To get good employees, a good selection process is needed. From the results of the interview, PT. Global Retailindo Pratama uses four criteria for the selection of new employees, education, intelligence, experience, and interviews. All prospective employees must take an exam to measure the criteria of education and intelligence and also have to send a photocopy of proof of their experience. The first stage selection is done to determine the prospective applicants who will take part in the interview. The second stage is conducted to determine the prospective employees who are accepted. The process of assessment and selection is still done by humans, so it takes a lot of time and energy. This problem can be solved by providing an information system for submitting applications and conducting examinations online. All documents are sent in digital form, also automaticlly checking answers from prospective employees. To select prospective employees, a method is needed that can recommend potential prospective employees based on specified criteria. The TOPSIS method is a decision support method that can provide recommendations in accordance with the criteria. The disadvantage of the TOPSIS method is that it requires weighting in the ranking process. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method can be used to determine the criteria weight. Combining AHP and TOPSIS methods can produce more objective ranking results. Combining the AHP and TOPSIS methods can produce better recommendations.

One of the main points of successful employment is the understanding of internal processes and generally accepted standards based on which new personnel are selected. The article discusses the methods and reveals the main criteria for the selection of new employees in Europe and Russia.

The selection of an optimal material is an important aspect of design for mechanical, electrical, thermal, chemical or other application. Many factors (attributes) need to be considered in material selection process, and thus material selection problem is a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem. This paper proposes a new MADM method for material selection problem. G1 method does not need to test consistency of the judgment matrix. Thus it is better than AHP. In this paper, firstly, we use the G1 method to determine the attribute weight. Then TOPSIS method is used to calculate the closeness of the candidate materials with respect positive solution. A practical material selection case is used to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology to determine an optimal combination of process parameters that is capable of generating favorable dimensional accuracy and product quality during turning of commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti) grade 2. Design/methodology/approach The present paper recommends an optimal combination of cutting parameters with an aim to minimize the cutting force (Fc), surface roughness (Ra), machining temperature (Tm) and to maximize the material removal rate (MRR) after turning of CP-Ti grade 2. This was achieved by the simultaneous optimization of the aforesaid output characteristics (i.e. Fc, Ra, Tm, and MRR) using the MCDM-based TOPSIS method. Taguchi’s L9 orthogonal array was used for conducting the experiments. The output responses (cutting force: Fc, surface roughness: Ra, machining temperature: Tm and MRR) were integrated together and presented in terms of a single signal-to-noise ratio using the Taguchi method. Findings The results of the proposed methodology depict that the higher MRR with desirable surface quality and the lower cutting force and machining temperature were observed at a combination of cutting variables as follows: cutting speed of 105 m/min, feed rate of 0.12 mm/rev and depth of cut of 0.5 mm. The analysis of variance test was conducted to evaluate the significance level of process parameters. It is evident from the aforesaid test that the depth of cut was the most significant process parameter followed by cutting speed. Originality/value The selection of an optimal parametric combination during the machining operation is becoming more challenging as the decision maker has to consider a set of distinct quality characteristics simultaneously. This situation necessitates an efficient decision-making technique to be used during the machining operation. From the past literature, it is noticed that only a few works were reported on the multi-objective optimization of turning parameters using the TOPSIS method so far. Thus, the proposed methodology can help the decision maker and researchers to optimize the multi-objective turning problems effectively in combination with a desirable accuracy.

Private companies, government agencies and educational institutions are still experiencing difficulties in selecting employees / employees who are in accordance with their needs and experts in their respective fields. With the increasing number of workers who have different abilities, recruiting new employees requires selection of prospective employees at Ekasakti University, because if this is done manually, it will make it difficult for the staff to receive and also be prone to mistakes in decision making. The decision making system method (Decisions Support System) can be used to help the selection of new employee recipients with the AHP Method. Selection of new employee admissions by the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method can help solve the case of selecting employee recruitment. The model of applying dynamic logic applied in the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) has the advantage that the selection process provides very flexible results

The efficient vehicle procurement is an important business segment of different companies with their own vehicle fleet. It has a significant influence on reducing transport and maintenance costs and on increasing the fleet’s energy efficiency. It is indispensable that managers consider various criteria from several aspects when procuring a vehicle. In that sense, we defined 13 relevant criteria and divided them into four multidisciplinary aspects: Construction-technical, financial, operational, and environmental. Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory-Based Analytic Network Process (DANP) method was applied to evaluate the significance of defined criteria and aspects and their interdependency. It is established that the three most important criteria for vehicle procurement are vehicle price, vehicle maintenance, and vehicle selling price. The most important aspect is construction technical aspect, while the aspect of the environment is the least important. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method was used to rank eight different vehicles, which were considered by vehicle fleet manager at the observed company. This model assists fleet managers in the selection of the most suitable vehicle for procurement, while significantly reducing decision-making time and simultaneously observing all necessary criteria and their weights. Moreover, we have considered 10 different scenarios to establish whether and how the rank of the observed alternatives would change.
