty - Thereby, it can be said that students were willing to welcome mobile learning enhanced by mobile technology and were psychologically ready to adopt the emerging shift in the paradigm. The use of mobile learning tool has controversy in Indonesian schools. Some teachers feel that it would interfere with the learning process in the classroom, but at the same time teachers saw a lot of potential of mobile technology. The goal of this study is to observe secondary schools on facilitating students through the use of mobile learning. This research is descriptive qualitative evaluations on the assembling mobile learning in several secondary schools in several regions in Indonesia during 2014-2015. The results of this study indicate that some of the schools that have implemented mobile learning, there is a tendency that mobile learning was not in a planned and structured as a school program. Two things are important to solve this condition are the availability of government policy and increase literacy teachers in managing mobile learning application.

Mobile learning (M - learning) emerges as the essential mark of technological revolution 4.0 and the great development of modern technology. It has proved that their smart functions were accompanied by the rapid expansion of mobile devices to support learning of learners everywhere and every time. Although mobile technology is expected to apply suitably to teaching and learning, the capacity of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students to use mobile devices to support their English learning needs to be thoroughly evaluated. This paper is to present how EFL learners at a Vietnam University can exploit mobile technology by questionnaire through a survey of 300 EFL students. The investigation took place during the second semester of the 2018 - 2019 school year. The quantitative approach has been used to gather and analyze data, and results have shown that EFL students are confident of learning English through mobile devices through their use of mobile technology. This shows that learning English by mobile devices is feasible and has got positive perceptions from the students. Furthermore, the research results are expected to contribute as a theoretical background as reference for future researches related to mobile learning applications.

This paper reviews major issues of mobile technology and mobile web usage among university students, including characteristics, importance and problems faced by university students when accessing web sites through mobile devices. This article also reviews the technology adoption models/theories that will best explain the adoption of IT/IS. The author identified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the best model in explaining adoption of mobile web because TAM is the most suitable in explaining behavioural intention in the context of mobile devices. Mobile Web is the World Wide Web which is accessed through a mobile device such as laptop computer, smart phone or tablet. It establishes the entirety of the Internet and is not limited to webpages which have been specifically designed to be viewed through mobile devices. Distinctive features of mobile technology especially mobile web technology and its progressive impacts on information transfer and learning process has created many educational opportunities for higher education institutions. Although mobile devices are highly flexible, accessible and convenient, students are still facing great problems when they use mobile web for educational purpose.
