The article presents examples of the solution of the hydrodynamic problem that arises in the development of powerful electronic devices requiring liquid cooling using the CAD/CAE modeling method. The authors consider poorly documented or undocumented features of such solution based on the use of free software packages - SALOME, OpenFOAM and ParaView for the CAELinux operating system platform.

Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware, and key applications. Android is a software platform and operating system for mobile devices based on the Linux operating system and developed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance. It allows developers to write managed code in a Java-like language that utilizes Google-developed Java libraries but does not support programs developed in native code. The unveiling of the Android platform on 5 November 2007 was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 34 hard-ware, software and telecom companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. When released in 2008, most of the Android platform will be made available under the Apache free-software and open-source license.

Linux is an operating system that it's presence offer many "new concepts" to the market. It’s an open source software developed under GNU project using General Public License (GPL), that gives everyone freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change, and improve the software. The GNU Project was launched in 1984 to develop a complete Unix-like operating system which is free software: the GNU system. GNU is a recursive acronym for "GNU's Not Unix”; it is pronounced “guh-NEW", In Other way we can say that Linux developed, manufactured, and distributed by it's own costumers. They joined together in the Linux communities and create a network among them. It has a unique lateral pattern of relationship. The Author named all of this as the “Linux Phenomenon". This articles will begin by explaining theories about network, and then discuss the and then discuss the Linux phenomenon. Later, the author will explore the Linux's "breakthrough" in networking, and the implication of "how to do business".

The development of the GeoEasy program started in 1997. Twenty years later in 2017 it became free software under GPL license, version 3.0.0 is freely available for everybody. The core development of GeoEasy is made on Linux operating system, using Tcl/Tk script language, thanks to the Tcl/Tk ports to other operating systems, the program can be run on Linux, Windows, Android and OSX machines. Objectives of the development are to create user friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for surveying calculations in a modular structure with flexible, open connections to other programs. Both educational and professional usages are supported.

<p>ABSTRAK <br /> <br />Pada saat ini data telekomunikasi dalam kehidupan manusia sangatlah penting, baik untuk berhubungan antara manusia dalam hal pemenuhan kebutuhan dan informasi maupun hiburan. Sedangkan secara nyata, utuk biaya komunikasi di negara indonesia masih termasuk mahal. Pemanfaatan teknologi VoIP dalam komunikasi yang murah, aman dengan kualitas yang cukup baik sangat tepat untuk diterapkan di negara ini. Pada teknologi VoIP ini berkomunikasi melalui telepon tidak hanya bisa dilakukan dengan mengandalkan pesawat telepon konvensional maupun handphone, namun melalui jaringan internet juga bisa dilakukannya. Dalam penelitian ini metodologi yang digunakan adalah mengimplementasi sistem VoIP pada linux trixbox. Infrastruktur jaringan VoIP yang dirancang menggunakan protokol SIP(session initiation protokol) <br />sebagai protokol komunikasi, memanfaatkan free software linux Trixbox sebagai operating system, asteriks sebagai aplikasi server, dan di sisi client menggunakan softphone X-lite. aplikasi Keyyo VoIP digunakan untuk client pada smartphone.</p>

The slowscan and TV signal of the Philips SEM 505 and the signal of a TV camera attached to a Leitz fluorescent microscope, were digitized by the data acquisition processor of a Masscomp 5520S computer, which is based on a 16.7 MHz 68020 CPU with 10 Mb RAM memory, a graphics processor with two frame buffers for images with 8 bit / 256 grey values, a high definition (HD) monitor (910 × 1150), two hard disks (70 and 663 Mb) and a 60 Mb tape drive. The system is equipped with Imaging Technology video digitizing boards: analog I/O, an ALU, and two memory mapped frame buffers for TV images of the IP 512 series. The Masscomp computer has an ethernet connection to other computers, such as a Vax PDP 11/785, and a Sun 368i with a 327 Mb hard disk and a SCSI interface to an Exabyte 2.3 Gb helical scan tape drive. The operating system for these computers is based on different versions of Unix, such as RTU 4.1 (including NFS) on the acquisition computer, bsd 4.3 for the Vax, and Sun OS 4.0.1 for the Sun (with NFS).

Facility layout is integrated planning of the flow of a product in an operating system to obtain the most effective and efficient interrelation between workers, materials, machinery, and equipment as well as handling and transferring materials. A company engaged in furniture manufacturing has a problem in its production process, namely, the distance between machines is too far so that it affects the cost of handling materials. Distant workstations are found on profile machines, milling machines, measuring machines, cutting machines. Therefore, improvements must be made to the layout of facilities on the production floor so that facility layout is efficient and material handling costs are reduced. The problem-solving approach used is the Graph Method and CRAFT Algorithm. The results of the research show that material handling costs are reduced by 7.58% or Rp. 17,765 using the CRAFT algorithm.

This paper presents the design and development of a mobile application that uses QR codes for the inventory control of a computer center. This application was developed to support the administration of the computer center of the Multidisciplinary Unit Tizimin, with the aim to reduce costs and time of searching for articles when making an inventory, by leveraging the capabilities of smartphones and tablets. The implementation of the system was carried out using free software.
