Machine learning is an emerging field of artificial intelligence which can be applied to the agriculture sector. It refers to the automated detection of meaningful patterns in a given data.  Modern agriculture seeks ways to conserve water, use nutrients and energy more efficiently, and adapt to climate change.  Machine learning in agriculture allows for more accurate disease diagnosis and crop disease prediction. This paper briefly introduces what machine learning can do in the agriculture sector.

Tidal fats resources is an important resource in coastal areas of China, which shows a trend of dynamic growth. Ratonal development and efectve utlizaton of tdal fats resources can alleviate the contradicton between more people and less land in China, and is of great signifcance to the development of coastal economy and the protecton of ecological environment in China. Taking Yancheng Tidal Flats of Coastal Areas as an example, analyzes the present situaton of development and utlizaton and the existng problems at the present stage. Relying on the existng industrial foundaton, this paper puts forward the development and utlizaton model of strengthening the constructon of port-neighboring industry, towns and ecological leisure tourism on the basis of modern agriculture

Background: RNA interference (RNAi) is an innovative technique for plant improvement based on naturally occurring mechanisms which show great potential because of their high specificity and possibility to be applied through innovative methods of topical application in plants. This specific innovation sector is worth analysing from the economic perspective given the great potentiality of RNAi-based plants and products to support modern agriculture in reaching the goals for the improvement of agri-food chains global sustainability. This paper aims to evaluate the global landscape of RNAi innovation by analysing patent data as indicators of innovation output. Methods: We revised all patents relating to RNAi in plants based on a dataset of roughly seven thousand patent families. The analysis classified inventions according to a set of variables able to characterise the dynamics of innovation (i.e. public/private ownership, type of plants involved, main traits) while the use of concentration indices provided insights into the evolution of this sector. Results: Results revealed that RNAi is a technique with promising future applications, able to provide solutions to a great variety of agricultural issues and principally developed by the US and Chinese applicants, whereas European innovation capacity in this field appears to be limited. Conclusion: The innovation landscape of plant breeding is rapidly evolving and RNAi technique is probably going to play a major role in this field.

Protection of crop and ornamental plants from noxious organisms — insects, nematodes, mites, pathogens and weeds — is indispensable to modern agriculture. Despite intensive control efforts, about 50% of the world's crops are lost to these organisms, at an estimated annual cost of about 400 billion dollars. Ever since the advent of synthetic pesticides in the 1940s, modern crop protection has been largely based on chemical control. Pesticide expenditures are about 20% of total farming input costs, although this figure varies substantially according to crop and region. Mounting environmental concerns and pest control failures have made It increasingly clear that the use of toxic pesticides In agriculture should be drastically reduced all over the world.
