Heat transfer and mass diffusion in nanofluid over a permeable moving surface are investigated. The surface exhibits convective boundary conditions and constant mass diffusion. Effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis are considered. The resulting partial differential equations are reduced into coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations using suitable transformations. Shooting technique is implemented for the numerical solution. Velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are analyzed for different key parameters entering into the problem. Performed comparative study shows an excellent agreement with the previous analysis.

In this article, we deal with prescribed exponential surface temperature and prescribed exponential heat flux due to micropolar fluids flow on a Riga plate. The flow is induced through an exponentially stretching surface within the time-dependent thermal conductivity. Analysis is performed inside the heat transfer. In our study, two cases are discussed here, namely prescribed exponential order surface temperature (PEST) and prescribed exponential order heat flux (PEHF). The governing systems of the nonlinear partial differential equations are converted into nonlinear ordinary differential equations using appropriate similarity transformations and boundary layer approach. The reduced systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically with the help of bvp4c. The significant results are shown in tables and graphs. The variation due to modified Hartman number M is observed in θ (PEST) and [Formula: see text] (PEHF). θ and [Formula: see text] are also reduced for higher values of the radiation parameter Tr. Obtained results are compared with results from the literature.

An analysis is carried out to study the problem of heat and mass transfer flow over a moving permeable flat stretching sheet in the presence of convective boundary condition, slip, radiation, heat generation/absorption, and first-order chemical reaction. The viscosity of fluid is assumed to vary linearly with temperature. Also the diffusivity is assumed to vary linearly with concentration. The governing partial differential equations have been reduced to the coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using Lie group point of transformations. The system of transformed nonlinear ordinary differential equations is solved numerically using shooting techniques with fourth-order Runge-Kutta integration scheme. Comparison between the existing literature and the present study was carried out and found to be in excellent agreement. The effects of the various interesting parameters on the flow, heat, and mass transfer are analyzed and discussed through graphs in detail. The values of the local Nusselt number, the local skin friction, and the local Sherwood number for different physical parameters are also tabulated.

The dual solutions in the boundary layer flow and heat transfer in the presence of thermal radiation is quantitatively studied. The governing partial differential equations are derived into a system of ordinary differential equations using a similarity transformation, and afterward numerical solution obtained by a shooting technique. Dual solutions execute within a certain range of opposing and assisting flow which related to these numerical solutions. The similarity equations have two branches, upper or lower branch solutions, within a certain range of the mixed convection parameters. Further numerical results exist in our observations which enable to discuss the features of the respective solutions.

Abstract MHD slip flow past an extending surface with third type (convective) boundary condition and thermal radiation is analysed. The governing momentum and energy equations are converted into set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using appropriate similarity transformations. The Fourth-Order Runge-Kutta shooting method is applied for obtaining the numerical solution of the resulting nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The numerical results for velocity and temperature distribution are found for different values of the vital parameters, namely: the magnetic interaction factor, slip factor, convective factor, Prandtl number and radiation factor and are presented graphically, and discussed.

In this current work, the heat transfer analysis for the unsteady squeezing magnetohydrodynamic flow of a viscous nanofluid between two parallel plates in the presence of thermal radiation, viscous and magnetic dissipations impacts, considering Fourier heat flux model have been explored. The partial differential equations representing flow model are reduced to nonlinear ordinary differential equations by introducing a similarity transformation. The dimensionless and nonlinear ordinary differential equations of the velocity and temperatures functions obtained are solved by employing the homotopy perturbation method. The effects of different parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles are examined graphically, and numerical calculations for the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are tabulated. It is found an excellent agreement in the comparative study with literature results. This present numerical exploration has great relevance, consequently a better understanding of the squeezing flow phenomena in the hydraulic lifts, power transmission, nano gastric tubes, reactor fluidization areas.

AbstractThe present analysis reports the behaviour of Sakiadis and Blasius flow of Williamson fluid with convective boundary condition. Using boundary layer approximations and suitable similarity transformations the governing partial differential equations along with the boundary conditions are reduced into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The transformed equations are solved numerically with the help of fourth and fifth order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method. It is found that the Blasius flow provides a thicker thermal boundary layerwhen compared with the Sakiadis flow.

In this paper, we investigate the influence of temperature-dependent fluid properties on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of an electrically conducting dusty fluid over a stretching sheet. Temperature-dependent fluid properties are assumed to vary as a function of the temperature. The governing coupled nonlinear partial differential equations along with the appropriate boundary conditions are transformed into coupled, nonlinear ordinary differential equations by a similarity transformation. The resultant coupled highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by a second order implicit finite difference scheme known as the Keller–Box method. The numerical solutions are compared with the approximate analytical solutions, obtained by a perturbation technique. The analysis reveals that even in the presence of variable fluid properties the transverse velocity of the fluid is to decrease with an increase in the fluid-particle interaction parameter. This observation holds even in the presence of magnetic field. Furthermore, the effects of the physical parameters on the fluid velocity, the velocity of the dust particle, the density of the dust particle, the fluid temperature, the dust-phase temperature, the skin friction, and the wall-temperature gradient are assessed through tables and graphs.

In this study, we discussed the enhancement of thermal conductivity of elasticoviscous fluid filled with nanoparticles, due to the implementation of radiation and convective boundary condition. The flow is considered impinging obliquely in the region of oblique stagnation point on the stretching surface. The obtained governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations by employing a suitable transformation. The solution of the resulting equations is computed numerically using Chebyshev spectral newton iterative scheme. An excellent agreement with the results available in literature is obtained and shown through tables. The effects of involving parameters on the fluid flow and heat transfer are observed and shown through graphs. It is importantly noted that the larger values of Biot number imply the enhancement in heat transfer, thermal boundary layer thickness, and concentration boundary layer thickness.
