ABSTRACT Raphidiopsis raciborskii and Planktothrix agardhii are filamentous, potentially toxin-producing cyanobacteria that form nuisance blooms in fresh waters. Here, we report high-quality metagenome-assembled genome sequences of R. raciborskii and P. agardhii collected from a bloom in Kissena Lake, New York.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.

ABSTRACT Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) is an enteric foodborne pathogen that can cause mild to severe illness. Here, we report the availability of high-quality whole-genome sequences for 77 STEC strains generated using the PacBio sequencing platform.

ABSTRACT The recently described species Myxacorys almedinensis and two other cyanobacteria were isolated from the limestone walls of the Old Cathedral of Coimbra, Portugal (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The high-quality genome sequences presented here will be essential for characterization purposes and description of the novel taxa.

Bacteriophages that infect the foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes were previously isolated from New York dairy farms. The complete genome sequences for three of these Listeria phages, with genome sizes of 64.6 to 65.7 kb, are presented here. Listeria phages LP-010, LP-013, and LP-031-2 are siphoviruses that belong to the genus Homburgvirus.

For their food source, Trachymyrmex septentrionalis ants raise symbiotic fungus gardens that contain bacteria whose functions are poorly understood. Here, we report the genome sequences of eight bacteria isolated from these fungus gardens to better describe the ecology of these strains and their potential to produce secondary metabolites in this niche.

There are six described pathotypes of Escherichia coli that cause significant clinical illness in humans. Enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) strains have been shown to be separated into three phylogenomic clades. To add to a limited body of EIEC genomic data, we report two high-quality draft genomes representing different EIEC phylogenomic clades.

We report the complete and circularized genome sequences of 17 strains of Xanthomonas citri pv. fuscans and Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. phaseoli, which cause common bacterial blight of bean. These new assemblies combining PacBio and short-read sequencing methods provide high-quality material for studying the evolution of these plant pathogens.

ABSTRACT We report here paired isogenic Burkholderia pseudomallei genomes obtained from three patients receiving intravenous meropenem for melioidosis treatment, with post-meropenem isolates developing decreased susceptibility. Two genomes were finished, and four were drafted to improved high-quality standard. These genomes will be used to identify meropenem resistance mechanisms in B. pseudomallei.
