Internet of Things (IoT) has become one of the key factors that enables, drives and accelerates the digital transformation all over the world. The vision of the IoT is not only the immediate access to the data but also the ability to turning data into intelligence. As such, there is a growing number of public cloud computing providers offering IoT related services, including data processing, data analyzing and data visualization. However, with tens of billions of microcontroller-powered devices getting involved in the era of IoT, the concerns for overall security, privacy and cost are rising constantly and exponentially. Furthermore, these issues cannot be solved by public cloud computing providers since they mainly focus on the software and services rather than on the end devices. In this article, an integrated solution including Azure Sphere devices and Azure cloud services is proposed to provide a comprehensive and efficient way to ensure security that starts in the device and extends to the cloud with limited budgets. Moreover, the implementation details including hardware components, software design and Azure cloud integration are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed solution.

The new ICT technologies are not only quickly developing but they are also giving birth to newer ICT systems and tools. Using the Internet by means of mobile appliances increases the possibilities. The Internet network has a become essential communication tool in business processes recently. Nowadays the Internet-based applications are more and more successful in agriculture and different parts of the food industry. There are several application areas, such as extension services, precision agriculture, e-commerce, and information services, where the Internet is essential. While studying the use of Augmented Reality technology, it can be concluded that different types of services offer different possibilities. Mobile systems develop very dynamically both in regards to the speed of data transmission and services. New devices like tablets and new services like Cloud Computing, Augmented Reality, and Near Field Communication (NFC) have great potential in agriculture. Cloud Computing provides better resource management and effective cost control. Augmented Reality expands the control, and the NFC gives better personalized information exchange. However, the business assessment of these technologies must not be done only on the basis of the technology and taken out of its environment randomly, since the whole area is very complex. In this chapter, the authors show Augmented Reality and try to highlight the possibilities in agriculture.

Cloud computing is a technology which relies onsharing various computing resources instead of having localservers to handle applications. Cloud computing is driven byvirtualization technology. Virtual machines need migration fromone host to anther due to the presence of error or over loading orslowness in the current running host machine. Live Virtualmachine migration is the transfer of running virtual machinefrom one host to another without stopping the current runningtask. During this live virtual machine migration Downtime is oneof the key factors that have to be considered and assessed.Here we present detailed survey on what are the importance oflive virtual machine migration in cloud computing technologyand various techniques to reduce the downtime during livevirtual machine migration. The flow chart showing the steps usedin Pre copy approach for VM migration. And also we presentthe result of the comparison between the two virtual machinemigration environments, VMWare and Xen Server.

Cloud Computing is one of the most important trends and newest area in the field of information technology in which resources (e.g. CPU and storage) can be leased and released by customers through the Internet in an on-demand basis. The adoption of Cloud Computing in Higher Learning Institution is a real opportunity. Although Cloud computing has gained popularity in the world especially in education and industry, but its impact in colleges is still unexplored. This exploratory qualitative research seeks to identify the factors affecting the adoption of Cloud Computing in South Africa, focusing on Matjhabeng TVET colleges. 35 IT stakeholders from two TVET colleges was interviewed. Thematic analysis was utilised to analase data. After data was analysed, the findings revealed that data security, lack of internet access and lack of infrastructure resources are key factors that affects Cloud computing adoption in Matjhabeng TVET colleges. This paper contributes to the literature on Cloud Computing adoption in Higher Learning Institutions in South Africa.

This paper describes perceptions of social media as a communication tool and source of information for non-profit activities in non-urban communities. It proposes a conceptual framework predicated on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology and the information systems success model as theoretical lenses and suggests that four key factors influence the intentions of non-urban communities to adopt and use social media for communication and information of non-profit activities: performance expectancy (i.e. perception of the benefits of using non-profits’ social media to enhance performance), effort expectancy (i.e. perception of how easy it will be to use non-profits’ social media), social conditions (i.e. expectation of others in non-urban communities to use non-profits’ social media), and facilitating conditions (i.e. access to resources and technology as well as self-efficacy with respect to use of non-profits’ social media). It also suggests that three key enablers allow non-profits to leverage those key factors: information quality (i.e. quality of information about non-profit activities), system quality (i.e. quality of social media interface and technology used by non-profits), and service quality (i.e. quality of interactions between representatives of non-profits and non-urban communities on social media). Further empirical testing to validate the conceptual framework, using a non-urban community sample, and strategic investments in key enablers and determinants of high impact and significance should help non-profits to develop effective social media strategies to widen their reach to and in non-urban communities.

Local realm, the pivotal level of the spatial planning action regarding the engage of citizens, is following its path regarding the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The literature considers GIS a powerful tool, allowing a better knowledge of cities and countryside, managing them in an integrated and more efficient way. A detailed and embedded territorial knowledge ensures a most effective and successful urban management. In fact, the development of information technologies has been fostered a better interaction between planning authorities and citizens. WebGIS applications are key factors of a wider range of geographic information (GI), considering the diversity of research fields, being a communication tool of planning strategies. This article is focused on WebGIS as a skill to ensuring the effectiveness of planning process, comprising e-Platforms of transferring accurate knowledge about the urbanization and building rules; improving the procedural agility, timescale and equity of planning; and supporting the decision-making process of the urbanization and construction actions by local entities, under a complex set of data, documents, maps and drawings. The conclusion shows that WebGIS at spatial planning, guarantees a bigger satisfaction, boosting the collaboration and exchange between local authorities and citizens.
