This paper explains and demonstrates why uses’ needs are as important as green design principle and a good design should consider a lot on human’s feeling. It suggests that future green building will be based on principles that fundamentally address many of the issues that have become to light from this research. They will offer good working environments in which people are able to work to the best of their ability, and have the added bonus of low energy consumption.

To summarize the problems and needs of the current rural life, identify the pathway that suits the sustainable development of rural areas, and propose the design concept and method that meet the current rural ecological design requirements. Use the organized research approaches. This chapter makes a case study of Nanma Village, provides the theoretical and design practice reference for the rural sustainable development in China, and establishes the knowledge and methodology system that meets the requirements of rural sustainable development. This chapter proposes the design concept and method in line with the current requirements of rural ecological design, suggests that the current village design should be adapted to “local conditions,” and indicates that the harmonious development between human and environment will be a new possible direction for the rural sustainable development and design in future.

Streetscape RTA Milono in Palangka Raya city is a part of green open space which has the potential improved the ecological, aesthetic, and preservation of local wisdom in strengthening the character of landscape as a city identity. The study aimed to identify the local wisdom potential of Dayak Ngaju culture, then to analysed the basis of a design concept that met ecological design principles; and arrange it as a recommendation for streetscape ecodesign concept. The ecodesign concept is based on applied local wisdom as an alternative solution to streetscape problems. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Local wisdom can be form into tangible and intangible. The results of the study found the potential of the local wisdom of the Dayak Ngaju culture as a basis for the design concept and fulfilled the principles of ecological design, there are: Huma Betang and the landscape, Tabat, Beje, Handil, Pamatang, Tajahan, Kaleka, Sepan, Pukung pahewan, Balanga, Kalang, Telawang, Lawang sakepeng, philosophy of Batang garing, Belom bahadat, philosophy of river, and orientation value; basic concept of “Eco-Cultural-Streetscape Restoration”, which is to restored the character of the streetscape, ecological functions with the local wisdom of the Dayak Ngaju culture.

In the overall urban environment the urban waterfront landscape area plays a dual function of landscape and culture, and is an important incubator for the natural ecology of the city. Therefore, the shaping of the locality of the urban waterfront space is not only to create a beautiful city card, but also to improve the ecology of the city and the inevitable requirements of waterfront landscape construction. This paper first analyses the basic theory of urban waterfront landscape, and then conducts an in-depth study on the principles of urban waterfront landscape design under the ecological design concept. Solutions are proposed for the current problems of urban waterfront landscape design, and feasible landscape design methods are proposed in conjunction with the concept of ecological urbanism. The urban landscape is seen as a resource, guided by the theories of ecology and landscape ecology, and the principles of the ecological design concept, with a view to establishing a harmonious and symbiotic relationship between the environment, the landscape and people, and meeting people's needs and spiritual aspirations.

Children are the future of our country and the hope of the nation. However, due to the particularity of the children, their products in fact caused tremendous waste of resources. The application of new eco-friendly materials could slove the problem. "Green design" and " ecological design" is the design concept in today's society, to protect the social environment and save the global resources. This paper mainly elaborated the design concept of the humanized modern interior of EMU through the analysis of the ecological design of modern EMU. CRH2 type EMU was taken for example to discusses the important principles of ecological design from aspects of environment factors, modern humane ecological design, design methods and material technology. The requirement of recycling can be satisfied by the organic combination of the design concept of EMU, the overall layout, the decoration materials, the functional requirements and the manufacturing technology.

This paper takes the ecological design strategy of the construction of ecological civilization as the research topic, analyzes the connotation of ecological civilization and ecological design, and combines the relationship between ecological civilization and ecological design, adopts the methods of practical research, questionnaire survey, literature and other methods. This paper discusses that ecological design is the need and embodiment of ecological civilization construction, and then puts forward the strategy of developing ecological design on this basis. This paper proposes that designers should shoulder more social responsibility and practice ecological design, so as to introduce ecological awareness into public awareness.
