The phase structure, and electrical and magnetic properties of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3(LSMO)-xAg (xis the mole ratio,x=0, 0.3, 0.5) composite were investigated. It is found that the sample withx=0 is single phase; the samples withx=0.3 and 0.5 present three phase composite structure of the manganese oxide and Ag. With the increasing of Ag content, the grain size of the samples increases and the grain boundaries transition from fully faceted to partially faceted. The permittivity of spectrum (10 MHz - 1 GHz) and the theoretical simulation reveal that the plasma frequencyfpincrease with Ag content, due to the increasing of free electron concentration, which is further supported by the enhancement of conductivity. While for the permeability (μr'), theμr'decrease with the increasing of Ag content at low frequency range (f< 20 MHz), while at the relative high frequency range (f> 300 MHz), theμr'increased with Ag content. Therefore, the introduction of elemental Ag resulted in a higherμr'at the relative high frequency range.

Homodyne photothermal spectrometry (HPS) is a very wide bandwidth signal recovery technique which uses many of the elements of lock-in detection at very low cost. The method uses a frequency sweep, with a high-frequency bandwidth of up to 10 MHz, to excite a linear photothermal system. The response sweep of the photothermal system is downshifted into a bandwidth of a few kilohertz by means of in-phase mixing with the excitation sweep with the use of a four-quadrant double-balanced mixer and a low-pass filter. Under conditions derived from theory, the filter output gives a good approximation to the real part of the photothermal system's frequency response, dispersed as a function of time. From a recording of this signal, the frequency and impulse response of the photothermal system are rapidly recovered at very high resolution. The method has been tested with the use of laser photopyroelectric effect spectrometry and provides an inexpensive, convenient method for the recovery of high-frequency photothermal signals.

In the wake of the global energy crisis, the integration of renewable energy resources, energy storage devices, and electric vehicles into the electric grid has been of great interest towards replacing conventional, fossil-fuel-dependent energy resources. This thesis presents the circuit topology and a control strategy for a 250-W single-phase gridconnected dc-ac converter for photovoltaic (PV) solar applications. The converter is based on the dual active bridge (DAB) kernel employing a series-resonant link and a high-frequency isolation stage. For interfacing the 60-Hz ac grid with the 78-kHz resonant circuit, the converter utilizes a four-quadrant switch array that functions as an ac-ac stage. Therefore, a bipolar low-frequency voltage source, that is the grid voltage, is used to synthesize a symmetrical high-frequency voltage pulse-train for the resonant circuit. Thus, soft switching and the use of a compact ferrite-core transformer have been possible. Then, a fast current-control loop ensures that the converter injects a sinusoidal current in phase with the grid voltage, while a relatively slower feedback loop regulates the converter dc-side voltage, that is, the PV array voltage, at a desired value. To simulate the converter and to design the controllers, the thesis also presents nonlinear large-signal and linearized small-signal state-space averaged models. The performance of the converter is assessed through simulation studies conducted using the aforementioned averaged models, a detailed topological model in the PLECS software environment, and a prototype. An inverter is a circuit which converts the AC voltage into DC voltage. Current use of inverters is very large, especially in industries, offices and housing. Even though now there are many inverter markets, but many are used for household loads, no one uses an inverter for roads lighting system namely sodium lamp because it requires a high frequency and voltage Then the surveyors placed a single phase inverter from the sodium lamp. Single phase inverter tool designed produces a voltage of 10,000 V, Amperage current of 0.20 A and 2000 w Power when tested against overloaded and not overloaded inverter, the results are quite good but in the design and manufacture of a single phase inverter is still lacking, which is only able to start the initial lighting of the sodium lamp because the current is small and the resulting voltage is unstable. Keywords: Single phase inverter, electrical energy, public road lighting, sodium lamp.

This brief review focuses on inverter technologies for connecting photovoltaic (PV) modules to a single-phase grid. The inverters are categorized into four classifications: 1) the number of power processing stages in cascade; 2) the type of power decoupling between the PV odule(s) and the single-phase grid; 3) whether they utilizes a transformer (either line or high frequency) or not; and 4) the type of grid-connected power stage. Various inverter topologies are presented, with issues related to grid connected & standalone applications
