The order parameters and synchronization are numerically investigated in the time delay small-world connected FitzHugh–Nagumo excitable systems. The simulations show that the order parameter continuously decreases with increasing D, the quality of the synchronization worsens for large noise intensity. As the coupling intensity goes up, the quality of the synchronization worsens also, and find that the larger rewiring probability becomes, the larger-order parameter. At the same time, the order parameter goes up, the time delay declines. We obtained the complete phase diagram for a wide range of values of noise intensity D and control parameter g.

The coherence length as a mean-square radius of a Cooper pair is calculated for various forms of the anisotropic order parameter. A wide range of values of this quantity is obtained and the smallest values are of the order of magnitude of a few lattice spacings.

The successful operation of actively controlled magnetic bearings depends greatly on the electromechanical design and control system design. The function of the controller is to maintain bearing performance in the face of system dynamic variations and unpredictable disturbances. The plant considered here is the rotor and magnetic bearing assembly of a test apparatus. The plant dynamics consisting of actuator dynamics, rigid rotor dynamics and flexibility effects are described. Various components of the system are identified and their corresponding linearized theoretical models are validated experimentally. Tests are also run to identify the coupling effects and flexibility modes. The highly nonlinear behavior of the magnetic bearings in addition to the inherent instability of such a system makes the controller design complex. A digital Time Delay Controller is designed and its effectiveness evaluated using several simulations based on linear and nonlinear models for the bearing including bending mode effects. This controller is implemented as an alternative to an existing linear analog compensator. Several experiments are conducted with each controller for spinning and nonspinning conditions. These include time responses, closed loop frequency responses and disturbance rejection responses. The experimental results and comparisons between those of a digital Time Delay Controller and an analog compensator indicate that the Time Delay Controller has impressive static and dynamic stiffness characteristics for the prototype considered. The Time Delay Controller also maintains almost the same dynamic behavior over a significantly wide range of rotor speeds.

Neuropathic pain (NP) can have either central nervous system causes or ones from the peripheral nervous system. This article will focus on the epidemiology, classifications, pathology, non-invasive treatments and invasive treatments as a general review of NP involving the peripheral nervous system. NP has characteristic symptomatology such as burning and electrical sensations. It occurs in up to 10% of the general population. Its frequency can be attributed to its occurrence in neck and back pain, diabetes and patients receiving chemotherapy. There are a wide range of pharmacologic options to control this type of pain and when such measures fail, numerous interventional methods can be employed such as nerve blocks and implanted stimulators. NP has a cost to the patient and society in terms of emotional consequences, quality of life, lost wages and the cost of assistance from the medical system and thus deserves serious consideration for prevention, treatment and control.

Geotechnical assessment of the implementation correctness of a road embankment wide range of issues, among which important selection and control of the quality of the earthworks are extremely significant. The article presents results of in situ tests determining correlations between the depending parameters defined by a static plate – VSS test – E1 and E2, and obtained from the study LFG Dynamic Load Plate. Studies indicate that the determination of the correlation between the parameters characterizing the particle size distribution (Cc, Cu, D10, D20, D30, D60), and the compaction parameters obtained by examining the compaction of sand embankment (Evd, E1, E2, I0) is physically complex and hence extremely difficult.

The article deals with the issues of improving the methods of forming accounting for ultralight aircraft. The article provides information on the identification of ultralight aircraft according to the classification of the International Aviation Federation (IAF) and the laws of Ukraine. It is analyzed the market for ultralight aircraft , the main manufacturers of ultralight aircraft in the world are identified. It is identified the main categories of consumers of ultralight aircraft. It is highlighting the perspectives and main problems of the development of ultralight aviation in Ukraine and the world and  stages of the design of ultralight aircraft. Attention is focused on the practice of global aviation industry, which suggests that gaining new positions and supporting competitiveness of production in the market requires continuous improvement of aircraft quality and the creation of innovative technologies in the face of stringent requirements for scientific, technical, technological, organizational, economic, personnel and investment support for design and aircraft manufacturing. The solution to this problem is primarily related to the effectiveness of the steps taken by the designer, the improvement of production processes and manufacturing technology. Determined by the most promising solution to reduce economic risks and control the level of demand is to attract the customer (consumer) in the process of designing aircraft products. The research objectives are defined and solutions are proposed for improving the design quality of ultralight airplanes by introducing consumer criteria into the design process of ultralight airplanes to meet a wide range of applications. The use of the obtained solutions will allow the manufacturer to make more effective design decisions on the design of ultralight aircraft. Research will further improve the methods of forming ultra-light aircraft in the early design stages

Centroid-based clustering is a widely used technique within unsupervised learning algorithms in many research fields. The success of any centroid-based clustering relies on the choice of the similarity measure under use. In recent years, most studies focused on including several divergence measures in the traditional hard k-means algorithm. In this article, we consider the problem of centroid-based clustering using the family of α β -divergences, which is governed by two parameters, α and β . We propose a new iterative algorithm, α β -k-means, giving closed-form solutions for the computation of the sided centroids. The algorithm can be fine-tuned by means of this pair of values, yielding a wide range of the most frequently used divergences. Moreover, it is guaranteed to converge to local minima for a wide range of values of the pair ( α , β ). Our theoretical contribution has been validated by several experiments performed with synthetic and real data and exploring the ( α , β ) plane. The numerical results obtained confirm the quality of the algorithm and its suitability to be used in several practical applications.
