The effect of dynamic curing of PP/EPDM blends with sulfur and thiuram disulfide systems on their mechanical properties was studied. The results were interpreted using the knowledge of the formation of phase structure in the blends during their melt mixing. It was shown, that a sufficiently slow curing reaction is necessary if a high impact strength is to be obtained. Only in such case, a fine and homogeneous dispersion of elastomer can be formed, which is the necessary condition for high impact strength of the blend. Using an inhibitor of curing in the system and a one-step method of dynamic curing leads to an increase in impact strength of blends. From the comparison of shear modulus and impact strength values, it follows that, at the stiffness, the dynamically cured blends have higher impact strength than the uncured ones.

The influence of talc and various polymeric additives on the basic mechanical properties of polyphenylenesulfone was investigated. It was found out that with the increase in the filler concentration there is an increase in stiffness, tensile strength and a decrease in the plasticity of the polyphenylenesulfone. While studying of polymer-polymer composites based on polyphenylenesulfone, high efficiency of polycarbonate as a modifier of impact strength was revealed. An effective method for producing a composite with a high impact strength and a modulus of elasticity has beendeveloped; it is based on the features of the distribution of the filler in the binary system polyphenylenesulfone – polycarbonate. The concentration of the filler in the polycarbonate phaseleads to low values of impactstrength, while its concentration in the phase of polyphenylenesulfone, followed by the introduction of polycarbonate leads to the formation of a high impact and high modulus composite. The samples obtained by 3D printing have high mechanical characteristics.

In this work, the effects of bamboo flour (BF) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) contents on the tensile strength, impact strength, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) of polyamide 11/BF composites were studied in detail. The PVA was added into PA11/BF composites by two methods: (i) melt mixing with the other components in Haake mixer (one-step method); (ii) dispersing on the surface of BF in ethanol solution before mixing with PA11 in the melted state (two-step method). The investigation of mechanical properties showed the tensile strength of composites prepared by two-step method was higher than that of one-step method, while the trend for impact strength was opposite. On the other hand, DMTA analyses exhibited the enhacement of the compatibility of PA11/BF sample by observing the shift of peaks at the b relaxation around -80 oC due to the presence of PVA. This led to the increase of thermal stability of PA11/PVA/BF composites in comparison with PA11/BF composites.

Fumed silica particles (SiO2) were directly added into poly (butylene succinate) (PBS) by melt mixing process. The effects of amount of fumed silica particles on mechanical properties of PBS/fumed silica composites, those are tensile strength, tensile modulus, impact strength as well as flexural strength, were investigated. It was found that the mechanical properties decreased with increasing fumed silica loading (0-3 wt%). In order to increase polymer-filler interaction, fumed silica was treated with 3-glycidyloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPMS), and its structure was analyzed by FT-IR spectrophotometry. The PBS/modified was found to possess better tensile strength, tensile modulus, impact strength and flexural strength that those of PBS/fumed silica composites.

nfluences on properties of the concrete highway pavement were analyzed in this paper, and the optimal formulation materials were gotten to use in the repair of used-broken cement blocks in the experiment. Polyurethane concrete material was prepared, combing the ordinary concrete technology with one-step method of the synthesis of polyurethane hard bubble, and then its mechanical properties of the relevant parameters were measured to determine the optimal preparation program. The results show that the polyurethane concrete also has sufficiently good mechanical properties while it has the characteristic of fast patching.
