ABSTRACT This publication reports the availability of draft genome sequences of 171 Listeria monocytogenes strains isolated from various food-related sources from California between 2007 and 2017. All isolates contain at least two antimicrobial resistance genes.

We sequenced 35 Salmonella enterica isolates carrying incompatibility group I1 (IncI1) plasmids from different serotypes to study their genotypic characteristics. The isolates originated from food animals (n = 32) and human patients (n = 3). All isolates carried IncI1 plasmids, and many had additional plasmids detected along with virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes.

ABSTRACT Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) are opportunistic pathogens frequently encountered in nosocomial infections. Animal-associated CoNS pose a zoonotic risk and constitute a potential reservoir for virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes. To improve our knowledge of animal-associated CoNS, we sequenced the complete genomes of Staphylococcus felis (ATCC 49168) and Staphylococcus kloosii (ATCC 43959).

We report draft whole-genome sequences of two multidrug-resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Senftenberg sequence type 14 strains resistant to ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxone, and/or azithromycin, which were isolated from neonatal stool and goat meat in Kolkata, India. The genome characteristics, as well as the antimicrobial resistance genes, plasmid types, and integrons, are presented in this report.

Here, we report the genome sequence of Enterobacter hormaechei subsp. steigerwaltii strain BEI01, originally deposited as a member of the Enterobacter cloacae complex. The genome is 4,900,246 bp in size with a GC content of 55.44%; it contains multidrug antimicrobial resistance genes and several metal resistance gene operons.

ABSTRACT This study reports the complete genome sequences of four strains of Streptococcus canis isolated from dogs in South Korea. Their genomes ranged from 2.157 to 2.265 Mbp, with a G+C content of 39.6% to 39.7%. The sequence types, antimicrobial resistance genes, and S. canis M-like protein alleles were characterized.

ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome sequences of eight streptogramin-resistant Enterococcus species isolated from animals and an environmental source in the United States from 2001 to 2004. Antimicrobial resistance genes were identified conferring resistance to the macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramins, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, beta-lactams, and glycopeptides.

ABSTRACT Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) can be a commensal or pathogen in humans. Pathogenicity and disease are related to the acquisition of mobile genetic elements encoding virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes. Here, we report draft genome sequences for 50 clinical MRSA isolates from humans with MRSA-related disease.

ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequences of seven Vibrio cholerae isolates from patients. Four isolates were profiled as multilocus sequence type 69, serogroup O1, a subset of seventh-pandemic El Tor clonal isolates. Presented here are genome assemblies and evidence for major pathogenicity islands, virulence factors, and antimicrobial resistance genes.

Here, we present the draft genome sequences of seven Listeria monocytogenes strains isolated during three independent studies carried out in three stages of a poultry meat production chain. The genome sequences of these strains obtained from different stages can help to understand the possible transmission of L. monocytogenes.
