PA26, a novel lytic bacteriophage infectingPseudomonas aeruginosa, was isolated, and the whole genome was sequenced. It was found to belong to the myoviridae by an electron microscopic observation. It had a linear double-stranded DNA genome of 72,321 bp. Genomic analysis showed that it resembled anotherPseudomonasphage, LIT1.

A novel lytic bacteriophage, SA11, infectingStaphylococcus aureuswas isolated, and the whole genome was sequenced. It belongs to the siphoviridae based on electron microscopic observation. It has a linear double-stranded DNA genome of 136,326 bp. Genomic analysis showed that it is distantly related toStaphylococcusphages A5W, K, ISP, Sb-1, and G1.

ABSTRACT The lytic bacteriophage YS35, which is capable of lysing multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains, was isolated from a sewage sample. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of this myoviral bacteriophage, which contains 93,296 bp of double-stranded DNA and has a 49.4% G+C content.

Six double-stranded DNA Streptomyces bacteriophages, HotFries, Moozy, RavenPuff, Scap1, Rainydai, and SenditCS, were isolated using the phytopathogen Streptomyces scabiei as a host. These phages have been identified as Siphoviridae and members of cluster BI by genomic analysis.

Phab24 was isolated from river water in Zhejiang Province, China, and exhibits lytic activity against clinical isolates of the nosocomial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii (X. Wang, B. Loh, Y. Yu, X. Hua, S. Leptihn, bioRxiv, 2021, https://doi.org/10.1101/2021.07.23.453473 ). The bacteriophage belongs to the Myoviridae family and has a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome sequence that is 93,604 bp long, containing 172 open reading frames (ORFs).

ABSTRACT Bacteriophage LPST10 was isolated from Wuhan, China. Lytic activity was demonstrated against multiple Salmonella enterica serovars, including Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strains. This bacteriophage has a 47,657-bp double-stranded DNA genome encoding 87 putative coding sequences.

The aromatic polyamides form a class of fibers having mechanical properties which are much better than those of aliphatic polyamides. Currently, the accepted morphology of these fibers as proposed by M.G. Dobb, et al. is a radial arrangement of pleated sheets, with the plane of the pleats parallel to the axis of the fiber. We have recently obtained evidence which supports a different morphology of this type of fiber, using ultramicrotomy and ion-thinning techniques to prepare specimens for transmission and scanning electron microscopy.
