ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequence of Variovorax boronicumulans strain c24, which was isolated from a soil-inoculated chemostat culture amended with phenol as a sole carbon and energy source. The genome data will provide insights into phenol and other xenobiotic compound degradation mechanisms for bioremediation applications.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas aeruginosa Hex1T was isolated from soils contaminated with used lubricating oil from a garage in Córdoba, Argentina. This strain is capable of utilizing this pollutant as the sole carbon and energy source. Here, we present the 6.9-Mb draft genome sequence of Hex1T, which contains many heavy metal-resistance genes.

A pink-pigmented facultative methylotroph, Methylorubrum populi Pinkel, was isolated from compost by selective enrichment with caffeine (3,5,7-trimethylxanthine) as the sole carbon, nitrogen, and energy source. We report here its high-quality draft genome sequence, assembled in 35 contigs totaling 5,630,907 bp. We identified 5,681 protein-coding sequences, including those putatively involved in caffeine degradation.

ABSTRACT Here, we report a draft genome sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain Kagoshima no. 2, which is used for brewing shōchū, a traditional distilled spirit in Japan. The genome data will facilitate an understanding of the evolutional traits and genetic background related to the characteristic features of strain Kagoshima no. 2.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas putida strain ASAD was isolated from compost because of its ability to utilize aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) as a carbon and energy source. We report the draft genome sequence of strain ASAD, with an estimated length of 6.9 Mb. Study of this isolate will provide insight into the aspirin biodegradation pathway.

We report the draft genome sequence of Variovorax boronicumulans strain HAB-30, which was isolated from a phenol-degrading chemostat culture. This strain contains genes encoding a multicomponent type of phenol hydroxylase, with degradation pathways for catechol and other aromatic compounds. The genome sequence will be useful for understanding the metabolic pathways involved in phenol degradation.

ABSTRACT This report details a draft genome sequence of Paucibacter aquatile CR182 T , isolated from river water, which contains 5,523,543 bp, has a G+C content of 66.3%, and harbors 4,544 protein-coding genes in 4 contigs. These genome data provide insights into the genetic basis of this strain’s antibacterial activity and adaptive mechanisms.

ABSTRACT Reported here is the draft genome sequence of Deefgea sp. strain CFH1-16, isolated from the intestine of a Hypomesus nipponensis fish collected from the Republic of Korea. The genome sequence was assembled into two contigs with 48.2% G+C content. These genome data could improve our understanding of adaptation in the fish intestine.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.
