A series of preparations of gold nanoparticles with diameters from 13 to 60 nm and their conjugates with antibodies (murine immunoglobulins of class G) of different composition were obtained. The composition of the conjugates and the amount of antibodies that retain their reactivity in an immobilized form are characterized. Using the example of immunochromatographic test systems for the detection of D-dimer and C-reactive protein, the effectiveness of conjugates as analytical reagents is compared.

The purpose of the research is to determine the main clinical signs of dirofilariosis in dogs, taking into account the peculiarities of animal exploitation and to analyze the efficacy and convenience of using some diagnostic techniques. Materials and methods. The main clinical signs of dirofilariosis in dogs on the farms of Armenia have been studied. The presence of microfilariae was determined in native smears and using a modified Knott method. We also used the Asan Easy Test Heartworm and SNAP 4Dx Plus Test one-step cassette rapid tests for visual detection of Dirofilaria spp. antigen in blood serum. Results and discussion. 8.5% of dogs in the farms of the Republic of Armenia are infected with Dirofilaria sp. The most infected were dogs aged 5–8 years (75%). The main symptomatic signs of dirofilariosis in dogs were established in the specific conditions of the studied region and the specifics of the specific exploitation of animals. It has been established that the immunochromatographic test systems Asan Easy Test Heartworm and SNAP 4Dx Plus Test for visual detection of canine Dirofilaria spp. antigen in blood serum are the most effective for the diagnosis of dirofilariosis.

Three types of nanoparticles, quantum dots (QDs), gold particles (GPs), and latex particles (LPs), were compared as labels for immunochromatographic assay. The influence of the nature of the label on the analytical performance of the test systems was studied using the example of detection of the antibiotic chloramphenicol (CAP). The limits of detection of CAP are 0.1 ng/mL for QDs, 2.4 ng/mL for GPs, and 0.3 ng/mL for LPs. The unique structure and physical properties of the QD fluorescent labels ensure their competitive advantage over colorimetric labels. The proposed methodology is applicable to determination of characteristics of other nanodisperse labels.

Immunochromatographic test systems to determine X‐, Y‐, S‐, M - virus and virus of potato leaf roll were developed and tested. It was shown that the detection limit of 10 ng/ml, regulated by state standard 33996-2016, was achieved by selecting the conjugate pad, as well as optimizing the parameters of the marker-antibody conjugate and the composition of buffer working solutions.

Immunochromatographic test systems known to foreign laboratory diagnostic experts as lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) are simplified tape formats of modern biosensors. For 60 years, they have been widely used for the rapid detection of target molecules (ligands) in biosubstrates and the diagnosis of many diseases and conditions. The growing popularity of these test systems for providing medical care or diagnostics in developing countries, medical facilities, in emergency situations, as well as for individual home use by patients while monitoring their health are the main factors contributing to the continuous development and improvement of these methods, the emergence of a new generation of formats. The attractiveness and popularity of these fast, easy-to-use, inexpensive and portable diagnostic tools is associated primarily with their high analytical sensitivity and specificity, as well as the ease of interpretation of the results. These qualities have passed the test of time, and today LFIA test systems are fully consistent with the modern world concept of «point-of-care testing», finding wide application not only in medicine, but also in ecology, veterinary medicine, and agriculture. This review will highlight the modern principles of designing the most widely used formats of immunochromatographic test systems for clinical laboratory diagnostics, summarize the main advantages and disadvantages of the method, as well as current achievements and prospects of LFIA technology. Modern innovations aimed at improving the analytical characteristics of LFIA technology are interesting, promising and can bring additional benefits to immunochromatographic platforms that have gained popularity and attractiveness for six decades.
