Artificial intelligence presents new challenges in cybersecurity

The rapid development of complex virtual worlds (most notably, in 3D computer and video games) introduces new challenges for the creation of virtual agents, controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Two important subproblems in this topic area which need to be addressed are (a) believability and (b) effectiveness of agents’ behavior, i.e., human-likeness of the characters and high ability to achieving their own goals. In this paper, the authors study current approaches to believability and effectiveness of AI behavior in virtual worlds. They examine the concepts of believability and effectiveness, and analyze several successful attempts to address these challenges.

The use and possibilities of artificial intelligence (AI) have been assuming great importance in recent years. This fact led to a greater attention on the topic in various fields, especially in health and law, both in its daily application potential and in learning methods. The aim of this article was to present a brief perspective of the challenges and effects of the AI use in teaching and application on health and law domains. Therefore, to better define the theme it was performed a qualitative methodology of bibliographic review. The applications of artificial intelligence have a great potential in clinical and legal use, facilitating the tasks of those involved by helping to reduce workflow, to avoid errors and in decision-making. However, despite these benefits and new opportunities, there are still obstacles regarding regulation and ethical concerns, as well as some reluctance from professionals in their adoption and formal application. In addition, there also the need to proper implement these technologies in learning to keep up the change and the new challenges currently posed, so there is a path that still needs to be followed.

The article analyzes the risks and new opportunities that arise before man and modern society in the light of the development of artificial intelligence and robotics in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution. The rapid development of AI indicates the absence of uniform approaches to assessing the risks and prospects associated with the use of AI. Using PESTEL analysis, the article examines the key areas of interaction between AI and humans, new challenges and prospects that open to humanity in the era of new technologies.


Most experts consider that society has entered in a Fourth Industrial Revolution that implies ubiquitous changes characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines that differentiate physical, digital, and biological spheres. This implies to open a door to important changes in the teaching and learning of the social sciences, geography, and history. Regarding this, it is necessary that both citizens and organizations develop new skills. Artificial intelligence as education technology is possible due to digital and online tools. Adaptive learning, meanwhile, is related to artificial intelligence, personalizing the learning and offering contents adapted to students. New challenges in the teaching of social sciences extends beyond the learning of facts and events. As a result of changes in society of Fourth Industrial Revolution, thinking-based learning (TBL) with the support of learning and knowledge technologies (LKT), creativity, critical thinking, and cooperation are some of the essential learning goals to participate in society.

Unmanned factories became a topic of discussion after the concept of Industry 4.0 was first introduced in the Hannover Fair in 2001, and increasing the computerization level in business life and supporting the production processes with advanced technology were determined as targets. In this regard, artificial intelligence and increased automation are expected to create new kinds of jobs in the coming years; however, a significant problem is predicted considering that these changes will invalidate a high number of job types exist today. Thus, the workforce will face a severe unemployment threat. As a result of all of this, radical changes in the work methods, along with means of seeking employment, are now considered. The qualities of the work and the workforce are being transformed along with the organization methods of the production. While on the other hand, it becomes evident that education also has to adapt to this transformation. In this study, the issues the labor might have to face during this period will be discussed, along with what could be done to solve these problems.

A lot of millennials have been educated in gamified schools where they played Kahoot several times per week, and where applications like Classcraft made them feel like the protagonists of a videogame in which they had to accumulate points to be able to level up. All those that were educated in a gamified environment feel it is natural and logical that gamification is used in all areas. For this reason, gamification is increasingly becoming important in different fields including financial services, bringing new challenges. Gamification allows financial institutions to provide personalized and compelling experiences. Big data and artificial intelligence techniques are called to play an essential role in the gamification of financial services. This chapter aims to explore the possibilities of using artificial intelligence and big data techniques to support gamified financial services which are essential for digital natives but also increasingly important for digital immigrants.
