In this paper we describe the DCEL system: a geometric software package which implements a polyhedral programming environment. This package enables fast prototyping of geometric algorithms for polyhedra or for polyhedral surfaces. We provide an overview of the system's functionality and demonstrate its use in several applications.

The paper considers the generalized Suslov problem with variable parameters and the influence of random perturbations on the dynamics of the system under consideration. The physical meaning of the Suslov problem is Chaplygin's sleigh, which moves along the inner side of the circle. In the case of a deterministic system, a brief review of the previously obtained results is made, the presence of chaotic dynamics in the system and such effects as the appearance of a strange attractor and noncompact (escaping) trajectories is shown. Moreover, the latter may indicate a possible acceleration in the system. The appearance of chaotic strange attractors occurs due to a cascade of bifurcations of doubling the period. We also consider the dynamics of a perturbed system which arises due to the addition of «white noise» modeled by the Wiener process to one of the equations. Changes in the dynamics of a perturbed system compared to an unperturbed one are studied: chaotization of periodic regimes, the appearance of noncompact trajectories, and the premature destruction of strange attractors. In this paper, phase portraits, maps for the period, graphs of system solutions, and a chart of dynamical regimes are constructed using the Maple software package and the software package «Computer Dynamics: Chaos» (/http://site4.ics.org.ru//chaos_pack).

This paper describes a design methodology which has been developed to ensure that turned parts are designed for manufacture. The methodology has been incorporated in a software package which is used interactively on a CAD/CAM system. The methodology ensures that the choices offered to a designer during the design stage are such that turned parts can be produced to company standards using the manufacturing facilities available. The software package automatically selects the necessary raw material, the appropriate tool assemblies, and the necessary machine tools required to manufacture each component as its design process is carried out.

Stable-isotope tracing is a method to measure intracellular metabolic pathway utilization by feeding a cellular system a stable-isotope-labeled tracer nutrient. The power of the method to resolve differential pathway utilization is derived from the enrichment of metabolites in heavy isotopes that are synthesized from the tracer nutrient. However, the readout is complicated by the presence of naturally occurring heavy isotopes that are not derived from the tracer nutrient. Herein we present an algorithm, and a tool that applies it (PolyMID-Correct, part of the PolyMID software package), to computationally remove the influence of naturally occurring heavy isotopes. The algorithm is applicable to stable-isotope tracing data collected on low- and high- mass resolution mass spectrometers. PolyMID-Correct is open source and available under an MIT license.

In this chapter some practical activities to do in primary school classes are shown, and these concern classic themes of arithmetic and geometry but also more recent topics in statistics and probability. Naturally, all of them are based on pedagogical-didactic aspects noted in the preceding chapters. In particular, MatCos 3.0 environment is used. A complete TLS, from which the new methodology based on the MatCos programming environment emerges, will be presented. Finally, the simulation software package, DAF, is presented to illustrate the concept and related operations of the fractions.

The main goal of the research is to develop a publicly available tonal-thematic dictionary in Russian, which allows identifying the semantic orientation of groups of economic texts, as well as determining their sentimental (tonal) characteristics. The article describes the main stages of compiling a dictionary using machine learning methods (clustering, word frequency allocation, correlogram construction) and expert evaluation of determining the tonality and expanding the dictionary by including terms from similar foreign dictionaries. The empirical base of the research included: annual reports of companies, news from ministries and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, financial tweets of companies and RBC news articles in the area of "Economics, Finance, money and business". The compiled dictionary differs from the previous ones in the following ways: 1. it is one of the first dictionaries which can be used to rate the tone of economic and financial texts in Russian language by 5 degrees of tonality; 2. allows you to rate the tonality and content of the text by 12 economic topics (e. g., macroeconomics, monetary policy, stock and commodity markets, etc.) 3. the final version of EcSentiThemeLex dictionary is included in the software package (library) ‘rulexicon’ for the programming environment R and Python. Step-by-step examples of using the developed library in the R environment are given. It allows to evaluate the tone and thematic focus of an economic or financial text by means of a concise code. The structure of the library allows you to use the original texts for their assessment without prior lemmatization (the reduction to elementary forms). The resulting EcSentiThemeLex dictionary is included in the rulexicon software package for the R modeling environment .The tonal-thematic dictionary EcSentiThemeLex with all word forms compiled in this work will simplify the solution of applied problems of text analysis in the financial and economic sphere, and can also potentially serve as a basis for increasing the number of relevant studies in the Russian literature.

Statistical mediation allows researchers to investigate potential causal effects of experimental manipulations through intervening variables. It is a powerful tool for assessing the presence and strength of postulated causal mechanisms. Although mediation is used in certain areas of psychology, it is rarely applied in cognitive psychology and neuroscience. One reason for the scarcity of applications is that these areas of psychology commonly employ within-subjects designs, and it is only recently that statistical mediation has been worked out satisfactorily for such designs. Here, we draw attention to the importance and ubiquity of mediational hypotheses in within-subjects designs, and we present a general and flexible software package for conducting a Bayesian within-subjects mediation analyses in the R programming environment. We use experimental data from cognitive psychology to illustrate the benefits of within-subject mediation for theory testing and comparison.
