Plant-based drug discovery has drawn the attention of researchers, especially the one used as traditional medicines. Centella asiatica is traditional Ayurveda medicine widely used in India and across Asia for treating a variety of diseases. The aerial parts and roots are used for medicinal purpose, and its chemical constituents have wide therapeutic applications in areas of antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, neuroprotective, antioxidant, and wound healing activities. Many of its uses have been proven scientifically, and bioactive ingredients have been validated. In this review, we have done a critical evaluation of available literature looking for the pharmacological importance of C. asiatica. Further studies will be helpful to discover more bioactive compounds their exact mode of actions.

<p>This paper presents the designing, manufacturing and piloting process of havesting machine for Centella Asiatica serving Quang Tho 2 Agricultural Commune. This model is designed and manufactured on the basis of the survey taken on the characteristics of Centella Asiatica in Quang Tho 2 Agricultural Commune of Thua Thien Hue Province. Within project, experiments on machine’s moving speed, cutting speed and optimal speed are carried out. Results obttained in these experiments prove the efficiency of the proposed machine designed by authors.</p>

Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are some of the causes of infectious diseases. Centella asiatica (L.) Urban has many benefits for humans, including overcoming fever, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to determine the inhibition of Centella asiatica (L.) Urban leaves ethanol extract on the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This research is the initial stage of the development of herbal medicines to treat Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections. The independent variable was the concentration of ethanol extract of Centella asiatica (L.) Urban leaves and the dependent variable was the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The anti-bacterial activity test was carried out by the liquid dilution method. The concentrations used are 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%. 100% The results showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against Streptococcus pyogenes: 40% and Pseudomonas aeruginosa: 40%. Minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) results for Streptococcus pyogenes: 60% and Pseudomonas aeruginosa: 60%. So it can be concluded that there is inhibition of the ethanol extract of Centella asiatica (L.) Urban leaves on the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Centella Asiatica (L.) Urban extract has potential as herbal medicine against bacterial infections but requires further research to determine its effect in vivo.

Background: Buyang Huanwu Tang (BYHWT) and relevant Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has its unique advantages in the treatment of cerebral ischemia. However, its pharmacological mechanism have not been fully explained. Objective: Base on the multi-component, also the entire disease network targets, the present study set out to identify major bioactive ingredients, key disease targets, and pathways of BYHWT against cerebral ischemia disease by systematic pharmacological methodology. Methods: Both the bioactive compounds from the BYHWT and the positive drugs against cerebral ischemia were fully investigated. The binding targets of the positive drugs were then obtained. A virtual screening protocol was then used to highlight the compound-target interaction. And network was constructed to visual the compound-target binding effect after docking analysis. Moreover,the targets enrichment analysis for biological processes and pathways were revealed to further explore the function of bio-targets protein gene and its role in the signal pathway. Results: A total of 382 active ingredients of the BYHWT and 23 candidate disease targets were identified. Virtual screening results indicated that multiple bioactive compounds targeted multiple proteins. Each compounds act on one or more targets. The mechanisms were linked to 20 signaling pathways, and the key mechanism was related to serotonergic synapse, calcium signaling pathway and camp signaling pathways. Conclusion: The present study explored the bioactive ingredients and mechanisms of BYHWT against cerebral ischemia by systematic pharmacological methodology. the novel methodology would provide a reference for the lead discovery of precursors, disease mechanism and material base for TCM.
