Monitoring Campaign on Sub-Sea Installation

The Deepwater Construction Vessel (DCV) Balder performed an one-and-half year deep water construction project in west Africa. The project started in 2010 and consists of multiple oil fields located in water depths ranging from 1800m to 2100m. Heerema Marine Contractors (the Contractor) has successfully installed a large number of sub-sea structures, flow lines and Risers. Installation procedures were optimized, new deck equipment has been installed and passive heave compensation is designed. These measures enabled the crew to achieve an excellent performance in the swell dominated seas West of Africa. To accurately capture the experiences with the new equipment and procedures, an extensive Offshore Monitoring Campaign (OMC) was performed. To achieve this goal three areas of interest were identified: • Lowering structures to the seabed at deepwater • Offloading of barges alongside the DCV Balder • Motion behavior of DCV Balder in swell environment The objectives of the monitoring campaign were: • Validation of the models and performance of the equipment • Verification of the operability limits for different installation activities • Transfer of knowledge between engineering and operations The paper describes how the Contractor executed the different measurements and how the results from the measurements were fed back into the execution of the project. The challenges which were faced to obtain high quality measurement data will be dealt with. Finally it shows the benefits of performing full-scale measurement to engineer safe and efficient deep water operations.

Quality analysis in manufacturing must use quality measurement data as the premise, degree of accuracy of quality characteristic measurement results depends on measuring system capacity and performance. The purpose of this paper is to study five analysis of variance of the measurement system which apply in the production site. With MM-60 microscope measurement system as an example, through data collection, evaluate its measurement capability, give the report that the measurement system meets the measurement requirements in production, in order to inprove quality control of product on production manufacturing.

Objectives of this study were analyze fish auction participant satisfaction to auction services in TPI Morodemak, analyze attributes effect, services that fit to service quality measurement, and analyzed fish auction participants perception to performance and importance for fish auction house Morodemak services. Used descriptive method and purposive sampling with 49 respondents consists of commercial fishmongers, traditional fishmongers, purse seine owners, and boat lift net owners as fish auction participant. Satisfication measurement used Customer Satisfication Index (CSI), Importance and Performance Analysis (IPA) and gap analysis. Results from this study were value CSI 20% (0.2) indicate the auction participants dissatisfied with the services provided, IPA show there are four attributes should be develop, two elements have not been completed based on measurement requirements of service satisfaction, gap value average -0.05 means the auction participants were not satisfied with the performance of TPI services because the performance value was lower than the importance value.

In this paper, a simplified underhood environment is proposed to investigate the air flow distribution in a vehicle-like set-up and provide high quality measurement data that can be used for the validation of Computational Fluid Dynamic methods. The rig can be equipped with two types of front openings representative for electrified vehicles. Furthermore, it is possible to install differently shaped blockages downstream of the fan to imitate large underhood components. The distance between the blockages and the fan can be varied in longitudinal and lateral direction. The measurements are performed with Laser Doppler Anemometry at a fixed distance downstream of the fan. The results show that the lack of an upper grille opening in the configuration for a battery electric vehicle has a notable impact on the flow field in the reference case without any downstream blockage. However, the differences in the flow field between the two front designs become less when a downstream obstruction is present. The longitudinal and lateral position of the blockages have a minor impact on the flow field compared to the shape of the obstacle itself.

Aiming at assessing the performance of alternative methods to Penman-Monteith FAO56 for estimating the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) for Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, the methods temperature radiation, Hicks-Hess, Hargreaves-Samani (1982), Turc, Priestley-Taylor, Tanner-Pelton, Jensen-Haise, Makkink, modified Hargreaves, Stephens-Stewart, Abtew, global radiation, Ivanov, Lungeon, Hargreaves-Samani (1985), Benavides-Lopez, original Penman, Linacre, Blaney-Morin, Romanenko, Hargreaves (1974), McCloud, Camargo, Hamon, Kharrufa, McGuiness-Bordne, and Blaney-Criddle were compared to that standard method recommended by FAO. The estimations were correlated by linear regression and assessed by using the Person’s correlation coefficient (r), concordance index (d), and performance index (c) using a set of meteorological data of approximately 40 years. The methods modified Hargreaves, Stephens-Stewart, Abtew, global radiation, Ivanov, Lungeon, Hargreaves-Samani (1985), Benavides-Lopez, original Penman, and Linacre should be avoided, as they did not present excellent results. The methods McCloud, Camargo, Hamon, Kharrufa, McGuinness-Bordne, Blaney-Criddle, Hargreaves (1974), Romanenko, and Blaney-Morin were classified as very bad, not being recommended. In contrast, the methods temperature radiation, Hicks-Hess, Hargreaves-Samani (1982), Turc, Priestley-Taylor, Tenner-Pelton, Jensen-Haise, and Makkink presented excellent performance indices and can be applied in the study region.

In this paper, we investigate the problem of improving data quality using the Kalman filter in Matlab Simulink. Recently, this filter has become one of the most common algorithms for filtering and processing data in the implementation of control systems (including automated control systems) and the creation of software systems for digital filtering from noise and interference, for example, speech signals. It is also widely used in many fields of science and technology. Due to its simplicity and efficiency, it can be found in GPS receivers, in devices for processing sensor readings for various purposes, etc. It is known that one of the important tasks that should be solved in systems for processing sensor readings is the ability to detect and filter noise. Sensor noise leads to unstable measurement data. This, of course, ultimately leads to a decrease in the accuracy and performance of the control device. One of the methods that can be used to solve the problem of optimal filtering is the development of cybernetic algorithms based on the Kalman and Wiener filters. The filtering process can be carried out in two forms, namely: hardware and software algorithms. Hardware filtering can be built electronically. However, it is less efficient as it requires additional circuitry in the system. To overcome this obstacle, you can use filtering in the form of programming algorithms in a single method. In addition to the fact that it does not require electronic hardware circuitry, the filtering performed is even more accurate because it uses a computational process. The paper analyzes the results of applying the Kalman filter to eliminate errors when measuring the coordinates of the tracked target, to obtain a "smoothed" trajectory and shows the results of the filter development process when processing an electrocardiogram. The development of the Kalman filter algorithm is based on the procedure of recursive assessment of the measured state of the research object.

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the environment, especially the quality of air on house price. In addition, it also includes the research of the linkage between the index of air quality and average price of residential house which located in the most crowded districts of Ulaanbaatar such as Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, Sukhbaatar, Songinokhairkhan and Khan-Uul. The statistical analysis and statistics determination methods were applied to identify the relationship utilizing the air quality index, determined from the air quality measurement data recorded in 2015-2017, and the average price per square meter of newly built apartment houses in the selected districts. The research findings suggest that there is little direct link between the house prices and air quality level, and the air quality levels of Ulaanbaatar districts do not have a significant impact on the price per square meter. Therefore, the air quality index should not considered as a house price determinant.

Background Associations between the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes have been demonstrated globally. However, translation and application of this evidence to robust measurement in pediatric specialty nursing care has been limited. Objectives To test the feasibility and performance of nurse-sensitive measures in pediatric cardiovascular programs. Methods Ten nurse-sensitive measures targeting nursing workforce, care process, and patient outcomes were implemented, and measurement data were collected for 6 months across 9 children’s hospitals in the Consortium of Congenital Cardiac Care–Measurement of Nursing Practice (C4-MNP). Participating sites evaluated the feasibility of collecting data and the usability of the data. Results Variations in nursing workforce characteristics were reported across sites, including proportion of registered nurses with 0 to 2 years of experience, nursing education, and nursing certification. Clinical measurement data on weight gain in infants who have undergone cardiac surgery, unplanned transfer to the cardiac intensive care unit, and pain management highlighted opportunities for improvement in care processes. Overall, each measure received a score of 75% or greater in feasibility and usability. Conclusions Collaborative evaluation of measurement performance, feasibility, and usability provided important information for continued refinement of the measures, development of systems to support data collection, and selection of benchmarks across C4-MNP. Results supported the development of target benchmarks for C4-MNP sites to compare performance, share best practices for improving the quality of pediatric cardiovascular nursing care, and inform nurse staffing models.
